Maybe I'll play Cyberpunk 2077 some more. My brother maxed out my character a year and a half ago. Haven't seen him since. Miss him.

”Mr. Dawson, why don't you have a seat?” He said, gesturing to the brown leather chair he had his hand resting on.

The men behind Adel stepped forward. They each placed a firm hand around his upper arms, half-guiding, half-dragging Adel to the seat. If Adel struggled in any way, their plan would have been quickly subduing him with a blow to the cheek - but besides tensing up, the man didn’t fight.

They shoved Adel into the seat, twisting it so it faced the mirror. Vincent still had that smirk on his face as he picked up a bowl of shaving cream and an applicator brush on the counter.

Slowly, methodically, Vincent applied shaving cream to Adel's face while speaking.

”Now, my men tell me that you and your spies have decided to make it your home in White Pine. Not that I care too much about that.”

He set down the bowl, picking out a barber's blade instead. He opened it, the fresh gleam of a clean, sharp blade within.

“What I really care about, though, is who set you up to do this.”

The blade pressed against Adel's neck as Vincent leaned over, staring at the man through the mirror.

”So, what'll it be, Canary? You gonna sing?”

Nocturnal Memoirs (2024)

"A million times I have done this charade. The moment people figure it out, I get the boot." she thought.

"But don't you want to see the fear in their eyes when they see who you really are...? Don't you want dominion of this place, just like how you were unchallenged in Vaal Kastrix?" said the Voice.

Ciara scoffed, immediately thinking of Gulliver and Valen. "I'd love to wipe the smirk off their faces."

"It starts by building a rumor. A rumor of power. This could be the place to start."

She took a deep breath, narrowing her eyes resolutely at the Undermage. "Head Advisor, with all due respect, you have no right to ask me about my intentions. If you want answers..."

She stood from her seat, rising to her full height.

"You'll have to duel me for them."

[OOC: Prepare for a lot of dialogue. Your Charries will have much more to go off of now. Notice I mention what exactly you remember, it's slightly different from what I know some of you were envisioning. My apologies.]

The cat stirred, coughing. "...Is everyone okay? Did we all make it?"

She opened her eyes, the blue a stark contrast to the burns surrounding her face. Her gaze flickered, meeting the stressed expressions of the souls. They all looked confused, like they didn't even know which question to start with.

She raised her head higher. "Hey, we're missing one. The one exotically dressed."

Most souls were conscious, only a couple still slumbered. They would have to be carried. And there was the fact of a soul runaway, she'd have to fill an extra vial of water from the oasis for the exotic soul. They'd likely catch her just outside the village, from what the cat could sense.

She shakily rose to her paws. "Ugh, can't wait 'till we reach the oasis. One drink of that and the hand of The Lady heals all your wounds, physical, or spiritual. These places are sight to behold too, unlike anything you could *cough* ever imagine." She shook with coughing fits, tucking her head in her shoulder. When they subsided, she rolled her eyes and continued.

"My name is Azula, I'm the one who brought you here. It's normally a much smoother ride than this, but I hit the dimensional rip wrong, got myself scorched in the process. I still got you all here safely, though. That's what matters.

"I know you all have a lot of questions. And let me start by telling you where you are: Atlas. The world between realms -- invisibly sandwiched with the Underworld and Heaven. Atlas operates on its own, with it's own deity and such things, but offers to take in broken souls that don't have a home. This paradise of paradises is not as innocent as it looks, unfortunately. Along with fairies, elves and forest spirits, we also hold home to a host of villainous monsters, lurking in the darkness. I will show you how to be safe if we are to save you.

"You're confused you don't remember anything about your life, I know. You remember the information you learned, but personal life events just... Aren't there. Like knowing what a box is, but oblivious to the fact the box may be yours."
A gloom coloured Azula's words.

"Meet my eyes, all of you. I'm going to tell you something that will quell all the doubts and worries you may be having right now. This story is universal for all of you. You were all once mortals on earth. You lived, you loved. You accomplished great things, terrible things, made mistakes, and suffered a great deal.

"You died and suffered in hell a short time before I reached out to you. Had to verify paperwork and whatnot, office technicalities, really. You see, in the Underworld you felt true remorse and your soul started shredding to pieces. That's recompense enough, so we offer this kind of 'second chance' deal. The shredding of your soul will eventually erase your existence, but the only cure for this classified disease is from the touch of a divine. She's here, and I can help you find her. The trade-off was forsaking your old life, including the memories. I told you all of this then, and you agreed to come with me to Atlas. You knew you wouldn't remember anything, but you still trusted me.

"It's a lot to take in, I know. I'll let you chew that over for a bit. But you'll find my words ring true.

" ...Now you can all stop drooling, it's totally natural I can talk. I'm not just your average cat back home, ya know. I'm a servant to the Divine, after all. The Great Lady herself."
She winked.

"Ah, but I don't want to confuse you completely yet." She coughed again, pawing at Wrensthav's foot. "Would you be so kind as to carry me to the oasis? These burns make it hard to move. It's to the left of us, following the twisted path into the forest."

"Everyone, let's stick together. Carry those who haven't woken yet -- you're stronger as a soul than a mortal, fun fact. We'll beeline for the oasis, then we have to chase down the one who ran away. Our next stop after is the Town of Bela, a quiet place not far from here. Perfect to get you some new clothes and explore. Emphasis on the clothes part -- you'll stick out like a sore thumb wearing what you have now. Is everyone with me?"

The group had been walking down the grass path for almost five minutes. Azula craned her head up, breathing in the water-heavy air. The trees and plants surrounding them looked more pristine and perfect than anything earth had to offer; not a leaf was out of place, the grass had no weeds. There were new types of vegetation that couldn't be given a name from how other-worldly and fascinating they appeared. From the sound of it, they were only another five minutes away from water.

She addressed the souls. "Since I don't want to resort calling you guys Soul 1 and Soul 2, we should trying picking names. Has anyone thought of anything?"
I just wanted to point out that Elementals: Void Assault's acronym is EVA. And since we were discussing Wall-e before, I thought it was humorous. Teehee. ;)

omg i love your character estylwen!
ten people is kind of a lot for a roleplay imo ;p

Thanks, Synchronize! :D

But I'd have to agree, ten people is a lot. You'd have so many drop-outs cuz there's so much going on. And curiosity begs me to ask, Xzayler, how goes the IC? :3
Just found the theme for Souls of Atlas, which fits this RP like a glove because it talks about the Greek god Atlas, whom I tie certain themes around. Plus, I love wubbly wubs, so this is perfect. =w=

I hate QQCode, just click me.

Ves has fallen silent, so I'm calling him inactive until further notice. Xiga and Nytem have yet to post (how are those going, guys?) but I'm going to post tomorrow and move us to the water. Then we're booking shit after our poor little runaway, eh Dlay? As soon as we reach the village, you will be free to talk to whoever, do whatever, and immerse your new character into Atlas.
There should be space for one more player. ;)

Actually, yeah. Feel free to post again while the others slowly get started. Most of us are still barely moving in the crater. Couple more posts and I'll move us to the water.

As usual, you like to flatter your roleplayers. And this is why I love you *glomps* Actually, I love you for many more reasons than that :P Thanks. ^^

And that is why I love you, Dlay. It's not flattery, I mean it.~ xD

Come on guys, I have faith in you. Posties for the poor! Posties for the pooooor! ;3
No detail is lost in the eyes of an elf, but even Evelyn was a special case. Like the absence of a needed dusting even though the servants replaced all the chandelier's candles that morning. The frayed edges of an old tapestry near the back of the hall that looked neglected. Or the evident love bite Lady Fionne de Monte kept adjusting her hair over, sitting on the far side of the two tables instead of more in the middle. Her usual seat neighbored a noble who publicly despised her husband, and was caught running naked from her manor one night. That noble's seat was empty as well -- business leave, he claimed, even though he hadn't moved from his estate in days. It's highly possible her angry husband's men lurk just beyond his gates, but that's between you and me. Evelyn chuckled at the thought.

Evelyn had always been a lover of music, but the only thing she enjoyed more than her research was using her keen sense of observation to mentally disrobe her fellow nobles of the court. It wasn't something they'd ever be aware of, but then, some of them were too ignorant to see the subtle shifts in power as those with influence fought for the King's favour.

For formal events like these with the King in attendance, Evelyn never wore her Mage hoods, out of respect. Without her hoods hiding her face, she looked every part the beaming, beautiful advisor every king needed. Silver hair, soft eyes, elven ears pierced with gold. Her standing in the court was a good one--she was either admired or feared by most. A few she was uncertain about, namely Baron Lucius Garthois.

Evelyn and the baron had some questionable history. It was he who figuratively linked the first chain around her wrist, blackmailing her into rebuilding the Thieves Guild so many years ago. She got her hands dirty, but the fear she wielded silenced huge competitors and boosted the kingdom's profit. Turning the situation to her advantage, Evelyn became infamous in Arthroyeaux's under world.

The mastermind to the whole crime empire still eluded her, and she wanted answers. One night, on an evening when Lucius was absent, she broke into his home office to find correspondences between him and an anonymous someone hidden away in his desk. Whoever that someone was, it was they who fed Lucius her life story and ordered her blackmail. To her frustration, she never found clues on exactly who, but she kept some of the letters as leverage.

It just so happened that earlier that day Evelyn pulled Baron Garthois aside and questioned him on the letters. He wasn't alarmed she knew, at least he made no show of it. "Come to the recital tonight. Things will become a little more clear, I assure you."

So when the Baron and His Majesty had their quiet discussion, Evelyn's keen ears picked up every word. Lights shone in her eyes as she pieced the puzzle together, murmuring wordlessly under her breath. The mastermind had been here all along. And she couldn't help but feel relieved.

"Evelyn, are you enjoying the performance as well?"

She politely leaned in. "Your Majesty, nothing compares to the glory your presence brings tonight. Even more so now, though I was expecting something more dramatic from Baron Garthois."

Year? 2014 :PAlso in the RP though it is a sort of alternate universe where Vygorns exist and took control without the humans knowing it.

To add to what Xzayler said, this RP is going to focus a ton on action, combat, and character interaction.

Ah, I see. Thank you. I also thought of another question: how does the world look? How cramped is cramped when you talk about the cities, how poor is poor? Are the cities fenced in, is it just desert out there under the trash? How trashy is it inside the cities? Where does food come from if there's little nature left? Is it synthesized?

Sorry, I like getting a feel for your world. It's easier to create characters that way.
I'm quite intrigued by this role-play. These kinds of stories are my favourite. If you were still needing people I have an idea for an Ice-type character, and it would seem you have an opening for that. But I do have a few questions: 1) What year is it? 2) What standards do you want with your RP? I have a preference for high-casual.
I'm intrigued too!~ I love these kinds of stories. When do you think the OOC will be up? :3
