The simulation doesn't have the resources to process that it's crashed quite yet. We're in the real world, but there are some artifacts of the crash remaining, namely the inability to see reality at the moment. The control center itself is exempt to that effect, meaning that we've successfully completed room five and have breached all of the lab's defenses.
