"Right," Sherlock replied, tilting his head. It was obvious that he didn't believe John one bit. But he didn't want to push the other boy into telling him anything. He didn't want to ruin their friendship or anything. No, not at all. That would be terrible. "If you say so. And you know, I don't sleep much so we could always sneak out and do something." A mischievous smile framed his lips. "That would be fun. And against the rules. So double the fun! I doubt it would be hard to get past whoever patrols so we'll won't be caught. I think prefects patrol sometimes... So if its Mycroft or Greg even more fun because we can prank them!" He was getting all sorts of ideas. It would be great. And hopefully John would have fun and it would take his mind of nightmares. Hopefully talking would take his mind off it. Because, unfortunately, there was no spell that stopped them. Which was a shame. "I am reading Forensic Science: An Introduction to Scientific and Investigative Techniques. It's one of many books I brought with me. Took up most of the space in my suitcase, along with all the school equipment." He shrugged with a smile. "It's interesting. And muggle crime solving techniques are surprisingly good. Its not wonder aurors are so bad at finding wizard criminals. If some of these techniques were employed they would all be much better at their job. Criminals with magic are always prepared for the magic that will be used to track them down." He rolled his eyes slightly, but smiled at John. The eleven year old seemed surprisingly knowledgeable about crimes.
THEY DID OMG THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME I HAVE NETFLIX YAY THAT IS AMAZING xD Sorry for replying all in caps :P
(I stupidly refreshed the page when I had a WIP reply... Meep I'm an idiot)

Sherlock looked up from his book at John when you woke, frown crossing his lips. The other boy had obviously woken from a nightmare. A quick survey of his body language, everything, told Sherlock that this was a regular occurrence. How had he not noticed that before? Regular nightmares was something he should be able to easily deduce upon first meeting someone. He was obviously a bit out of practice. Well that would have to be sorted. Sherlock himself didn't sleep all that much, doing so at odd hours here and there. Often there were more important uses of his time. Like experiments, or research, or learning spells. Which was difficult, first due to not having a wand and now because of the stupid underage magic law. Pretty annoying. But he chose not to sleep. "Do you... Do you want to talk about it?" he asked hesitantly, speaking about John's nightmare. He wasn't really sure what to do in this situation. Was he supposed to ask, try to make John feel better? Or just let him think it out himself and leave him in peace? He didn't know, he'd never had friends. This was his first day having a friend. So he wasn't sure. He bit his lip and stared at the words on the page he had been reading.
"Yeah, you probably can," Sherlock smiled. "Though the two are probably very different." He doubted John's brother was going to pretty much become the leader of the world. Well he was sure that that was Mycroft's goal. Who really knew. "Yeah, and it's fine you don't have to worry about me. If I don't make friends I'll be fine... Alone is better than being with people I don't like." He shrugged slightly. "As you wish. I'll wake you up then... And I'll been fine for a bit. I have a book somewhere." Smiling at John he rummaged through his bag, pulling out a rather thick book. It seemed to be one on forensic science, quite a curious book for a young wizard to have. After all it was a muggle book. But Sherlock was interested in detective work and often the muggle methods were as good as magic, better for dark witches and wizards always expected the magic and made precautions against it. At least that was what he thought. It was also why he had an interest in chemistry. It was intriguing and really quite fun. Not that he didn't enjoy certain magical theory also. He pulled his knees up to his chest, back against the window as he began to read.
"You could call it that," Sherlock laughed lightly with a shrug. "Mutual hatred, really." Even though he would never admit it Sherlock didn't hate his brother. There had been a time when he had looked up to Mycroft and wanted to be like him. Of course that was no longer true, but Sherlock would still go to him if there was something terribly wrong. Or to Greg. Though he would never admit that he actually didn't mind Greg. "Oh... it wasn't to bad," Sherlock replied quietly. "Never met anyone who I wanted to spend time with, really. Maybe that'll change now that I'm going to hogwarts." The or maybe it is just you was left unspoken. Sherlock wasn't sure if he would get on with anyone else. John was the first person he wanted to be with. "It was fine, really. Though now I have someone I enjoy being with." He grinned. "And yeah, I guess not." He shrugged with a smile. "Well... It's in Scotland and we got the train in London. So it will take about 4 and a half hours at least assuming its near the border. I'm not really sure were it is. I don't think we get there in the evening, just in time for dinner."
(Yay I'm glad you are! Me too xD I want to hug them both)

"But you said you will and that counts for something," Sherlock smiled. He looked quite thoughtful at John's question, staring out of the window for a few moments before answering. "No, I don't think so. Molly doesn't count... She just follows me around and adores me but we don't really have much in common. I don't want to spend time with her that much. Mycroft's my brother. We don't get on anyway. Lestrade's my brother's boyfriend, so he really doesn't count." He tilted his head. "Why are you curious about it?" He himself seemed as hesitant as John, and nervous. It was quite obvious that he wasn't the best at this kind of social thing. He didn't know what it meant being friends. He had heard about it and he had some vague idea from how Greg talked about his friends. But he didn't really know. He'd always been a bit of an outsider. Nobody wanted to do anything for him, apart from those with some kind of familial connection."And I'm glad," Sherlock smiled. "I'd rather go to you than them. Unless it was really serious... I don't like to ask Mycroft for help. That would put me in his debt." He made a face.
"Yeah, he'll be more than happy to tell you all about it," Sherlock replied drily. "He likes it far too much. Talks about it a lot... I don't know how Mycroft can put up with it." He rolled his eyes before frowning. "Some. I think there's quite a big rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin and a more minor one between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. However not really between the others so friendships between them aren't seen as bad. Gryffindor and Slytherin though... It borders on hatred sometimes. Just hope we don't get sorted into those two house. The same ones would be nice." He glanced out of the window before nodding. "Yeah. Can't blame then... Some phrase it in a different way." He hesitated, eyes flickering to John. "Really? I can go to you?" He blinked, looking slightly confused before a warm smile spread across his lips. "Thank you, John."

(It's fine ;) I keep on refreshing the page every minute cause I'm enjoying this a lot xD All replies are good)
(Yeah, like the page doesn't load and stuff xD So annoying, and I'm glad :))

"Yes, definitely, most people... They just tell me to shut up," he smiled. "You're one of the few who put up with it... And yes. Yes, definitely. Definitely still be friends." He bit his lip, feeling like he was rambling a bit. Repeating himself. But he wanted to be John's friend, he really did, and he also really did not want to mess it up. John was the only one that put up with him that Sherlock wanted to spend time with him, and they hadn't been in each other's company for all that long. "Ah, yes... I don't know much about Quidditch but I can try to explain it. Its pretty simple. It's a sport, obviously, and I think its similar to the muggle football in its popularity. There is a tournament within the school between the different houses. Each team consists of seven players; Three chasers, two beaters, a keeper and a seeker. I'm not sure exactly what they all do. Anyone from second year and above can try out to be on the team and if they are good enough they'll get a place. Lestrade plays as the keeper, I think. Basically the aim is to... Eh, win by scoring the most points. The game is over when the snitch is caught I think. Oh, and it's played on broomsticks..." He trailed off. "Sorry, I don't know that much about it." He looked quite embarrassed about it. He had never seen it as important information to know.
[Computer issues caused me to post twice]
"Sorry, that was a bit much," Sherlock murmured sheepishly, glancing out the window. "When I start talking about something I know about I...talk." He smiled slightly, though he looked a bit nervous. "Yeah, that would be great but I don't think it will happen. Just... Of all the possibilities I can foresee you end up in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff and I end up in Ravenclaw or Slytherin." He smiled slightly, though, it being hard to feel at all down in John's company. "But you never know... And even if we're not we'll have some classes together and we'll be able to spend time together... Not seeing each other every minute will just make what time we spend together better?" He wasn't sure. He assumed that if John wanted them to be in the same house, thought it would be great, then he wanted to spend time with Sherlock. Did that make them friends? He hoped it did. "It can be... That's why I avoid them mostly." He grinned. "And Mycroft seems to get on with them and use them for spies so I would be wary." He opened his chocolate frog, quickly eating it and looking at the cards he had gotten. "I got Merlin and Albus Dumbledore..." He held them out to John. "Here, have them. I already have both... Somewhere at home."
