"Excuse me, my darlings..." She said calmly "Sorry for interrupting whatever you've got going here, but I was wondering if you'd be interested in some mercenary work."

"Right on time," said Lex with a smile to the young, plump crime lord who had waddled over to the table. He did not deign to explain himself.

The hitman asked her what she had in mind, and how much, and Typho the ruined nobleman began hemming and hawing and excusing himself.

"My friend Typho here," said Lex to Nisvillia with a chuckle, "Can't fight for shit. His full name, however- and this may interest you- is Typho Almano. Older brother, less successful."

"How do you-" began Typho.

"Oh please," said Lex, "You think I'm sitting here losing at Chances to you for the fun of it?"

He turned back to Nisvillia with an apologetic smile, "Aryon Lex, at your service."
@GreivousKhan I would, but it looks like most of the land has been reserved. So I guess my plan won't go through after all.

I will however, try to make something of a Merchant Guild/Iron Bank of Braavos combo. But as you might assume, I'll need a city-state willing to house:
- A massive bank
- A massive vault building

Perks of having that:
- Money money money
- Access to economic network with all other city states who want to house a representative of the bank
- A not insignificant thief network in most city-states with a representative.

Anyone interested?

There's plenty of land if you'd like to be a city, but you're more than welcome to be any of those.
also, all- updated the map: roleplayerguild.com/posts/3009348
@Flagg I edited my post with a brief backstory of the Nekroi. Please, let me know if it's alrit, but keep in mind that there's a lot i I want to add.

Hey Capra- just confirming that you're still with us. I have yet to place the Ossuary on the map, so let me know if there's a location you prefer.

@all: Will up up the latest map update later today. I have tentative locations chosen for Xub'Roth, Yeodrothan, and Arachi, as well as Alf's forest.
@Aristo & @ClocktowerEchos- ok sounds good!
New WIP version of the map. Nothing is set in stone, and pls continue to suggest changes to locations, landmarks and climate types.

light blue/white= mountains

orange = desert

olive = mediterranean climate

dark green = tropical

green = temperate/awaiting player definition

light green = arid plains

dark red = poisonous forest/wasteland

WIP map:

Yellow = desert

Light blue = mountains

White = high mountains

Green = temperate (can be further defined by players)

Ok so start letting me know where you want to be, suggesting landmarks, changes, etc. The red dot to the south by the river delta is the location of Zar Dratha.

The Loft

"I raise," said Lex with a half-smile, taking a sip of his amasec. The booze here wasn't up to his usual standards....but beggars and choosers, &c.

The ruined aristo across the table, a sallow man named Typho from somewhere or other, gave his best impression of expressionless and Lex almost laughed. Even if he hadn't been able to read the man's mind, which he was doing freely, the idiot practically broadcast smug glee. He had a good hand and it was a big pot.

"Fold," said the narc-addict to Lex's left.

"I'm out," said the low-level hitman to Lex's right. What splendid company he had found for himself here in the middle of space.

Lex and the aristo laid their cards down. The aristo had Five Thrones, Lex Straight Saints. The aristo won.

"Another round?" asked Lex with a smirk and another sip of amasec as the noble greedily gathered the chips to himself. The aristo's eyes glittered with desire.

Stop it, Typho, take the winnings for once in your fething life. Buy a girl for the night an- but one more round couldnt hurt- just don't go all in. This dandy pillow-biter here can't play Chances to save his delicate arse.

No.

Come on, Typho- one more round can't hurt....

"Alright," said the aristo. The narc-addict got up in search of new excitement, disappearing into the dim crimson haze of the Loft. The hitman stayed. He looked angry.

Lex cast him a sidelong glance. If this one got too feisty, it might be necessary to give the bastard a mild stroke.

He signaled for a dealer, who came over to shuffle the deck. Two of the remaining players appraised their hands while one of the remaining players pretended to look at his cards while he appraised the minds of his opponents and sipped his drink and thought about what to do with the money he was going to win from these half-wits.

Lex was opening his mouth to tell the dealer to hurry it up, already when something collided with his subconscious like a lasbolt. He sat bolt upright in his chair, spilling his drink on his elegant cuffs. The aristo and the hitman looked at him, curious.

He smiled and said something about his amasec being stronger than he'd expected, dabbing at the corners of his watering eyes with a delicate handkerchief. Internally, he was reeling.

A Navigator had just arrived on to Outpost 57- one not shy about his presence in the Warp.

Well that's interesting, Lex thought.

"What interesting?" asked the aristo, and Lex cursed inwardly for not disentangling himself sufficiently from the idiot's mind.

"Huh?" asked the hitman.

@Flagg

As I said, I was thinking about considering the skeletons as a race, with a model of society and culture distinct from that of humans. I might also add one or two "minor" races, but I'm not sure about that.

As I mention in the OP, I'd rather stay clear of all-undead factions. PM me or drop by the chat, I'm sure we can figure something out.
