It's like there's some strange curse on using the four Railgun characters' given names. Mikoto calling Kuroko Kuroko is the only time their names get used with any sort of regularity. XD

I blame differing cultures. (IC, of course)
But that raised two questions for me, is this the alternate timeline that Madoka made? And do the original characters exist? Sorry if I'm asking something that has already been answered.

In order, we don't know, and yes. The GM murdered Sayaka and Kyoko already with his special villain character for....reasons. Something about order
Annette stepped down the street with a smooth step, avoiding any unpleasant collisions, hitting walk signs in manners that should have been incredibly lucky so as to not hinder her walking along as she headed for the nearest store. This was the fastest way to get clothes for the ball she had to go to later, and so it was the route that she took. At the same time she imagined the things she could do to her roommate, which would never see the light of day, if she could help it.

She had all the cash she needed for it, and she was looking forward to spending the time shopping. Of course, by the same account she carried herself as someone in the public eye, not acting in a way that would reflect negatively upon her and her position. In a city like this, one never knew when a camera or news agency might be watching, and she would prefer to not feed the rumor mills.

As a result, she was somewhat (thanks to her ability) surprised to find two familiar faces approaching from the opposite direction as her, engaged in their own conversation. She was quickly able to identify who they were, though she noted the hoodie being worn as opposed to the traditional uniform. But that didn't seem like a good thing to ask about right now. Who was she to judge Kuroko's tastes in clothing?

So she stopped for a moment in the process of her walk, waving to the two of them. "Hello Misaka, Kuroko," she said warmly. "Lovely day, isn't it?" Not the best opener, but it would serve.

Ren, prepared for anything, found himself taken by surprise at Velvet's outburst, much as CRDL had been. He wouldn't consider it his fault though, since Velvet had never shown any sign of being this firm or resistant, especially when CRDL was involved. But he wouldn't complain though, as it sent them to flight, leaving him alone with the girl.

He watched then as she dropped to her knees, practically shaking in the aftermath, which he could understand. It had probably taken all of her nerve and courage to do that. But doing it was a good thing, though there was the concern that Cardin and his team would merely escalate things now that they had been rebuffed once.

"It's fine," he replied calmly, glancing towards the cafeteria as he stood in place, watching her in the process. "I don't like bullies."

It was true enough, and after what they had done to Jaune, he would admit that the entirety of JNPR had something of a grudge. Nora hadn't broken their legs yet, but there was no love lost between the two groups, simmering in resentment and anger.

That said, he kept his gaze on Velvet, watching calmly and analytically. "You know they're probably going to treat you even worse after this," he pointed out. ANd he was wondering how she planned to handle it, besides simply letting them do what they wanted to her. That would render this whole thing pointless, if even worse for Velvet at the end of the day. And he didn't want to see that.
"Fair enough," he ceded with regards to the pirates. They did provide a challenge on occasion, since more than once had veterans been discharged or defected to those particular brigands. It was a sad state of affairs, which had only been exacerbated by the war, piracy having been present beforehand even in the good old days of the Trade Order. Hell, that was the one actually developed part of the military when the conflict started.

Erich's eyes followed in the direction that she looked, noting the blue star there that served as the center point of the system. It wasn't that unusual, as opposed to a binary system or a neutron star, but he would just as much not be around those anyway. That sort of thing tended to cause a lot more work by their nature.

He shook his head then at her question. "Sadly, no," he admitted. It sounded like an interesting experience though, but he wasn't exactly in control of whether they went to a system like that or not. One could only hope they got the opportunity during this tour, if a system like that existed nearby. "I've seen neutron stars though." A poor replacement, but there it was.
"Thanks," Miyako replied gratefully, at least as much as she could seem to be given the current subject of the conversation. She was more surprised that the Contractor hadn't said anything, and was keeping completely still regardless. It was a level of motor skill she hadn't seen before. "Though he can be more trouble than he's worth sometimes." And wasn't that the truth, more than her current companion could know.

She said her thanks as well before getting down to eating her own meal. Perhaps it wasn't the best, but it was homemade, and that was good enough for her. Then again, she didn't exactly have high standards when it came to cuisine. As long as it was edible and she could stomach the taste, she would probably eat it. That was why she didn't have much trouble agreeing with the suggestion when it was presented.

"Sure," she replied with a hint of indifference, passing over some of her food in exchange for the chicken. And she would admit that it was pretty good chicken in the end, without any chagrin or give there. If it was the truth, then it didn't hurt to actually say it now, did it?

When lunch had ended, she waved dismissively at the question. "Sure, go ahead," she replied. It might be a slight problem with her magical girl duties, but she saw no need to shut her down entirely. Having friends was a part of life, and if she wasn't willing to give up on her family then she wouldn't give up on this either. And it helped that apparently the Contractor wasn't interested in engaging in it's namesake.

The last question caught her by surprise though, and Miyako found herself glancing downwards in the process. It was true, she would admit, though it had more to do with her fighting Primordials than anything. And with that particular job, who knew when she would have the time to engage in a club, given the impact it tended to have on her social life. Vanishing for hours at a time could be a bit of a dampener on that sort of thing.

"I'll think about it," she replied noncommittedly. It'd make sense anyway, since she would naturally have to look at the other clubs here before making a decision. She couldn't be faulted for that. for now though, she was left alone to wait for lunch to end.

When Sora had gone, Miyako glanced down at the Contractor, somehow not surprised that the silence he had been using this far had now vanished. "You, maybe," she replied with a hint of aloofness. "If you want to add another magical girl to the seven we've got here already, that's your business. Not mine." Really, she might be the best but she was not going to be used as a propaganda tool.

By the way, since the fight ended in draw, you've lost. So... where's the money?

Speaking of which....

I'm surprised Windel isn't going off about the possible love triangle between Elise, Yuna, and Izumi.
"Looks like we found an interesting human to overlook."

I feel like this was a mistake.

Ren stood undaunted as Team CRDL responded to his presence, shifting to face him while insulting him at the same time. Frankly he was a bit surprised, if only because Cardin had to know that Nora would break his legs if he did anything to Ren. Not that the quiet boy would get her involved without cause, but it was a real possibility at the end of the day.

Mentally he prepared himself to go for Stormflower if Cardin should choose to make it violent, which was likely, but he would try to prevent that if at all possible. Pointless violence was not something he indulged in, as opposed to Nora. Though in her case there was always a point, but that was neither here nor there.

"Speak when you have something worth saying," he replied calmly, scanning the area and those possible opponents present, planning ahead. He'd seen Cardin spar, knew that he could be a tough opponent, and that meant he would have to be ready.

An eyebrow rose then in careful consideration as he reflected on his next words. "No," he admitted calmly. "Would you prefer that I go get her?" Nora cleaning their clocks would be a foregone conclusion, but for the moment he chose to wait and see what CRDL would do. One way or another, he was ready.
