Bio

The years behind me grow and become brighter whilst the years ahead shrink and become dimmer, providing me an excellent opportunity to use the word 'whilst'. Now I'm tired and can't think of anything else funny to say. Let's see, classy info dump should do. I am FlitterFaux this time around, I tend to get horribly busy (still am) and leave the guild sometimes for years at a time but I just can't stay away forever. I'm not awesome enough for advanced but fast paced one lining does not work for me either so casual is juuusst right. I'm a lady, possibly past 29 but don't ask which 29th birthday I'm at, I like rainbows which is good because they're hard to escape in Hawaii, I like fantasy and sci fi with liberal sprinklings of horror and drama, and I'm tired again. I'll finish the rest later. Edit: Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold the phone. I can start a private conversation... with myself!? Epic. Truly epic.

With a tremendous effort Skye forced herself to break eye contact with the Grimm in its cage. This went against every learned behavior and instinct she had developed over the last three or five years, and it took just as much effort to not look right back at the creature. There were students all around her just talking, not even looking in the direction of the cages. It was starting to seem like part of being a true Hunter included the ability to ignore Grimm as long as they were contained. Their ability to manage their negative emotions around the creatures must be on an entirely different level from my own. Even in this I have so much more to learn. I hope it doesn't take me too long to catch up.

Scanning the seats around her Skye noticed a few people were still glancing in her direction and snickering. But fortunately most of her fellow students were ignoring her, and the professor himself hadn't said anything about her earlier blunder. That helped put her a little at ease, however slightly.

She noticed one of her other teammates, the winged Faunus named Bianca, and she wondered if she should go sit with her, try to get to know her. She felt like she should and she wanted to but... there was something about Bianca's expression. Skye wasn't exactly a master of reading people but maybe it would be better to leave her be for now? Or at least try to wait between classes to try to approach her. Something about Bianca kept making Skye want to talk to her, and it wasn't just the desire to get to know her. Skye felt almost anxious to sit down and really talk with the other Faunus, not just chat. At the same time it didn't feel like the right time or place and that was bothering her almost as much as the sounds the Grimm were making.

Farther away from where she was sitting she spotted a redheaded boy in glasses openly glaring at the classroom's cages. The sight of this boy apparently not even trying to manage his negativity made her physically twitch. So, maybe I'm not the only one not fully in control of their emotions after all.

As if to confirm this thought she saw another girl, much closer to her, visibly fidgeting in her seat. She looked about as nervous as Skye felt. Stop staring, Skye. If she sees me that will probably only make her feel worse. There's likely nothing I can do to help, anyway. I've got to be the least qualified student to give advice in the whole class, if not the whole school. Best thing to do is leave her alone.

And so Skye was very surprised when she moved from her current seat to take one of the vacant places next to this girl. What am I even doing? Skye couldn't think of a reason why but she felt almost compelled to go against her own advice and talk to this girl. She had an idea of where that compulsion was coming from but that did not make her feel any better about approaching this stranger. Whether her suspicions about her motivations were correct or she was just suffering a moment of temporary insanity the results were the same. Skye leaned towards this person and started speaking, her voice rougher and raspier today for all the talking she had done the day before.

"Good afternoon. My name is Skye. Good. She had remembered to introduce herself this time. "I-if I may offer my advice? It helps to think about something pleasant, something that makes you happy. Hold onto it and focus on it over the fear. I'm still afraid of the Grimm myself, and I haven't learned the advanced techniques the other students know just yet. But someone taught me that trick a long time ago. I d-don't know if that helps or if I'm just... I hope it helps a little.

OK, so now I've gone and stuck my nose into someone else's business without them asking for it. Wonderful. But... if I helped, even a little, I guess I could forgive myself.
Well when you put it like that... Let's do this :3
Hm. Anyone up for a short interaction w/ Ashe in Grimm Studies before class actually starts?

Not sure where everyone's sitting though.

No one's talking to the weird idiot in the mask (aka Skye) and I left exactly where she's sitting unspecified. So there's that if there are no non-awkward characters to take you up on that.
How are missions that might be more than what they seem presented in the conference doc? Like if someone designed a task that at first glance was low rank but had insufficient Intel and was actually a much note dangerous situation?
Love ya, Snow

at least you don't have a terrible squad like @Crimmy @HereComesTheSnow @Onarax @Krayzikk that set you up with shows to fuck with you and call them "beginner anime"

whores and liars

sluts and monsters

the whole lot

True. No whores, liars, sluts, or monsters helping me along, just me and my universally poor luck/choices. Not sure if that's better though...
Daaaaammmnn... But yeah, that's what it feels like. I can start watching some random show or movie, start liking one of the characters, then in the next few scenes.... And do I learn my lesson not to get attached? Nope.
Just watched Ninja Scroll the series for the hell of it. I've been reacquainted with the sad fact that I should never pick favorite supporting characters. They're gonna die. Every time.
I would like to but I also want to see what they think about taking that one. I'll get on that and see if miss Valentine gets her wish.
Nice. One of the kind Annabelle would want for several reasons.
