I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Ah, inconvenient best friends. They're kind of like embarrassing parents.
-Super-unsubtle tip that the people your friends hang around may dislike you.
Well, aside from the rain prattling on the roof of the motorcycle club, not much happening for Johan to deal with.

Not quite ancient, but still manage to feel pretty old whenever discussing games from before '95.

One of those instances of "Playing video-games competitively since before you were born" or "I own T-shirts older than some of the people I RP with"

Not quite at Bob Hope levels of "I'm wearing a pair of socks that are older than you." old, but getting there.
Although forbidden from actually retaliating, Johan could still prepare. Modding and enchanting any armors, bikes, and weapons of Underhill members he could find time for, and even improving the doors to make what happened the day before end very badly for the Yakuza, in case they ever planned to follow-up their little Hiroshima with a bit of Nagasaki. His focus was more on deterrence and defense than outfitting them with the biggest guns on the block, but he would often make exceptions for the older heads of the club. Largest was in handloading enchanted ammunitions and giving out about a single magazine's worth to each member. Amongst the most premium loads offered was a pistol-cartridge buffed to have the hitting-power of a rifle, and would cast several magic-bullets upon firing... while remaining completely silent without a flash from the shooter's perspective, but a flashbang from the target's perspective. Making the primer cast an enchanted-mirror upon firing was the hardest part.

The armors were a bit more unique to individuals, and so took longer. The simplest ones were to eliminate the armor from rustling underneath clothing, and to make it lighter and more comfortable to wear constantly; more advanced enchantments melded the armors into their hides. Currently the bikes were often made alternately quieter or louder than normal, it was found simpler to enchant things if one followed Newtonian laws of equal and opposite reactions on other similar items. As such, there was a vast quantity of 'training ammo' that actually seemed to heal people; not that he'd recommend it, one misfiled cartridge could ruin a man's day.

The night before was also Mr Smith's turn to lock-down the bar, which made sense because of all the new lockdown-runes he carved into the walls. Over time the symbols would age and weather out of existence, but for now, they were fresh, clean, and crisp; strong. He made sure to seal all but one door in the back, which instead relied on normal locks and a thick reinforced-door in case he had to let someone in without dropping the lockdown. He sat opposite this door, shotgun pointing at it.
Name: Johan Atchins Smith

Race: Human-Ork half-breed
Age: 23 | Gender: Male

Profession/Role/Position: "Tattoo-artist" For the Underhill Motorcycle Club

Appearance

Equipment: Knife-Wrench, Shotgun-Broomstick, Shovel-AK, a crateload of customized Mosin-Nagants, and whatever else is lying around the club, really.

Implants: Zoom and boom feature of the eye, allowing for micro-sensitive laser-range finding at close distances to determine pulserates and to help act as high-quality nightvision... rather useful in a barfight after the light has been blown-out by a knife-wrench on a chain...

Magic: Has a couple of healing and strength-buff runes tattooed or implanted on his arms.

Personality: Calm, friendly, omnicidal in a brawl. He'll generally assist any cause, but has learned the hard way when it is generally best not to get involved in the actual fighting.

Bio: Immigrated from the Ukraine to seek work after his country fell to Russian Liberation. He was part of a last-ditch resistance, the resistance lost. Badly. He moved to Texas since it seemed like a decent place, free from oppression and in love with guns. Although he still hates the Russian Mafia to the point he'll refuse to serve them drinks unless they pay extra.

Misc: Has accent. If you need something grafted to your body, or a tool 'improved' without pesky paperwork, he's the guy to see. Pay up front and a day in advance.
This room needs an ork with a giant spanner/hammer/knife-wrench.

This is the future, all janitors shall have knife-wrenches... that are also fully customized high-impact sniper rifles.

*Duct tapes Mosin Obrez to knife-wrench*

Bask in its technological superiority.
Probs gonna be a freelance deck-fixer/rigger.

Hit your limit of implants? Nobody wants to touch your case with a yardstick? Out of control cyborg need a reboot?

Yep. [This guy] is good enough to do it, and crazy enough to try.

[working on some sort of app]
Salva left the airport on foot, disarmed save for a messenger's-bag of papers, and his uniform 'sanitized' of any distinguishing markings. He more looked like someone outfitted almost holistically in mil-surplus rather than a soldier on-leave in a foreign country.

Many hours later he came across the Lantana G. Beach Hotel, with many expensively decked-out cars parked in front; a few had been looted of small items left unattended, little things that could have been 'misplaced'.

Inside, he was greeted by the stiff wind of an air-conditioner going full-blast in the lobby. Fetching a cool paper cup of water, he showed his identification and asked to check the registry to ensure they rung-up the correct room. Salva was then directed to sit and wait patiently for his client to come down and sit with him in the lobby; he briefly protested, but was informed this policy was for the privacy and safety of their clients.
I suppose that means IC response requested eff immediate?
Usually there's an informal posting-order that may or may not have much slack allowing tiny 1x1 convoes to occur.
-Lack of this result in 'rabbit-posting' because it looks like the posts are mating like rabbits.

There's also players that are not directly interacting with your character, but when they come into contact, are going to need to bring you up to speed/brought to speed on what either respective sub-group was doing.
-This may even abuse 'fluid time' since posts can take-place in flashbacks and time-skips independent of other groups, so getting things to mesh again can be tricky. For extremely-divergent sub-groups it may be necessary to create separate threads within the same continuity.

And lastly, it is possible to go AFK, and hand the controls for a character to the group in 'auto-follow' where the character is present, but just not doing anything outwardly worth mentioning (alternately, are directly controlled by someone else as an NPC).
