I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

Bio

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Sol Defense Group 3/A-5.

2 of 8 ships remaining.

Sitution: Critical

Likewise, S4 (4th planet from Sol, Mars) 1st Recon Battalion, 7th Marines. Sans Charlie-company, which was too busy winning the war elsewhere.

S4/BLCE-1/7 is a Logistics Combat Element AKA: Pelican-drivers.

I think I did pretty good determining the marine-contingent on Mars. And BLCE-1/7 is probably based on this unit

82nd is an inferior Army Airborne division, and not an ODST-certified unit (Typ. Shock or Force Recon Battalion).

The other key difference is the Army Airborne uses Airfoil carpaces (jetpacks) and resupply-cans, and not SOEIVs. Although technically Pella should be ODST-qualified Force-Recon, I can likely think of a reason why he isn't.
-In short, Army-AA is in-planet rapid-deployment (from Pelicans and such), ODST is exo-planetary.

I figure 46th Shock Trooper Division is up for grabs.

They get issued a stick and a rock, and they have to share the rock.

Dat rock.

Edit: the one on the left.

I like that last idea, I might try being a marine already in the city. I could even be associated with the objective the ODST's are heading for

Well, the presence on Mars was mostly what was left of the Army, actually.
-Of note is they tend to keep the pre-covenant standard .30 caliber firearms. And usually gets issued complete shit, such as a rifle that is literally 120 years old.

OTOH, being that Misrah is on-planet, and has ramped-up production, I'd suggest letting Army-NCOs use Halo 4 weapons.

Of note, the army MA37 assault rifle is notoriously THE WORST assault-rifle in the Halo-verse, while the MA5D is actually rather decent.

I've been wanting to get back into writing and have been looking for a casual RP with low commitment (at least in comparison to Advanced RPs). I'm wondering if it'd be okay to join as a character separate from the main group, doing things on the side and only occasionally contacting the main group. Reason being, I have to get back into the groove of things and I can't guarantee I'll be able to post consistently, so I rather not hold anyone back. If that's okay, then I join. But don't wait up on me.

The drop will be pretty scattered, so just don't worry too much about regrouping due to... pretty much any ODST obstacle.

Be the rookie.

But yes, battle was probably the wrong term to use. I think simply the fall of Acadia is better. @Apollo, Alright, thanks for the update!

Yeah, my entry simply states "Arcadia falls, is promoted".

Meant to strongly imply he did something to slow-down the process of the planet getting glassed long enough for certain important individuals to evacuate.

Wild guess... remote kamikaze Longsword with a Shiva.
-Not entirely so much to destroy, as to just EMP the whole fleet, maybe chuck a few additional shivas in under the shields as the EMP wears-out, then detonate.

To be honest I dunno what is up with everyone being from Arcadia. :)The only thing I am not sure about is this second battle of Arcadia mentioned in Björkgård history. There wasn't really a second battle. After the first battle UNSC presence on the world disappeared and a vast majority of the population abandoned the world. All that remained was a few farming communities that continued to supply the UNSC. By the time of the glassing of Arcadia the world was pretty lawless and lacked permanent UNSC fleets or land forces. The glassing was pretty much a massacre. That being said, there really isn't much canonical information on the fall. So there isn't anything to say that there wasn't some form of UNSC resistance.

Aside from the farming-village, there was a transient drydock to refit returning ships as per Cole Protocol Article 4. Pretty much stating that UNSC vessels no matter how damaged are not permitted to slip-space to core-worlds.

There was also a Forunner dig-site.

UNSC Chara happened to be damaged and near the end of a refit during the fall.

Jennifer antionette watters approved, also I'll be posting up a character sheet for the officer leading you.

You do realize that's a Spartan II, right?

Also, Pella will hate her, immensely. Not sure how he'll work with former-Sargent Kensi Mathers, both had their homeworlds glassed and worked at Arcadia.
-Chance they also worked with Corporal Björkgård back at Arcadia. And despite these individuals fighting on Arcadia, neither has met Lee aside from Mathers.

Pella is also the youngest in the team.
Yeah... I'm going to have to edit that again, starting with 2544 and what unit to get attached to.

Battle for Mars started Oct 20th, so yeah....

*is likely also using the same wiki*

Hopefully fixed.
