I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Doing one right now-ish, minus psychics.

Murasaki did the planets 'n stuff, and the ship (mostly).
This thread should be renamed RPer Appreciation Thread

And due to the topic-change, I have to expand the list to people I have, or currently am RPing with.
Well, I've got a few that I know I've totally boondoggled over the years, either due to "scheduling", making an ass out of my introduction, sending the story in a direction none of us wanted it to go, or simply having lost their interest; probably the one I really missed the bus on was with Exorcist93/VanillaFire, which was cut-short shortly after the int-check was launched due to a brain-hemorrhage. She recovered from her coma a few months later*, and eventually regained some of her memories after changing her username, but apparently suffered a re-bleed (which is nearly always fatal).

*Ironically, myself coming to terms with news of her hemorrhage occurred only a few days before she returned.

**"Scheduling" also includes prolonged loss of access to internet for any and all reasons. Usually I just bookmark the RP on-hold and wait.
-Due to time-travel being a thing, I have been instructed not to recognize anyone unless recognized.
For a short RP where it isn't the basis of the story, I tend to keep it vague with just enough detail to know what is going on should something happen suddenly in the RP, allowing the minds of the reader (for example, TMH) to go wherever it goes when reading such so they can imagine an idealized situation and the story can progress from there without a lot of trial and error (mostly error).

Fade to black and head-tilt worthy noodle-incidents are for when those details are of minor importance except that "something" happened. A nine month timeskip usually follows shortly afterwards for some reason.

But sometimes it *IS* important to the plot...

I take a similar approach to gore and dismemberment, since if the person's body isn't recognizable, there isn't much point of the narrator deciding whether what the character is looking at is a finger, or a toe.
For some reason, I suspect this'll drain the life right outta me. So pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

-Unless one can 'see' magic, it would be hard to tell the difference between magic, and technology hidden behind a cosmetic veneer.
Just so y'know, the GSh-23-2 pretty much uses the came belted case, necked-up to 23mm as 23x115mm.

Also, look up ED-209

14.5x114mm from KPV very heavy machine gun, uses same cartridge as the PTRD-41.

Later models have been retrofitted with anything up to a 30mm.
BTR-60 for life.

Getting out the side-door without getting your head blown-off is fun. Come out on your side, head towards rear, swing legs down while holding top-rear rail, forward movement of APC brings you vertical.

Due to the challenges of doing this, riding on top was a thing. And the BTR-80 opted for a larger door you could walk out of.
The two servants bowed their heads gently and took Mutan's things, one of them pausing only to use the household intercom informing the rest of the Godie family of their daughter's arrival and her general mood summarized as one surprisingly polite word.

Adria seemed to rather enjoy the prospect of being treated with a mediocrium of respect via association with royalty, that and maybe a servant to boss around... The idea flittered through her mind only briefly, as the duties of offloading the ship still fell upon her, although not being tasking with bringing their baggage to their respective accommodations and back was no small blessing.

Isaac was temporarily more concerned over the cosmetic appearances of the ship's boat, since he may as well make it look presentable with so many onlookers; a task a number of servants set about right-away.

Meanwhile, Mortimer was right beside Mutan should anything embarrassing happen.

And with a degree of punctuality, Mutan's older sister -Erika- was the first of the family to step outside; the only one, in fact. The rest most likely stayed by the porch-side or were inside engrossed upon a multitude of files since they weren't exactly expecting her to arrive on-time. That said, Erika stepped out with open arms and seemed most interested in what odd company her little sister had brought along for today.
Oh, Jade 15 was the leasing of a Walmart as a shoot-house for the military operators during the exercise... nobody told you?

Oh right, "Plumbing issue", those MREs do bad things to toilets.

Think "turds the size of your head" and "plugged sewer mains".
