If you can fascinate your crush with a wheel of cheese, what would an entire cheese-cave do to them?

I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Well, the thing is Xuno is kinda dense. So gravity it going to win to some extent against a 400 pound ballistic green brick. So she'll be taking option D: All of the above. Huge column of water from the river, wind, shotgun-recoil, and pelting boulders at herself so she can smash them to try and slow down. Plus with a bit of luck, she can then use her ability to guide the falling rock-fragments to hit any monsters on the way down.

Granted, all of that is going to end up crashing down around Hasuno and Xuno is going to be all wholesome smiles after putting a crater into the riverbed. To her that would be a soft landing, she could land softer but doesn't see the point since it already won't hurt her. She's basically a tank, which can be downright frightening if she'd actually get angry and used her abilities to essentially be the tanky girl she is inside an adaptive stone power-armor, with a shotgun.

Didani could try using her rocket-launcher as a jetpack, since heated air, confined and forced out the other end is essentially a jet engine. But as that's not a landing-strategy she'd practiced before, it won't be a reliable solution. I have... a few ideas, one is the tried and true landing strategy that'd work even if she had no abilities or rocket-launcher. It'd hurt, but she'd live; which tracks with her approach to brute-force her way to a simplistic solution. Otherwise I could have her play in the shadows once she punches through the tree-canopy and teleport to the ground with zero/mirrored inertia. Since that's a pretty staple ability of hers and she's probably been thinking with portals for quite awhile.

Which means she'd going to find the insectdragon's ability to meld/teleport through shadows equally annoying.
@Expendable I pictured Qaymu more as the sort to hoard old steam-trains, honestly.
Well, I figured-out the hardest part of my next post, pairings.

The second hardest part is how Didani was going to survive the landing with just a pike and a really bad temper.

Everyone else is pretty much sorted. Lilith is going to spook Mimi with a shot going over her head, though, and Xuno is going to make a bit of a splash since even with all the wind in her favor she'll still fall like a brick.
<Snipped quote by Xaltwind>

Qaymu hasn't eaten any resident here (as far as you know). For a dragon, he's being very accommodating. And he certainly didn't have anything to do with any sudden departures of the maid service.

Forklift-certified Dragons hoarding forklifts.
Ah, we're approaching the "Oh good, now we can all die together" stage.

And Didani gonna be out there with only half her arsenal. Which, to be quite fair, if she had her full arsenal, and used her abilities, would've been a tad overpowered when she could flash-fry half the forest.
-The initial concept for Didani as-mentioned earlier, was a perpetually angry wyvern-kitten with wrist-mounted shotgun-gauntlets. But that kinda didn't feel original enough. Still would've been fun, and that entire character is gonna be living rent-free in my head as a funny background event for quite awhile in case there's going to be a need for a team-JNPR.

But yeah, flying critter vs flamethrower would've been an too easy for her, so she's stuck fending off a bug with a stick unless it goes far enough away for her to slap it with a rocket. Khathi can probably score plenty of hits, but actually doing damage is another matter unless she poisons or ensnares them (so she'll probably win, but it'll be a tough one). Lilith will probably win at stealth since she can deaden how much noise she makes, increase her hearing, can climb trees, and has more eyes than the rest of the team combined; although Momo is probably using many of the same abilities.

Xuno would be looking for Hasuno, obviously. And figures the river is a safe place to look. She'll also be traveling the most cautiously since she doesn't have any advantage to stealth, on the other hand her shotgun and mace would likely put a stop to most monsters.

Gotta find Yang... Gotta find Yang... Gotta find Yang...

If you wish, you can suggest they run into someone who isn't their room-mate, based on this. Like Didani running into Momo or Xuno getting paired with Nella.
A case in point was how I glossed-over what sort of food everyone took at the cafeteria. Since students tend to migrate towards the most calories per dollar spent, minus food allergies; if it was a meal-plan, whatever the cafeteria felt like serving. If a character took some exotic food choices to personalize their meal then that may be noteworthy.

A softer skip was to fast-forwards through a bunch of dialogue to bring Lilith up to speed with how Khathi has been treating Momo and Didani being Didani. Plus Khathi asking Lilith what her and Mimi have been up to, and of course the housing they have and the additions they've made. So Didani will know Mimi has an onsen large enough for almost-everyone if they plan to pay them a visit, and Khathi added tiny little steps for Momo even though the gesture wasn't necessary.

So here would probably be where Didani or Nella points out the elephant in the room at how alike the room-mates are; that Momo and Khat should probably start a band.
Timeskips would be alright, with provisions of OOCly working out if anything important may have happened during the skip afterwards, and maybe a side-quest RP if we really want to go into detail about it later-on.

So basically the Sear's Tower approach to writing through the path of least resistance.

Like if you don't want to get too in-depth ICly about general zoology, science, math, and history that had already been covered extensively OOCly; we can canvas over it. As roleplays tend to have higher footnote-to-post ratios than a Tolkien book, a deleted scene is far less detrimental to storytelling.

That said, if you want to roleplay a scene, is that not reason enough to roleplay it?
Didani just shrugged, since even she was doubted they'd be sparring with each other from day one. But she had to stop herself from laughing at Ms. Clair's most unhelpful clarification as to the nature of their next class. "I guess that all-but confirms it'll have something to do with the secrecy surrounding this school's curriculum." A short while later Xuno added, "Perhaps we could all be right?" Khathi nodded at this being an acceptable compromise. Lilith then spoke, "We should probably switch to a different topic... Mimi, this is your twin sister?" The drider's voice quickly trailed-off as it went into a private discussion with the twins for a more detailed introduction to the rest of her family, how Momo's room-mate had been treating her, and even how Momo and Hasuno were in the same housing-unit and how Mimi was holding-up being relatively isolated in a cabin with a complete stranger since... almost forever. Basically bringing her up to speed with everyone else by the time the bell rang.

On the way to lunch, the prevailing attitude persisted with the twins asking if Nella and Didani wanted to hang out, which then snowballed into inviting Khat (and Lilith, who was going to be hanging with Mimi anyways). Didani pretended not to be interested, for fear of frightening the twins, but a combination of the twins' pleading and not wanting to offend Nella by being rude had swayed her over to accept the offer. They each managed to make their way through the line pretty swiftly thanks to the presence of Nella, and Didani purposefully clearing a path for the rest of them, while Lilith and Khathi acted as bodyguards for the twins so they wouldn't get swallowed-up and lost in the crowd. Khat was the first one to point out Lilith hadn't recognized Nella from the assembly, and had started Mimi with her sudden and unannounced appearance at the cabins; leading to Lilith sheepishly admitting she'd gotten side-tracked on the way to the school and missed the assembly completely. "You know Mimi, the way you ran over and pick up your sister Momo isn't that much different from how I picked you up by surprise earlier." Lilith joked, "So maybe we'll need to start doing that more often!~" Khathi nodded in agreement, while Didani glanced over at Nella, considering if she'd like to be in on this pact of being swept off her feet by surprise on a regular basis.

"By the way, Didani, aren't you supposed to have two ranged weapons?" Khathi asked. The tiefling's eyes went a bit wider at the realization she'd be going to survival-training under-prepared, "I... I must've left my flamethrower back at the dorm..."

Meanwhile, Xuno had accepted Hasu's invitation to eat outside, laying on the grass in the warm sunlight by the waterside. "Your sisters appear to being doing well, even Momo seems to have hit it off with Lilith. Didani... She's trying to be helpful, I guess. But what about you?" By now Xuno had gotten the impression that her room-mate had often kept to herself due to being the only mermaid in the family, but that was also why Xuno felt it all the more important to be with them, in case things weren't all right behind her colorful exterior.

IC post up, highlighting the shortcomings of Didani's advanced training/education having apparently excluded teamwork from their curriculum.
