Current I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

Being snowed-in on a monday after a 60 hour week is... surprisingly relaxing.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Guess I need to turn the Tiran-6AG (120) into a whole thing.

Granted, I'll probably be using a fully-human crew, so I'll just revive the tank crewmembers I've had killed off over the years.
So Lt Adrian is gonna get his legs back, Strank won't have a bullet-hole in his head, and Richard Sawyer won't be immolated inside a tank.

Fuckit, I'll even have Glashya not buried underneath a collapsed skyscraper as it's rapidly filling with triflourides after ramming an MD-500 into a vampire's face.

And Marcus Grable totes didn't get his F-4 Phantom blown-up making a thermonuclear thunder-run against a Post-modern tech Carrier Battle Group defended by fucking skynet.

I think the only one not to die was Marly, and she was a tad unhinged from all that. (granted, she directly caused one of those deaths, but that's neither here nor there)

Granted, I only have four crew-slots to fill and six fictional crewmen. *loads revolver and spins the cylinder*

I'll encourage someone else to get some ex-North-Korean T-55s, rebore/barrel it to 105mm, and strap some Iranian TOW missiles on it. (likely used by the ISL faction)

-There's also the ex-Taiwan market of CM-11s and whatever wasn't nailed-down in the fourth Indo-Pakistan war.

-Shortlist: Adrian V. (driver) Marly A. (gunner), Marcus G. (Commander), Richard S. (loader)
After a long and hard thunk, I've settled upon a monstrosity of logic I shall dub a Tiran-6AG borne from surplus early-production Chonmas under the presumption that Isreal bought up and directly used Chonma-214/215/216s in the new war of attrition (of which there were estimated to be less than 500 of them compared to the glut of 2000 other models of Chonma).

But basically, by this point Isreal has kinda stopped using 105mm guns, Korea hasn't built a 125mm gun yet, and 115mm is kinda spoopy in the 2020s, and Isreal kinda has 120mm very much well-standardized. Which is quite the timeline to be in rather than Korea shipping those hulks off to Russia in the late 2020s.

Of note, these early Chonmas have pretty much universally been given extended turret bustles by Korea since the mid-1980s. Laser rangefinders... less universally-so. The '92 and '98 (Chonma III and IV) either required new turret production, or simply featured add-on armor seamlessly applied to the existing turret. However their rarity suggests no mass-production (so less than 100 of these).

Stats-wise, this means it'll have a combat-load of 35 120mm tank rounds and up to maybe a dozen ATGMs (likely a rack or two of 4x BGM-71 tubes plus a 4x reload). Plus a bunch of guns topside (14.5mm KPV, Mk-19, M2 Browning, etc)
Most of the RPs here are a diverse array of one-shots.

Typically threads will list whether they are open for people to apply to join or not.

Or you can post your own interest-check to -as the title goes- check for interest in an idea for an RP.
-Or see about getting into an RP before it has actually started
I'm gettin silly with a modernized M4 Sherman. And not just the M50 the Israelis had.

The silliest one I can think of is the M4A1 Multibank-Shermans sent to the UK, turned into the Firefly-meme (small turret), resold to argentina as M4A1E6s (76mm crammed into the turret), and then someone got the bright idea to wedge the French 105mm guns from an AMX-13 into it because that worked so well for the before.

They then were sold to Paraguay, where they sat on vacation as the government collapsed.

The tank was then sold to the Czech Republic.
The journey of this particular Sherman Repotenciado started in the Detroit Tank Arsenal in 1943 where it was built. After its construction, it would be shipped to the United Kingdom and converted to a Sherman Firefly. Then, the Sherman would go to Belgium before being sold to Argentina in 1947. In Argentina it would receive the registration EA 03055 and later be converted to a Sherman Repotenciado in 1977. After the Repotenciados were phased out, an Argentinian dealer would acquire this particular vehicle. It was later bought by the KVH 16th Armored Division CZ and transported to the Czechia in 2018 where it would be reconverted to the original M4A4 variant and continue its service as a reenactment tank

There's also the Yugoslav 122mm gun Sherman.

And then there was the TAM... a Marder 1 hull pretending to be a Leopard 1 really hard.
Though, it's still very much a work in progress!

Okay, looking through the lore, post heavenfall, North Korean tanks are in excess, Vietnam's industry is on the rise, and Isreal had war looming on the horizon.

So basically I'm figuring some interested parties bankrolled some mercs getting ex-DPRK Type 68s up to Vietnam's T-54M3 standards (or Ti-67/Tiran-5Sh) and shipping them to the middle-east/etc en-masse.

Vietnam would've probably still upgraded their 9M14s and decided to slap some missile-racks to the turret-sides along the way, similar to the Peruvian Leon-1 tanks. And the expedited nature of this upgrade would imply that rather than actually rebarrelling the T-55s, they just bored them out to 105mm (smooth). I'd probably throw in some indig-tech of maybe 100/105mm rocket-boosted HEAT-FS. Maybe slap a surplus Ukranian T-64 commander's cupola in with it.

OTOH, a lot of 100mm armed versions would still exist solely for their superior ability to provide HE-frag rounds for infantry support out to 12 km instead of 8km.

Counterpoint: T-62AG-120 made from surplus Chon'ma tanks driven by CAA mercs to assist the Isreali army.
It's actually going to be a bit of a challenge to decide what kind of tank and crew I want to have. Lots of good ideas.

Don't forget to browse the lore-dump.
<Snipped quote by Foster>

Is that a Sheridan? I love that thing. I mean, it's pretty objectively not a good tank and it had a horde of issues. But I mean... doesn't stop me from having a particular soft spot for it. It looks good, and I like the idea of it, even if it wasn't great in practice. It's got that plucky underdog appeal.

It is, although if used, I'd probably incorporate some 2A28 Grom style tech behind it and have it fire rocket-assisted fin-stabilized HEAT rounds to get rid of that dead-zone for between ATGM's minimum [750m] and conventional shell maximum [600m] ranges (less about velocity and more to do with the lack of sight-deflection to account for shell-drop, as the slower M40A1 recoilless rifle [500m/s vs 660 m/s] had an effective range of >1 km, still, it'd be nice to have a speedy dumbfire HEAT round).

But I'll let somebody else take that, I've got my sight set on something a bit more exotic.

In actual practice, you just add some kentucky-windage to the bullet-drop to get it into the dead-zone.

Just chilling and awaiting the roleplay
