I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

Bio

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Shadowfall said Albeit, I've to admit... I've no idea about modern warframe and might mess around, acidentally, in such an rp...

I guess that gives an excuse for a ridiculously expanded semi-fictional modern history of combat. Er... "Alternate History".
-Hopefully you're aware there was a thing called the Vietnam war, the Cold War, and the Soviet-Afghan war; even if only through cinema.
--Although it is helpful to know China/Russia had these border-clashes that escalated to battalion-level skirmishes, the general attitudes of the respective militaries, and the Iran-Contra affair.

The technology, how it's used, and what its called is a bit complicated(Type-62 tank 008 is a bit of a troll, IRL, it suffered pretty badly in Vietnam...), but well... war... war never really changes.
-But long story short, the japanese-sino conflicts, the civil-wars, and Russia's (and later Vietnam's) fall-from-grace in China's eyes are an often untold complication of the Cold-War. But only Nixon could go to China, and hope to do any good for US-Russian relations in the process.

1984 is picked because a lil thing called Chernobyl kinda irradiated Russia's entire grain-belt
-Funny how we didn't expect it to ever be the other way around back then...
I seem to have posted on an outdated int-check.

The first post is quite possibly gonna be scary-long with a few notable typoes that escape due to lack of spellcheck.
Ah, new people.

*reads*

So I guess you'll probably want some sort of RP that whisks your character up into some japanese-RPG level of adventure with Earth-changing proportions?

How about WW3? Russia vs China, 1984.
*Dusts off an old tome and reels of film (film is of Sino/Cambodian-Vietnam conflict after the American-Vietnam conflict)*
-I *may* have at some point gone into detail down to local towns the advance would pass-through, down to their buildings and contents...

Finding out what the Chinese 15th Airborne used was a bit harder, especially since they still used military-gliders late as 1991.

This is mostly regarding 1x1 requests.
. <--- This period is more of a response I got than from anyone I've contacted this week
Am I the only one that's been dealing with this?

Now immagine getting that same feeling, but despite the fact they gave a few short replies to humor you.

Pssh! I don't know about you, but I am still reeling from the fact that the guy I had a crush on in first grade (give me a sec and I'll remember his name, I'm sure - along with his birthdate, which wrist his watch was kept on, and who all of his family members were, as well as his favorite kind of pudding which is STILL his favorite, I am positive) pulled on my pigtails and made me cry and feel like I was ugly and unwanted and fat and suicidal and homicidal and manic. Seriously dood - don't betray reality. That was a REAL HURT and I'm still going to bed CRYING MYSELF TO SLEEP!!!! I'm crying as I type this and I cry whenever I sit down at a coffee bar and get a latte with extra cinnamon. I've named my first born after his pet gerbil so I'll never forget him, ever. And when I'm eighty, I'll be sure to explain to the detective that if it weren't for what's-his-name, those twenty people in my justice borne rage would have survived because I'd have been easier to live with and they would have been allowed to put the toilet paper on any damned way they want. ** heh. you rock. Amen to all yer post. Good, solid tips for role players.

Don't expect any pity from me, my avatar is still a purple unidorn.
Oh, and keep the plot in such a way that necomers can still easily join-up at several points (that or start a que).
Hider still works, is a little buggy (avoid using ' or ~ in the hider-title and you'll be fine)
-And technically, it's QQ-code (see below).
Just double-checking that soldier-nurse pairing is different than this.
-Because now I've got a type 62 on my lawn and nowhere for it to go... That, and a stomach-flu.... Undercooked asian food.

BTW, name of that film
What makes a ship is its crew, not the mass of bulkheads, so I'd probably want the most awesome dysfunctional-crew imagineable, with guest-characters and a nameless-yet-competant support-crew that is there solely to pick-up the slack for our incompetance as we explore strange new worlds in utter disregard for safety, protocol, and space-time.
Ah, 'skipped details' is usually only an issue when my posts start to exceed three paragraphs and the details provided do not appear to be doing anything for the RP.

Problem 2 usually arises when I have to do most (if not all) of the plot/story progression.

As for typoes, that's a raw copy-paste before any edits. And yes, there are typoes because I was slamming that out while either hopped on caffiene with less than 10 hours of sleep a week to meet all my RP demands in a somewhat timely manner, or intoxicated.
(Hint: the second typo is the name of the Chinese border-city)

The RP ended when I realized the other players thought I was RPing as the Russian forces in American soil and tried RPing a counterattack of F-18Es in an RP set for 1984.
