I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

Bio

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

The lens of history is a lot easier on republicans from before the AIDS paranoia hit. A lot of probably smart people looked really goddamn stupid when they were terrified of a gay zombie pandemic or whatever. Interesting tidbit though. It's easy to forget how much of a battleground California can be, as a state. Once you break out of the bay, it's a .... spirited debate. Sort of like gladiatorial deathmatches were spirited handshakes.

Reflection-photo-bomber on right.

Best $100M spent on a recall-election for more of the incumbnant, ever.

That's because Canadians tend not to get worked up about firearms in the way Americans do, despite there's enough firearms in Canada to arm 1/3 of the population. Out here in central Alberta, if you tell someone you own a gun is like saying you own a car or a power drill..

Yeah, but if you're 16, owning a car, and being able to take it out on saturday afternoons and drift around on the ice with it... or enroll in competitive drag-races with it... is a pretty big deal...

Heck, even if you're 43 and going through a midlife-crisis... getting top-score in a certain lumberjack-ing competition is probably worth bragging aboot, don'tcha-know.

edit: and there's nothing quite like playing a good clean game of 'chicken' with a pair of loaded shotguns.
I'd probably counter with a guide that usually is more of a hunting-outfiter/guide for dangerous game, as such, a person who legitimately carries a rifle (or even an assault rifle, it being Africa) for self-defense for when such trips go bad... would probably take a low view of someone who only made provisions for shooting photoes of said animals while getting "the perfect angle".

Oh and hippoes... territorial ones...

Ryuga is what?

IIRC, some fictional creature that eats electronic components... like Synths....
-Oh right, synths... that was more of an inside-joke for Synthorian.
BTW, I now have a pet cat that tries eating my face at night. I'm tempted to call it a lesser Ryuga... it's about the same size as one...

For now, I'll settle for "Omnigus", that or charles
Well, I'm moderately skilled at camping in inclement weather, and survival... Because, y'know how Murphy's law goes in the bush...
Descent Saturn.

Not Denscent, nor Descent 2, and definately not 3.

Becasue you didn't get mega-missiles nor smart missiles in the freeware version.
-and Parallax made nintendo-hard look like child's play. Seriously, we could do a 30-minute speed run through all our NES games, yet level 6-7 pretty much made us shit bricks.
More like 5 per person, but yeah... we got guns. Our daughters got guns, just because.

So pretty much, this happened but with less actual shooting.

Anyhoo.. closest moment I had to being shot was turning-in from a day of clearing a scout-camp in a hastily-repurposed hunting-shack... never bothered to check for guns... one of the younger scouts found one laying next to his bunk, a loaded .22 lever-action... Aimed it straight for a scout's head and pulled the trigger... the remmington Thunderbolt cartridge misfired... probably the only time I've seen it do so... then he re-cocked and drew a bead on me, still thinking it was a toy, and that the cartridges were batteries.

Years later, the scout that was in front of me went through Army Ranger school, I'm deaf and blind on the left side.
