I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

BTW, my apology if I misrepresent the situation of South Sudan for reasons of fictional plot. Any Sudanese reading this, please don't be offended.
-On the other hand, it does raise awareness that the place exists, and does boast an oil field, and probably one of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa; hampered only by warfare and a crippled infrastructure (likely caused by populations settling too close together due to infrastructure issues [Wikipedia cites a lack of improved water-sources and suitable wet-season river-crossings] which cannot be improved by outside assistance due to debt caused by punitive tariffs).
Private Salva Nhialenkempfer had recently returned to his barracks in Juba from another mission checking the bush for rebel activity in and around the Blue Nile district of South Sudan. As part of the 4th Sudanese People's Liberation Army Commandoes, he kept getting sent on such intensive missions in the wilderness on his own. He set down his kalisnikov and binoculars as his squad-mates went to their bunks; Slava however was greeted by a widely-grinning lieutenant and brought into a disused office.

Rumors were spreading that they were starting to embed foriegn journalists into their units, and apparently they were correct. However the line of questions regarding his knowledge of the wildlife, what was safe to eat, and he once became left-behind and had to survive in the bush with just the clothes on his back on a long slogging march through the Sudd wetlands before collapsing from exhaustion and dysentary at Yirol, where he had to be airlifted back to Juba during the wet season. In either case, the lieutenant smiled, nodded, and told him to take the rest of the week off and prepare for a 'special mission' of hand-holding some foriegner as they took pictures of kittens.

Salva gave a crisp salute, turned, and punched the doorframe with his fist on the way out. Apparently big cats were now more important than people.
What doesn't kill you only makes us stronger, so try-try again.

Seems lilt wants the other participant to RP their own cast of character interacting with another cast of chracters and seeing what clings and what dies.

Gimmee a month and I can assemble a team of fuedal post-apocolyptic (or post black-death/crusades/etc) team returning to a home they scracely recognize, and discover a roving band of brigands in the area.

I'm still here, BTW.
-no idea what game of thrones is. At all.
Usually 2 actively in the IC, but up to 10 or more 'in the works' at a time.
And everything tends to wander towards casual.

How I decide when to start/end an RP is a bit more questionable.
Y'know, I just realized, that like batman, you can make everything funnier if you add the words "While drinking coffee" at the end. Provided you immagine that while drinking said brew, the person somehow does it BETTER, ALWAYS, AND NEVER PUTS THE MUG DOWN.

Like fencing.
Fencing while drinking coffee.

Swimming.
Swimming while drinking coffee.

Drinking beer and/or smoking.
Drinking beer and/or smoking while drinking coffee.

Being a referee for a hockey game.
Being a referee for a hockey game, while on coffee.

Batman fighting Tony Stark while drinking coffee, at a hockey-game, with all of the above going-on in the background.
So... North Africa, South Africa, or the heart of Africa?
Dervish said If you're 16, you're still not an adult and have a long life ahead of you, ideally.I mean, when you can't vote, buy booze, have your full driver's license, or own a gun, I think it's pretty safe to say you aren't indicative of the majority of the population.

Well, actually they kinda could, and to an extent, still can via loopholes the size of sperm-whales.

-Minimum age in local elections in America are not covered by the 26th amendment, just that it can be NO GREATER than 18 years. In theory, you can legally vote by age 3 in some states.
-Booze can still be consumed via strawman-purchase by the person's legal gaurdian. And the person may reimburse the gaurdian for said costs.
-Actually, it's a 6-month probate period, and you can start that at 15 years old because the graduated driver's licensing scheme fell-through in a few states
**Racing/commercial-occupational driving can be accomplished by age 6. My mother drove a tanker truck that age, her twin-brother operated the pedals... Forklift certification is even more hilarious.
-As for firearms, yeah, you can buy a gun and start hunting as young as eight without an adult immediately-presesnt (just need line-of-sight).

...

I,,, may have had a slightly different upbringing than the rest of you... Since I was already offloading semitrailers by age five.

Remember kids, America is the home of Audie Murphy.
I'm pretty normal, when I get cut I usually bleed red blood... usually...
