Behind her mask, Katie Kovacs is a nobody. She's a quiet, mousy girl, one that no one would pay attention to unless she directly drew attention to herself, something she's not too fond of doing. She enjoys sitting wherever there's room, reading and writing to her hearts content. She can do this for hours on end, without ever getting bored. In public, she's always been more of an extra.

But that's only when she's Katie. When she's sick of reading under trees, she pursues more exhilarating activities. If she's feeling to antsy for reading, but too tame for crime fighting, she'll go on one of her urban explorations, in which she travels to abandoned urban locations, and finds what secrets they might hold. But more often than not, she instead dawns her uncle's mask, and goes out as a vigilante to solve crimes and end criminals.

While Katie is an excellent fighter, she usually pulls her punches when unmasked, not wanting to hurt anyone too badly, which often leads to her getting pummeled. However, when she puts on the mask, she loses that, and all sense of control. It's then that she goes all out, often resulting in mangled bodies.

Brief Biography:
After her mother died in childbirth, Katie was sent to Little Wanderers' Orphanage. The orphanage wasn't exactly what one would call pristine, being located in the slums of Manhattan, but, during the course of her childhood, it was the only place she could call home. She mostly made enemies, especially out of the bigger, meaner kids, but she did end up befriending another girl, one who was also named Katie. The two spent most of their early childhood as the self-proclaimed "Defenders of Little Wanderers", but, for the most part, they mainly got beat to shit. But they did it together, which was what really mattered. They were together, and they were happy.

However, Katie Kovacs was never destined for happiness. It was on her fourteenth year that her life spun on its head. First, the second Katie, Katie Kovacs' best friend, was adopted by a young tourist couple from China. And just like that, the center of Katie's universe was shipped off halfway across the globe. Then, only days later, Katie received a new center: a grappling hook, some journals, and a mask, all in a cardboard box.

In the journals, Katie ended up learning of the adventures of a man by the name of Rorschach, a one man crusade against crime. From them, she also learned of her connection with this man. His true name was Walter Kovacs, the half-brother of Emily Kovacs, Katie's mother. She also learned much more. She learned of the art of investigation. She learned, as much as one can from a book, how to fight, and climb, and jump. By the time she finished the journals, she thought she was ready for the real deal. She had spent her nights sneaking out of the orphanage, practicing what she learned on discarded mattresses she hung up and used as punching bags, scaling small buildings to the best of her abilities. So she figured she'd delve right into it by facing a local gang. She thought she could take them. As it turned out, she was wrong.

She was able to take out the first few, who were mainly just young men with guns told to stand guard. But when the real baddies came out, Katie couldn't take them. She was almost killed. She would have been killed too, had the gang not been scared off by something. Katie still doesn't know what it is that saved her life.

She ended up being found by some passing civilians, and was sent to the hospital. She spent weeks in that place. But when she got out, she immediately started up again, this time smaller. First, small time thieves, then average thugs, then bank robbers, and soon, she found herself back on the gang's doorstep. This time, though, she came out on top. Ever since, she's been a smalltime defender of Manhattan's slums, cleaning up the trash that the cops wont. But still she felt that she wasn't living up to her family name. So, once she heard about the opening of an academy for people like her, she signed up, so she could become more.

Born to Fight: Katie has a strangely natural instinct when it comes to fighting, one that she was born with. Almost like an animal, Katie is able to fight with little to no thinking, though using her brain often increases her performance. In addition to this, she also has deadly precision.

The Niece of a Detective: Katie has almost a sixth sense when it comes to mysteries. With incredible investigation skills and high perseptive abilities, she's one hell of a detective.

In the Right Hands for the Wrong Reasons: Along with numerous other things, Katie also adopted Rorschach's lethal creativity. In her hands, anything can be used for a weapon.

Alright, I'm not going to argue with you, because I have something to fix all that. I came up with it while walking my dogs. Those two are simply adorable bastards, two dachshunds, and they help me come up with, like, half of my ideas. Anyway, I was walking through the neighborhood, and I actually felt that something was missing from Katie, but I wasn't sure what. And, as it does, my mind started to drift a tad. Now, I love both of my dogs, in case you hadn't noticed, but the two are very different. One's brown, the other's black with white spots. One's lazy, one's extremely outgoing. One's a blithering idiot and the other is an absolute genius. But they get along perfectly well. And it was then, as the two sat there, pissing on flower bushes, that I came up with something that could make her more of an interesting character: Dissociative Identity Disorder, better known as Multiple Personality Disorder.

Sure, it's a bit of a cliché, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad. It wouldn't be supernatural or anything, it would just be two personalities fighting over her body: Katie Kovacs, and Rorschach (or whatever alias gets decided on). This way, she wouldn't just be a copy of a character like she sort of is now, but she'd be her own person, one that can grow. Perhaps she's completely against her alternate personality's tendency to kill, and that's why she signed up for the academy: as damage control.

So yeah, I'd have to make major edits to my CS, and I probably wouldn't have it back up until tomorrow, and you might not want it because it might be hitting too close to actual, real world issues, but I think that it might be able to work. What do you think?

Ahem. Howard the Duck is a vaguely humanoid duck-like creature who was pulled from his home against his will, and was eventually shoved onto Earth 616. While he has no supernatural abilities apart from minor spells he picked up in his journies, but he is well trained in Quak Fu, a deadly type of martial arts that Howard uses to survive against much stronger enemies. In addition to this, Howard is perhaps Marvel's greatest detective mind, and has his own detective agency. And he's still better than Squirrel Girl.

Also, one last note on the issue: She-Hulk is also quite the fourth wall breaker. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Hey, I was wondering if, if Katie gets accepted, you two might want to have Carly and Jerome know about her. Katie's definitely going to know about them, what with her investigations and all, but they'd probably know her as well, since she's been offing a good amount of criminals working for or with the Joker.

Or should I ask again when tensions are a tad lower? I'm not too good at reading these kind of social signs.

Hey, sorry if I'm butting in, but I just thought I'd throw in my two cents again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that what Arch is saying is that Light will only observe the fourth when Deadpool breaks it, in a matter of speaking. For example, say Deadpool's kid breaks the fourth wall. Rather than having the normal reaction of confusion, I could see Light observing Deadpool's fourth wall break, saying something that hints at her having that kind of knowledge as well, and, at most, the two might have a short, humorous conversation that other people would just see as two mental patients babbling. The fourth wall is breaking no more than it would if it were just Deadpool.
