Sometimes, fate has a way of making things its own.

Parallel worlds work in strange ways; they are fickle things, often remaining self-contained and letting things run their course, as they should. This is only natural; after all, the laws of nature should let beings dictate their own fate. Of course, that only applies for the world at large. For you in particular, though...
"I beseech of thee, being from another plane of existence: aid me, and prevent the collapse of this world, and many others..."
The words seem to slip into your head, and without being able to question the meaning or being able to give a response, the world fades to black.

When you reawaken, you find yourself in a brightly lit room, basked in a glowing white light that seems to flow endlessly from the windows above. The room seems similar to a cathedral, save for the lack of any sort of seats in the area. In front of where an altar would otherwise be, though, stands a lone woman; her hair is dyed a pale white, as is her habit and veil. She seems almost ghostly, and her face towards all that have awoken seems to be one of distraught worry.

"I profusely apologize for bringing you all here," she states, bowing her head in apology. "But this is an urgent matter that necessitated immediate aid. I hope you can forgive me for my transgressions upon your life. My name is Lydia; I am known as the Administrator of the Astral Plane, a realm inaccessible without approval."

The "Administrator," for lack of a better word, continues on with her explanation, regardless of anyone attempting to interrupt her.
"The reason I have summoned all of you here today is to aid in the recovery of the Astral Plane, and with it, the Akashic Record. Recently, a large amount of anomalies have been popping up in worlds left and right, and I am unable to keep up with my repairs in each of them. Though I have been able to stabilize each of your homes, the matter will only worsen by the day; it is only a matter of time before each error becomes irreversible, and the Akashic Record more and more corrupt. If the worst comes to pass, then the Akashic Record will be shut down, and all of the realms in its domain will soon follow. So please, I ask of you: good or evil, put aside those petty moral differences and aid me so that you may continue to live on. If you wish not to aid me, I shall return you home; however, I cannot guarantee the existence of your world to be maintained thereafter. After your mission is complete, I shall reward you however you wish; money, power, or fame, if it is for the sake of the multiverse as a whole, then I am willing to grant whatever you desire."

Though the woman's story seems... Fishy, the lack of options seems to be... Grim. There are a few among you who request to be returned, and in a bright flash of light, they disappear in a bright beam of light. The terms 'Akashic Record' and 'Astral Plane' don't seem like the most intuitive things to know, and it's almost guaranteed that the concept is foreign to many. Nevertheless, her claims seem to have riled many a person up.

Are you one of them?

So, uh... Yeah! Multiverse RP! Woo!
This RP is going to be kind of... Weird, all things considered. Why? Well, here's how.
  • 'Villains' and 'heroes' working towards a common goal. They'll sure as hell clash, but that's only good for character development, right? Of course, any character that goes waaaaay off the deep end into irredeemable territory, mindless creatures hellbent on the destruction of everything and everything, and so on and so forth are a no-go. They have to be characters that can be reasoned with... To some extent. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I'M ALLOWING THINGS THAT ARE OVER PG-13. SERIOUSLY. DON'T GO THAT FAR.
  • KH-style world-jumping, with a twist: The plot for each world ain't gonna be as cut and dry as it was in the original story. For example, say the characters go into the Narutoverse (not saying they actually will, ofc). They might not necessarily be fighting the big bads of the story; they could just as easily be fighting the "heroes" in order to get to the core of the anomaly at hand. By that same logic, your characters might end up fighting against others that are from an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT world! That's just the nature of how these anomalies are: really freakin' strange.
  • Origin worlds being unplayable. When I say 'origin,' I'm referring to wherever the PCs being played are from. There's no anomaly there, after all, so there's no problem to solve. So, for example, if someone's playing a Harry Potter character, then the world in question will NOT be visited. This rule is subject to change.

So, obviously, as with all RPs, there are a few things I have to lay out.
1. The classics. No Sues, Stus, godmodding, powerplaying, etc;. Standard fare.
2. OCs ARE OKAY. Seriously. They're fine. Don't ask.
3. There's a limit to how strong the characters that are played can be, after all. I'm leaving it pretty open, and I'm pretty sure that people are reasonable to pick something that's not going to trivialize everything. It's about the journey, not the destination, after all.
4. 3 characters per player, 1 character per world per RPer; these cannot be the same character in any way, shape, or form. Let me explain this.
Say Players A and B want to play characters from the Jojoverse. A wants to play Old Joseph and Jotaro, while B wants to play Young Joseph. If A plays Old Joseph, they cannot play Jotaro and B cannot play Young Joseph; by that same logic, A cannot play Old Joseph if B plays Young Joseph. A also cannot play both characters; they must pick between playing either Jotaro or Old Joseph. No exceptions.
Unless it's an anomaly. Then they're NPCs.
5. The Astral Plane's the hub world. As described in the OP, it's essentially a cathedral, but has branches out to many different worlds. As anomalies are fixed, more open up. Simple, right?
Oh, and the hub world can be "upgraded," in a sense. Time functions differently in this place, so downtimes of relaxation and restoration will be possible.
Yes, in theory, you could have a hot springs or a restaurant built here, but THAT'S UP TO YOU GUYS.
6. 'Fixed' worlds, unlike 'origin' worlds, aren't revisitable. Once you're done, you're done. This rule is ALSO subject to change.

I think that should about cover it for this RP's IC. Any questions? Ask away!
In the meantime, here's a form!

So... Where Med at, tho?
Huh. This blew up fast.

Great to see all this interest, at least. It's a tad early, though, so form review will have to wait for now.
I'll bring an OoC live later today.

Vendrael took a moment to recollect his thoughts as the group neared their destination. The journey from his home past the Veil to the center of the land of humans had by no means been an easy one; the various scorch marks scattered across the land proved as much. Lightning could spark a flame, yes, but at the same time...

The young high elf quickly pushed those thoughts out of his head; every single time that he had set a fire, it had never done anything worse than burn down a tree or two. There were more than enough of those, so what did a few piles of ash along the road matter?

Nevertheless, his journey had been one with... Rather lackluster incidents. If a beast of some sort attacked him, he had left it paralyzed on the ground and left nature to take its course. If bandits had ambushed him, a sudden flash of bright light (even in the middle of the day!) was all it took to buy him enough time for a quick getaway.

And yet nobody anywhere seemed to have anything in regards to what he was looking for. No advances in technology, no leaps in magic... Nothing. Then again, it wasn't as if any of the rural villages he passed through would have any of those in the first place, but still...

The further he ventured into this foreign land, however, the livelier and more advanced it became; what was initially simple villages turned into bustling towns, and then...

Well, the first thing to do was to get some sort of drink, and one thing led to another, and now...
Here he was. Granted, it seemed like nobody was calling him out on being an elf, a fact which amused him; did he look 'normal' enough to pass for a human, or were his kind common enough to not make it worth mentioning?

...

Well, that matter could wait. For now, his... Erm... "Employer" was calling for action. They were supposed to delve to the bottom and kill some sort of unholy abomination or something, right? The rewards didn't interest him as much as the possibility of forgotten ancient tests did, but...

"If the building's as old as you're making it out to be, miss, then I assume someone's probably already blown a hole in it..."

In a deliberate attempt to move as far away from the musclehead offering to throw someone to the top of the tower, Veldrael began to walk around the perimeter of the tower, in hopes that his theory was right. Not many buildings could stand this long unscathed, after all.
Takeyoshi Sakujima- ゴーレムと戦う

The pain had dissipated by the time Takeyoshi had entered the next room, having become not much more than a dull pain by the time he reached the next chamber. He had, by some miracle, been able to keep balance on his geta even while remaining slightly off-balance, which was helpful enough, but...

"...Oh. That... Doesn't... Seem good."

The tengu let the words slip out unconsciously as he noticed the blood-splattered floor and walls in the room, along with two golems coming to life. While most of them looked dried out, there were a few that seemed to be... Newer.
...
Was that why the doors took a while to open just now?

His thoughts were interrupted again, however, when he saw the two automatons rushing for him and Miyu.

"Oh, shi-!" he swore, kicking off of the ground to take flight. Watching Miyu fire off more explosions, Takeyoshi subconsciously moved his rigth hand over his chest in protection before flying down to pick Miyu off of the ground. At the very least, it'd give them more area to move around in than being on the round.

Hopefully these things couldn't... Shoot laters or something. Assuming those golems didn't explode in one hit, at least.
@Lost Cause

IT'S MEGUMIN! \o/
Takeyoshi Sakujima- 痛ー!

To say that Takeyoshi expected something to go wrong would be an understatement; to say that he expected to get hit, though, was an entirely different story. The young tengu had been knocked to the ground, feeling as if he had just been slammed into by a car or something. The pain was... Excruciating, to say the least. He had never had much pain tolerance, but something of this level...
Was this how it felt to get hit by a pro pitcher's baseball or something? It was probably worse, all things considered.

As the moment of pain dissipated, Takeyoshi attempted to bring himself back to his feet. Miyu decided to help, thankfully enough; it was probably an accident, all things considered, but...

"Yeah, I... I'm fine. Just hurts. Taking that hit outta my candy debt to you, alright?" he half-heartedly joked, trying to alleviate the girl's worries as he wobbled back to his feet. "So... That didn't work. Let's not try that again and just... Stick to walking for now, all right?"

Taking a deep breath in an attempt to ignore the residual throbbing, Takeyoshi looked at the three doors again. There had to be something...

"Hm. You know what? Let's try the sad corridor. Might as well, since neutral face got us to an identical room... Right?"

Without waiting for a response, Takeyoshi began to walk through, waiting for Miyu to follow suit.
I'll post once I get home... Which is in a little while. Expect smth in like 4-5 hours from now, aight?
Liu's failure to find any semblance of any sort of entrance nearer to the forest was marginally irritating, but it was a feeling he had gotten used to after months of hunting in the forests near Mingdu. Every trace of activity has either been too old to make use of or too different from a human's to be... Well, a human's. Just as the hunter was about to go move on to the other side of the road, though, he heard Torako calling out to both him and Kyang.

"...A wooden thingy. Under the stuff. Okay. Well, I mean... Broken carriages are a thing, right?" he muttered to himself, casually walking over to where Torako was in order to see what she had been clamoring about. Somehow...

"...You actually found it. Wow. I'm impressed," Liu said, patting the girl on the head as a joke before kneeling down next to whatever it was that was being covered. Carefully brushing away the cover, the 'wooden thing' made itself to be a trapdoor of sorts. Taking a deep breath, Liu began to lift the door...

Only to be denied by... A lock.

"...You know, I should've seen this coming."

With a sigh, Liu backed away and turned to his companions, shrugging his shoulders.

"You think we should just... Bust the door down and throw caution to the wind?"
