@PrinceAlexus Still openings available?
Lmao

I'm pretty sure you're not actually laughing, much less laughing your ass off, so I guess this is an attempt to seem blase and laid back while you argue. Low effort man.

Lmao. I know in addition to not being very smart you have a poor memory, but the subject is wolfenstein 2, not the old one.

I know in addition to being a contrarian you have a very strange grasp of how fiction works. But wolfenstein is a series, I brought up Mecha-hitler to highlight their track record of silliness, history be damned. You do know how a franchise/brand works right?

The latest four games Wolfenstein (2009) The New Order, The Old Blood and The New Colossus are soft reboot of the original series, but still are alternate history silly games even if the graphics and dialogue are a bit better. The new order begins an alternative timeline of the 1960s where the Nazis won WW2 so the very silly franchise, still complete with mecha nazi warmachines and cyborg dogs takes many liberties with real world history.

Additionally, you're still not providing a single point on what benefit to story or gameplay this particular deviancy from historicity provides.

Oh, and you want to swing at me for "insulting" you? Tell you what, I'll stop when you stop your own bullshit.

Benefit to the gameplay or story? Jesus is this your argument? What benefit to the story would it have been if it stayed totally realistic and had the war end in 1945? Its an alternative fucking history, real world facts are totally irrelevant. You cant criticise fiction that is in no way attempting to be realistic for not being realistic. So Hitler hated the KKK IRL? Cool, who gives a shit? Wolfenstien II wanted to have a dumb exchange in a 1960s america of SS troops berating subordinate Klan members for not learning german quick enough. That's its own justification.

You're essentially complaining that a 'What-if' Fan-Fiction is misrepresenting Nazis to make them seem more cartoonish and ridiculous then their real life counterparts. Considering you are literally arguing this on a Roleplaying Forum adds a thick layer of irony over your already well established ignorance.

I take it you are using the term 'bullshit' in the broadest possible sense because I haven't said anything false about the games here. But bullshit is a lot more preferable to irrelevant nonsense.
Ha ha my goodness this 'hit piece' NBC news put on their youtube account is hilariously bad[decent editing though]. How Gamers Are Facilitating The Rise Of The Alt-Right. That's right guys, discord and all those gamers are the true problem...:P

Just thought it appropriate since the topic is in game territory right now.

NBC did a horrible job of presenting a real issue.

Theyve made too many broad strokes, and attacking discord is a stupid, its just another platform and it can be used however the people in question want to.

However there is a point here amongst all of misrepresentation and poor research, one that is something kind of unspoken and that is that gamergate has been a gateway drug to more nefarious groups sometimes.

Just stick with me on this train of thought:

Gamergate was HUGE and it was the first really major political movement for a lot of young male gamers since the jack thompson days. And just like with Jack Thompson, they rose up against attacks on their medium and the politics which seemed to be doing no good for the games or the consumers.

A large majority of Gamergaters were just regular people who didn't like the actions of Kotaku and Anita in the wake of a few different scandals. Politically they were across the board, it wasn't a right wing or a left wing movement it was an apolitical advocacy movement.

But what cant be ignored is that along the way a section of the gamergate movement got tied up with the anti-feminist movement, which of course overlaps with the Men's Rights Movement. Still a small percentage mind you, not even most gamergaters support Roosh V and his dangerous rhetoric but there was some overlap. This is also where Milo became famous outside of England, and some of the original GG crowd overlapped with him.

Now what I'm saying here is fraction of GG got with the MRA movement and then a good chunk of that MRA movement got with the anti-SJW movement and then that anti-SJW anti-Feminist movement, got with a general anti-leftism movement. So this is small fraction but the breadcrumb trail is fairly clear. Now at some point the alt-right got involved with MRA and Youtube skeptic community, and were able to bolster their numbers with angry newly politicized young men who not only hated feminism but now a large swath of what the left represents in general. So fast forward to today, there is a fraction of ex-gamergaters who got lead down a trail of internet movmments that eventually lead them to the alt-right.

HOWEVER

Stormfront has been around for AGES and there was no shortage of young people on there when I would occasionally lurk back in 05-06. So I think what most people are missing is that the LARGE majority of Alt-Right tiki torch crowd were already white nationalists and were just wait for a new energised movement as a springboard before showing their faces. This is what everyone including NBCis missing about the Alt-Right, investigate Stormfront, not Gamergate.

Hostile Factions

Useful Glossary and Terms

Bastion- The featured tank of the RP used by the last surviving members of the Cartwright Military Academy. Was built from parts from the local museum and scavenged remains of an experimental drone tank, that was previously under command of the Rouge A.I.

Cartwright Academy- The Military Academy founded by Kenneth Cartwright, a wealthy american retired military general who decided to set up an education system for some of the more grief stricken nations across the globe. After many hard times there are said to only be 20 military academies left in the world.

Credits- The currency of this world. More proportionate to the American Dollar than Yen.

The Skirmishes- The general term used for the many many world wars that left the world in the state that its in, history records have mostly been lost over the years so details about when or how the wars started are largely down to speculation.

Combat

Combat follows the Arena-style method of engagement. You declare attacks but you cannot auto hit. You can attempt to dodge/block/defend but the circumstances of the attempt must be reasonable or your action will be overruled by the GMs (If you get shot at by a rail gun, don't attempt to Neo-dodge the bullets or you will just get torn up).

However where this differs from Arena is that all of your encounters will be PvE (unless you and your team want to have a scuffle). So while you cant auto hit us (the GMs) we can Auto-hit you if we feel necessary. We also calculate how much damage you suffer and and how much inflict. Instances where you can auto-hit the enemy is against 'horde' type enemies like mindless sprinter mutants, low level bandits/gangsters or stationary defense turrets if you are in the tank.

Please note YOU CAN DIE in this game, this is part survival and although GMs wont kill you for something minor 'like oops you stepped on a mine'. We will announce deaths if we feel you fail a combat encounter bad enough to warrant death being necessary. If you die your character will not come back, but you as the player will be given a grace period we you can 're-join' the waiting line with another reserve character later in the story. So write well, think logically and you will most likely live to see another page of IC posts.

@SleepingSilence Sounds like you're having a wonderful day.

Your use of the emoticon isn't as deeply offensive as it is passive aggressive and kind of stupid. But you've been doing it so much, I think there isn't much use asking you or telling you to stop, but I'm still going to bring it up.

And yes I was reading just fine, you dropped that insult in because you thought I missed the part about Resident Evil 7, but I told you I DID see it but didn't bother mentioning it because acknowledging that game had rednecks did nothing to go against my point.
No amount of good humored toungeface emotions make that any less of an insult, you were simply wrong about me not reading well, accept it.

But refrain using analogies about the deaths of my families and/or mother, its unnecessary. I'm only going to ask once.
And again they mention RE:7. You weren't reading the single paragraph very well. :P

No it shit like this that is bitchy, catty and passive aggressive, but you're still waking up, so have a coffee and use that time to reflect on these pointless comments in your discussions.

:P <<See look I'm using a toungeface emoticon, so you cant get offended!

'Agree to Disagree' indeed.
@SleepingSilence Its a bad meme in your subjective opinion, but luckily, meme quality isn't based on 'how well sleeping silence receives it', so nothing more has to be said there.

Down the thread there was talks of Resident Evil 4, I already know Resi7 is set in the deep south, thats why I didn't bother mentioning it. And fine, I think confused Outlast 1 with 2.

But even if all 4 of those games were all redneck murdering simulators, the number of games which feature right wing christian hillbillies as enemies is still very small comparatively. Therefore there isn't a left wing double standard against straight white christian males in video games.

This is literally all I've been saying over and over again, but I know you really don't like agreeing with me, so you're posting escapist links that add nothing to the argument.

But I agree, lets kill it there (even though I don't think you will for some reason.....)
