Bio

Well hello.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh.

I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.

I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.

I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.

"What do you call a cow with two legs?"
"Lean beef."

Okay, good to know. I'll probably drop a post by Friday for Bonesword and the Frog.

It will definitely not be tomorrow though. I have prom I must attend.
@Inner Demon
Did the clone actually hit Bonesword... or did it vanish at the last second?

If I can bring up a few of my recommendations, I've found great use in Krookodile. I used him when I was participating in an unofficial league back in the day, and while it was singles, my boy found use in doubles as a great Pokemon. Krook has great power from using moves like Knock Off and Earthquake, all while maintaining some level of bulk by investing in maximum HP. I remember the time where he swept an entire team in the league by just existing, and while he unfortunately didn't make it to the very end, he had one of the higher KO-Faint ratios of the league.

I've used Golisopod, and while I absolutely adore it, I've taken to using Araquanid over it for the time being. While Golisopod has incredible strength and priority, I prefer Araquanid because it can accomplish just as much as Goli while not having priority.

Depending on your play style, I've gotten pretty far with my Tsareena (Mainly cuz I'm a weirdo who finds plant girls attractive). Queenly Majesty to prevent priority moves, mostly Fake Out and Protect. Her other moves are Teeter dance for AoC Confusion, Trop Kick as her stab, and Protect if I know there are enemies I can't one-shot. I don't do doubles too often though, though when I do and start with Tsareena I either retrain Teeter Dance with High Jump Kick or, depending if the partner pokemon is not particularly item dependent, just give them a lum berry.

A different, more grindy strategy that you could try but may be difficult for you to pull off in Sun is trying to find yourself a Alola Ninetails. I was able to pull that off on my sister's Pokemon Moon after an hour of hunting. After that just buy TM 70, Aurora Veil, from Heahea City and watch from turn one your Ninetails halves all incoming damage for five turns. Hardly anyone runs brickbreak these days. Granted, as someone who first started in Gen III, this is obviously a more weather focused team. I pair up my Ninetails with a Frolass with snow cloak to summon blizards and set up entry hazards. Beyond that I don't have much else on Ninetails that's very competitive. Blizzard, Dazzling Gleam, and Roar once the Frolass has set up the entry hazards.

I've gone through the struggles of getting an Alolan Ninetails with Snow Warning, Freeze-Dry, Aurora Veil, and Moonblast, and I used it beautifully alongside my Sandslash and they got the job done for a good amount of time. I switched them off the team, but they're still good mons and I will use them if I want to try and run a Hail team.

I may take a lesson from you and use a Tsareena, as the one I had in my main adventure came with either Jolly or Adamant, I can't remember off the top of my head. It could also play a decent support role by carrying Aromatherapy in order to rid the rest of the team of any burdens from Scalds and such.

I tend to run bulkier Pokemon teams, and when I do I don't really care for any speed. My original team from my early competitive days used a Gastrodon, Porygon2, and a Calm Mind Sableye (which worked surprisingly well). Hopefully that'll help with any future advice you have for me.

Thanks by the way.
@POOHEAD189
... yeah... I'd do that anyway.
@POOHEAD189
He was ignored when I posted, but you can assume that Ursaren nodded as a response.
I'm going to assume that there are other Pokemon nerds here aside from Birb, and I'm going to post something off-topic.

I'm trying to get a good doubles team together on my copy of Sun, but I've hit a roadblock and desire to train up some more 'mons to use for a potential team.

Right now I have a solid 3 'mons for the future team, with those 'mons being Loan Shark (Garchomp), Shock Hawk (Tapu Koko), and Marvin (Celesteela).

I've hit a rut with my team and I don't know what to add onto it, so if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to pitch in. I'm considering Oranguru at the moment if it helps at all.
All these characters and their odd powers...

I wanna make a new character now. Maybe a healing robo-Jesus.

Ruben stared blankly at the hand that held the "magical coin", and finally responded after about 5 seconds. "You had the other coins hidden behind the dime." It wasn't hard to see for Ruben, despite him never having seen the trick before (or at least to his memory). Ruben removed the leg that he had attached to his stump and simply laid it in his lap as he continued watching the various sets of magical tricks that Jackson performed to identify what Ruben could do with his Thinkery powers. He hoped that these tricks would escalate in aptitude as time continued, because small tricks like this are rather rudimentary and easy to see through.

OOC Note - No more bolding for me it's too much work.
As Tibulus pulled into the docking area, he swung his chair around to face Stryker as he was leaving. The Funganoid had a small request to make of Stryker, but he wouldn't be too mad if he couldn't manage this. "Yo Stryker... do you think you can swing by somewhere and get a set of cards? It can be like normal playing cards or like stupid party game cards, but just some cards? Oh, and send someone up, like maybe that Joe guy." The ship was kind of dull right now, and the cockpit was starting to get more boring by the minute. Some drunken and absent-minded company would be appreciated for sure it would seem.
Part of me wants to somehow get Kermit to have one of the eyes... I'm not going to do that now, but in the future it would be very tempting...
