I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

Jaden

The lizard-creatures detached the tendrils as soon as Owl-man caught them, causing the organic constructs to quickly retract to the meta's position. The tendril's would attempt to wrap around the Owl, particularly his arms and legs, in an attemot to hold him down. While not the strongest, they would stil be rather difficult to remove or break out of if they did manage to get around him.

Spectrum's blast did blast the creatures back, but they were quick to right themselves, growling at the colorful meta before they scuttled back over to Jaden, meshing back into him as he watched the proceedings from,a safe distance. The mutants upstairs could handle cops, he needed to take these two out of the picture until the system-wipe was done. That in mind, he formed a biological construct that looked like a crossbow, a barbed-bone bolt already loaded, and fired it at the glowing hero, then quickly loaded up another one to fire at Owl-man. The spot's he aimed for where the lower torso, going more for a disabling shot then a kill, though he knew these might as well kill them if they didn't get medical attention

The tendrils were pulled out, but were still alive. The wiggled and thrashes, quickly trying to wrap him up. Luckily, they were gripped in the middle by his talons. Before they could begin to get a good grip he applied the considerable pressure of his grip, messily snipping them in half before throwing the thrashing bundles to the sides.

Then there was another sound, something else souring through the air. Not at him, at Spectrum. He focused his head on it, allowing sound to paint a picture of it in flight even as he heard another fired. He considered how cool it would look if he could snatch that bolt out of the air like he was some sort of kung-fu master but these claws weren't meant to grasp something that thin. So he leaped in front of spectrum, bringing his talons together like a big black ice cream scoop and swinging them into the path of the incoming bolt. He connected, diverting it and sending it clattering to the floor even as another whizzed through the place he'd just been standing.

He turned to Spectrum, and tried to be a quick and clear as possible. He pointed to the door the cops had just gone thorough, then tapped him quickly on the chest, then rotated his wrist and pointed up. Go up. Follow them. They need backup.

Then, hoping that his intent had gotten through, and turned and ran toward the railing. Those shots had come from the ceiling, and now there was only one heartbeat up there. He hated doing it but he brought his talon up to the neck of his suit and brought it down, ripping the poor thing right down and throwing off the ruined remains to expose his chest and back. Then he jumped up onto and over the railing, and there was a sick organic pop as his wings sprung out from his back in a flurry of feathers. He beat them, the flapping producing no noise at all, as he let them carry him to the ceiling and the source of all those sounds.

@Weird Tales
Guess I'll add Remy to the big pile of "characters that never got to do anything." Maybe I'll bust him out the next time I see a One Piece RP.
Hey @Weird Tales, you want to rock paper scissors for who goes up the stairs to complete the objective and who stays to stall Jaden and dies?
So. . . Insomnium might need some cool down time before anyone tries to approaxh him, as he's in full out berserker mode right now. Decided to have Damien off the acid dragon, as he doesn't get enough sceerntime.

What about Spectrum's attack? He launched one at the lizards.

She probably wont tame it tbh. Shes just playing around.

Just beat on it and throw a pokeball at it.

Nate teaches Jackson how to use the enviroment to his advantage and all that fun tactical stuff.

Where is Light needed, or should she just cool aid man another fight?

You're looking for hostages and a pregnant woman. I'd say bust heads in that general direction.
"Well, I figured we just hang out here, wait for the Marines to run off all the pirates, and then tell them we just got caught up in everything when it happened." Not a lie, in Remy's case. Not even close to a lie. "I'm a local. My boss can vouch that I'm not a pirate, and so long as you don't have a bounty I can vouch for you and say that you and I met a few days ago and you definitely weren't here for any Straw Hat announcement."

"Then, you can, you know, head for the Grand Line without any hastle and, maybe, you know, sort of, take me with you?"
@Raijinslayer

They were up the stairs when he heard the sounds, little pops too delicate for the ears of a human to detect. But to an owl they came through load and clear in the darkend interior. He leaned back a little, as though stretching, the special feathers of his face funneling sound from the ceiling into his two asymmetrical ear holes and allowed the sound to paint a mental map of the ceiling. There were other sounds now. Shallow breathing. Heartbeats. These sounds spread out inside and outside the creatures, painting them in sound even when the eye could not see them.

How long would they let them go? How close too the emergency stairs would they be allowed to get, before they attacked? He couldn't warn them subtly. When he made his move it would, by necessity, be loud. But that didn't mean his setup had to be. He slowed down, allowing Spectrum and the police to pass him on their way to the door, put himself behind them. The men were in tight formation, ready to form up and clear the entryway to the stairs.

It was the only thing that let him protect all of them.

The five shadows on the ceiling drew in their breath as one, and their was a sick organic sound as five things flew through the air at the cops. Not the creatures themselves, no, something else. Something long, tubular. He could see them as cleary as though he were looking at them. They flew only slightly past him befor his arms were sweeping through the air, sliding the disgusting things into talons like bear traps, gathering the all up into his hands which he clutched and pulled. He screeched a warning and jerked his head to try and get them to keep going as they turned, and the apparent leader nodded and hurried his men through the door. The Owlman focused on Spectrum and repeated the head motion even more urgently.
Spectrum was curious to see how this mission would go especially since he was working with the mysterious Owlman. Charles didn't know too much about the hero, but he wasn't sure if the hero's communications skills was not going to possibly jeopardize the whole mission. When he saw the hero indicate for them to go into the building, Spectrum followed him in and looked around to see what they were getting into.

His rainbow aura illuminated whatever was inside in case it was in any darkness and he hoped that his powers didn't get them busted by any guards of the corporation.

The Owlman laid his makeshift shield on the ground once they got inside, noting the scorch marks and melted crators. The run in here hadn't been unnoticed. Then the room was bathed in rainbow light, casting everything in a strange pallet. The dark room was suddely like something out of The Masque of the Red Death, but it was necessary because it had been black when they'd bashed open the doors. The police must have already cut the power in anticipation of a siege, and the buildings brutalist sensibilities didn't allow much in the way of windows.

The reception area wasn't very homey. Stark walls with benches set intermittently along them. A circular desk standing at the center of the room, deserted. Behind that, stairs leading up to an elevated platform overlooking the room where you could take the elevators up further. Since the walls were bare down hear save for some bathrooms the emergency stairs must be up there.

"You hear anyone?" one of the black suited SWAT officers said, striding up behind him. The Owlman turner and was thankful that five of the men had chosen to follow them in. He shook his head no. He didn't hear anything alive in the room. The man nooded, "Right, lets get somewhere more defensible before anything else."

The Owlman lead the way upstairs, ears open to give early warning of any trouble waiting for them.
So, how big is this building? We talking ten stories, twenty, and what sort of opposition are we going to be facing on the way up?

Also did any cops follow us in?
