I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

Mutt? The big lug tried to cover it by adding "in the nicest possible way" but Jake wasn't sure that could be taken any way other than an insult. When they arrived at the infirmary, even more people gave him an annoyed look. Jake was conflicted. He kind of liked annoying people but not with his mere presence. They passed by a bed in which lay a young woman fast asleep. He wondered what was wrong with her. Her arm looked like it had been pretty badly hurt.

He was placed on a bed nearby and after a little back and forth between the big lug and one of the doctors, the doc started to remove the glass shards from Jake. He instantly began to feel better as his wounds closed, his body knitting itself back together. The reactions from those around him were both loud and amusing. Jake liked shocking people, especially when that shock involved them realizing that he was more than just some mutt. The look on their faces was priceless. They tried to make sense of what they saw, as people were inclined to do. Jake had been trying to figure out the same thing for a long time now.

Then the pretty boy talked at him. "If you can understand me, try and send me something." he said.
Jake lifted his head up from the bed and gave Max an almost exasperated look before thinking at him "You want me to send you something? Sure, I'll send you something" and then he audibly farted.

Max, for his part, kept a stone face as he took two steps back from that godawful stench before looking at Damien. "Well," he said, breathing through his mouth. "He's sentient." And a dickhead, he though, before turning his attention back to the dog. "Sooo, you got a name and tragic backstory to go with those superpowers of yours?"

Note that humanity is going to go down HARD here. Like, multiple Alaska Cannons. It was the cultural infection of the Zentraedi that motivated bringing in the main fleet that toasted Earth in the show, and if that takes longer, then Earth as more time to prepare and build up defenses. Maybe not enough to win, but they're going to be able to do quite a bit of damage.

Probably enough to kill most of the sympathetic Zentradi we meet in the show off before the main fleet shows up and buries the human race. Win/Win for the Shadow Line.
Before I post with Jake again, who exactly is in the infirmary besides Damien and Max and assorted doctors and nurses? Is Aya there or is she in a different room? Anyone else?

Yeah. Aya plopped down so she's still there, and probably a few of the Underground metas Cedric recruited, but I think you beat the rush. I imagine this place is going to be getting pretty packed soon by people recovering from the New Sun fight.
"Nooo. Uh, no, no." Max replied coming up, sort of speechless at what he was seeing. Of course, that couldn't last. "I, I mean, like in theory it would be possible because, like, you saw on the news. Hell, you were probably there, dragons and hydras and shit. Animals, obviously, but with powers. You saw this guy down there? Maybe he's something like that, something somebody made. Orrrr he could be a guy who turned into a dog. Check the Owlman's blog sometimes, people turn into all sorts of things, I'd totally believe someone's meta 'thing' turned them into a superpowered dog. I... wait, hold on, I think I can do this."

He looked down at the rapidly healing dog, and spoke very clearly to him. "Hey, buddy, I don't know if you can understand me but I have powers like you. If someone thinks at me I can hear that. Not about me. Not around me. I can't read your mind. You have to direct your thoughts directly at me like you would your voice. If you can understand me, try and send me something."

Name: Joey Jocoby
Age: 17
Appearance: Tall, well built, deeply tanned boy with slicked back black hair.
Powers/Equipment: Joe has no equipment, having thrown away the strange arrowhead that feel from the sky and sliced open his right cheek before realizing that it had given him the ability to manifest a 「Stand」.

『Diamonds Are Forever』
Destructive Power: E
Speed: A
Range: A
Durability: C
Precision: A
Development Potential: B

Diamonds Are Forever manifests as a pair of clockwork, beetle like insects about the size of a human fist. Each one has a large, diamond like jewel implanted on its back which opens up to allow its wings to come out for flight. When one of the beetles lands on something a buries its legs in it the thing looses its ability to 「change」. It can not be moved, damaged, or take in any new information. In effect, anything under Diamonds Are Forever's effects becomes constant, frozen in an unchanging moment until the Stand moves on to something else.

Personality: Outwardly outgoing and confident, Joe is deeply insecure about the future and has taken the view that perhaps if he doesn't acknowledge it the future will pass him and his life by and leave everything the same. As such, he lives almost exclusively in the now and doesn't consider the consequences of his actions very far into the future. As he's started to notice that the future is coming whether he wants it or not he's begun looking for an escape.

Brief Backstory: Joe is in his last year of high school, and was looking forward to college from a baseball scholarship before a car accident crippled his pitching arm. He's on the island for his very last school trip before graduation and being here kind of brings it home to him that everything is going to be changing soon.

Other: Joe's right arm is noticeably weaker than his left.

Arc Sheet:

World: Super Dimension Fortress Macross/Robotech.
What Changed?: Someone sabotages the three Zentradi spies ship, stranding them on the Macross. They never make it back and expose their comrades to Lynn Minmay. Without that, there is no dissent among the Zentradi ranks and the human race is going to get pasted when they start fighting for real.

World: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run universe.
What Changed?: Another contestant, who wasn't there before, shoots Johnny Joestar's horse out from under him during the first segment of the Steel Ball Run and is disqualified. Without Johnny Gyro is going to get killed by the Boom-Boom family, Dio remains a mindless dinosaur, and President Valentines plot to collect the Holy Corpse parts will proceed without a hitch.
Alternative: Someone collects Dio's head from the train tracks before Lucy Steel gets the chance, she doesn't use it to kill Alternate Universe Dio, he takes possession of the Holy Corpse.
I'm also into this.
Damien

"Owwwwwww." Damien groaned as he slowly came into consciousness on the ground in front of the Reformist building. . . wait, what? Damien slowly got himself up, feeling not at all okay after Insomnium's rash, though considering the sequence of events, rather needed use of Apocalypse. The emptiness he felt was very unsettling, as he had become so used to having the flow of energy rushing through his system. Oh well, he had 3 days to recover, and plenty of time o kill, so it was time to focus on the present situation, why the hell was he in front of this building. The answer,a dog, by the looks of things, and it seemed to be in pretty bad shape too. He gently removed his leg from it's jaws and stood himself up, cracking his neck as he did so.

Once he was sure nothing was broken, he then picked the dog up, which was hard because the fucker was heavy, but Damien didn't complain. The mutt had dragged him away from the hellhole that was New Sun Plaza to here while covered in broken shards of glass, the very least he could do was help it get inside. ONce he got inside he saw Max, the guy that Damien was convinced had the Meta power of looking like perfect no matter what. Seriously, nobody looked that good, nobody. Damien had seen him turn a straight man gay by saying 5 words to the guy. . . and he wasn't even trying too! Max tried to deny it, but Damien would never be dissauded from his assured belief.

"Hey Adonis, I got an injured Hero dog that needs some medical attention. I know this isn't a vet, but considering he saved my life, can we cut him some slack, he's hurt pretty bad."

@Gentlemanvaultboy

Max was just walking back into the room, talking loudly on his earpiece. "Noooo, leave her where she is for now. Dude, you didn't see her. Even the walk to the infirmary was nearly too much, just find an empty room and bring her luggage there. I mean, yeah, of course she has to be meta otherwise she wouldn't have brought luggage here. Nice, just kick it up the chain and we'll see if we can get a description of this blood murder guy once she wakes up."

That's when Damien caught his attention, and he saw the sorry state of the dog in his arms. At first he threw his hands up in frustration. A dog. A literal stray off the street. This was getting to be a bit much.

On the other hand, he wasn't about to be the man who let a hero dog bleed out on their doorstep. He would not be able to live with himself. Rushing up and giving the thing a once over he looked a Damien, decided that this was worth a citation, and went, "Yeah, sure, why not. Come on, infirmary. Jesus, what did it do, dive through a window to save you Resident Evil style?"

This was going to cost him every favor he had with the infirmary staff.
Aya couldn't help flinching away when the man rushed to her side to lead her to a chair. He was tall, unnaturally handsome, practically dripping with concern… for a moment she saw Sebastian's face on this new stranger's body and she felt her heart jump into her throat, if only for a moment. He even looked to be about the same age. But… it was probably nothing, she told herself. Los Angeles was full of tall, handsome men, and so far she'd only met one homicidal maniac. It wouldn't do to let one bad apple taint the lot.

Good lord, she was tired.

Raising a hand to accept the offered water, she let out a soft thanks and drank until the bottle was empty.

"Aya," she finally said. "My name is Aya. I was coming home from work, when…" She trailed off and saw the day's events play out in her mind: watching Sebastian massacre a family, following him, the torture. Without realizing what she was doing, Aya shook her head against the memories, squeezing her eyes shut. She raised both of her hands and pressed the heels of her palms into her eyes. "He… there's a man. His name is Sebastian Lyone. He was…" Aya lowered her hands and sighed as she tried to order her thoughts around and remember what she needed to through her haze. "I don't know, the Underground movement had him locked up or something, but now he's out and working for them. Today he made a deal with Isabella and that doctor with the dragons and that little French girl…" Had she ever gotten their names? Aya couldn't remember, but she hoped it all meant something to Max. "He's supposed to attack Reformists until after Eden's born.

"He's dangerous… murderous."
She looked down at her right hand and looked at the marks he had left – the scabbed-over wound in her palm where he'd poisoned her and the angry purple bruise fully formed on her wrist where he'd used blood to hold her up. "He can control blood and make it do anything he wants – even turn it to acid and burn you away from the inside out." She looked back up at Max. "I'm sorry, this probably isn't much. I just… thought I should warn you."

@Gentlemanvaultboy

Wait, this girl had watched this mystery man make a deal with Lancaster? Where exactly had she seen that fro-

Holy Christ her hand! What the hell, how the hell couldn't he have seen that before? This whole war deal had him completely out of whack. He knew that part of their procedure was hunting down criminals, but fighting a meta war wasn't what he'd singed on for. He kept that concern out of his voice, though. No need to burden her with it.

"Trust me Aya, it's actually a lot. Our boss had to send in a team without any information today and, well, you can see the result of that on the news. Just knowing that this guy's out there helps us. But that isn't important right now, do you think you can walk? I want to take you to medical before they start carting everybody back here, have them take a look at your injuries. Can you come with me?"

Provided she accented, Max lead her to the medical facilities.
@Letter Bee a-hunting i will go, then.
