Bio

Writer, reader, gamer and lover of strong women who take what they wish. Yandere are my thing I guess, and it is a trait in many of my favorite characters in one way or another. Be it minor, or rarely as their whole thing. Don't worry though, I would be a terrible writer if my characters had no variety or flexibility, and if I am anything, I am flexible.

Magical Abilities : In simple terms, portals. In a few more words, Jacob can literally bend reality in order to close the distance between two locations. The stability and accuracy of these portals depend greatly upon Jacob's wellbeing, and any use of these portals is taxing on him.

Gateways- The more traditional portal, Gateways have several requirements. For a location to be come a permanent gateway location Jacob must set up an Anchor. Anchors are magic sigils that allow Jacob to properly lock onto a desired location without having to have visual contact. Anchored gateways preserve energy, allowing Jacob to transport more people in one go and nearly eliminate the energy over distance requirement for unanchoreed gateways. Jacob can only have four Anchors active at any time, and Anchors can be easily destroyed, Jacob is notified if one is destroyed.

Blink- A short range movment spell derived from Gateway. Unable to move a target farther than a few feet, Blink has trouble moving anyone other than Jacob, and impossible for those not in physical contact with him. Like Gateway, the number and size of occupants as well as repeated use is extremely tiring. Unlike gateway, Blink is instant and can move Jacob beyond thin walls with or without eye contact.

Personality:Jacob tends to be the last person to give up and the first to leap into danger to save a freind, though that may be due simply to how long it takes for him to trust people. Those who Jacob trusts can count on a quick getaway in any situation. Jacob's trust however, can harm him as well. Unfortunately he tends to be a bit blind, always seeing the best in his friends even if that good part does not exist. In this way, he has been tricked by the suave and manipulative before.

In the end, Jacob is still a kid. He yearns for a family and yet his previous experience with people have all gone sour. He retains a sense of childlike wonder that only adds to how difficult it is for people to take him seriously.

History/Bio:Born to a Japanese woman and an American man, Jacob was quickly given up for adoption by his teenaged mother. Moving from home to home Jacob eventually found himself living with the Hare family, A group of wealthy Texans running a string of BBQ restaurants worldwide. Through the Hare family Jacob found a place to call home, this was not to last however.

It was soon after the beatings started that Jacob developed his powers, and also when the strangers arrived. They called themselves Magi, and as unsure as Jacob was he immediately went with them, anything to get away. This was how Jacob joined the guild.

He spent his time honing his powers by transporting various guild members to various locations, mainly the new Anchors turned safehouses for guild members on the outside. Jacob enjoys the guild, but hates hiding away from the world, he yearns for a chance to be outside without having to worry about people learning about him and flipping out.

Well yea obviously they would not remain neutral forever. My point was more to have a character who saw both sides had valid points. That the guild was at least partially correct for wanting to try and regulate the magi, and dark shadow is hard not to sympathise with when they are essentially wanting to stop genocide even if they may go a bit overboard in the character's opinion.

At any rate, if the character being neutral is a problem you can count on another cs for the guild, they seem to be lacking atm.
@jakeb1993 want to join in, how does portals sound? Limited ofc. I have this sort of idea for a generally neutral character that would prove an asset to either side, but if I had to put them somewhere it would be with the " terrorists "

Hey GM, I have a certain love for playing the more monsterous races, be they half ' human ' or not. Would a character race such as goblin, nymph, lamia, or even those suffering from lycanthropy ( not the cutsie kind where you can control it ) be allowed? If not, are there specific races playable? Or did I miss something in the intch? I might have missed something anyways due to my lack of sleep but this seems interesting nevertheless.
Possible interest, there still room for another person?

Hello and welcome to Halted Breath, my attempt at a Sci-Fi horror group. Let's cut to the chase yes?

First, I should not have to mention since this is in the advanced catagory, but decent post lengths and attendance are a must. I am very flexible however and understand life comes first, but if you are gone for a week without any warning I will assume you have lost interest.

Now, this rp is set upon UFS Hope, a large military spacecraft turned research platform. After years of experimentation combining AI technologies and human brain tissue, a breakthrough has been made, though most likely too late. The ship was attacked by an unknown assailant and crippled. This left 85% of the crew dead, with the other 15% stranded in deep space with no known way of contacting help.

For the remaining crew, they have two jobs in this situation. First, contain the survivors of the ALPHA project and survive. The ALPHA project survivors have only one goal, escape. This would all be simple enough were it not for the very reason the ALPHA project was started, we are not alone in the universe.

Will you team up and survive? Will the crew disregard their job and help escape with the Alpha subjects? Will the Alpha subjects be able to forget the physical and mental torture they experienced and help as many people escape as possible? Or will madness decend, leaving everyone to fend for themselves?

First, I would like to see how many people would want to be playing crew members, and who Alpha subjects.

Scientists will be the only crew members who have acess to almost the entire ship aside from the captain. They will also be the only crew members who know how to track the Alpha subjects through connection with the Central AI known as MOTHER.

Guards will have millitary training and will have acess to weapon lockers and other simmilar areas that scientists do not.

There are other living crew members, but not many aside from those above were important enough to preserve in cryogenic suspension.

Alpha subjects themselves will have nearly no proper acess to the ship, but have a connection to the now rouge MOTHER AI, who has taken her role and name a bit too seriously. MOTHER has the same acess as the scientists but may often need to be convinced to do certain things, especially if they may put her " children " in danger.

Some Alpha subjects were also used to experiment with cybernetic enhancement. Enhanced strength and tissue regeneration to name two. Ideas are more than welcome and expected.
Well currently including me we seem to have 4 people interested, will have an ooc up soon, tomorrow at the latest.
