Today was going to be a good day. It had to be.

The tall brunette pulled the dark hoodie over her head and tugged at the dark bandanna round her neck. Around her right light caramel coloured hand, she had a fishbone chained necklace clutched tight. The pendant, old and dulled like love that lost its lustre, swung away freely. Dusky full lips caught the pendant with a soft and lingering kiss. Her left hand reached at her baggy, yet shapely butt hugging, capri cut slacks and straightened them out. And of course she snugged up the 9mm killing iron tucked at the waistband.

Today was going to be a good day. It just had to be.

It was moving day. And that meant someone may have to die.

“Today is gunna’ be a good day. Gunna see ya soon, baby bro...”

Just More Intro Fluff

The pendant necklace she would slip around her neck once more and hope that it kept her on the right path back to him. But then of course fate had to step in. Oblivious to the twist of fate, dark eyes watched as the woman in the parking lot had started her car but had left the bagged leftover container and take out coffee cup up top on the sedan’s rooftop.

It was perfect. All she had to do was pick up her bags, hustle on over to the grey sedan, call out to the lady, point to the rooftop and help the kind lady out. The tall brunette would do a favour for a good citizen; she would help unburden the good citizen from their vehicle. Whether by speed, trickery or force she would have that car. And she would be one step closer to being back home. It did not matter how many cars she took or what path she took, even if it meant putting a bullet in a kind, good citizen’s head, she would make it back to him.

But as had been stated before; of course fate had to step in.

Just before she picked up her bags, one worth 90,000 USD and the other worth 135,600 USD, a sharp cry from a woman shot out from the small window to the building that she had been leaning against. She had been timing her actions, waiting for the two cars to pass and block her from sight as she moved in on her mark. The sharp cry for help, gave her a mild start, but it was enough to draw her attention away from attempting her ‘one less car’ routine.

If she only knew. If she only knew…

With the chaos going inside the diner and the ensuing cavalcade of even more chaos caused by the spectacle in Duskwick, she would take the car and make it nearly back to her home town with a full tank of gas. With the ‘proof’ of the ‘happenings’ in this peculiar, cozy town coming to fruition, the perfect distraction would be taking place, allowing her to slip past any wary eye, whether plain citizen or that of the dreaded law-enforcement. The woman with the current alias of ‘Cherelle Alicia Tanner’ would get away and be less than 2 hours away from where her heart’s desire lay. After all these years, ‘Cheri’ would make it right.

If she only knew...

But she did not. She did not know that if she just let things be and kept them filed away as ‘not my damned business,’ she would soon be merely 2 hours away from vindication and utter relief. But she reacted against better judgement and fell into step with this twist of fate.

The cries for help sounded real enough, and just like curiosity would a cat, Cheri just had to check it out.

The window opened up wide enough for her to poke her head in. Dark thin eyebrows popped up once with much surprise then suddenly arched downward in a full on bitch scowl. “The actual fu—c’mon man!! ‘The hell is this…?! Is this some kinda’ joke?!”

It had to be a joke. The setup was elaborate, lavish, and, all things considered, well done. There were vines every where and they crept and crawled and looked real enough. There was a lady, undoubtedly an actor, that was hopping up and down on a toilet. Then there was a gigantic striped cat with equally gigantic paws. Nice setup, but Cheri was not falling for it. She had better things to do, so she would just leave them with a piece of her mind.

“’The hell is wrong wit you people?!?!” she growled while pointing a very accusing finger into the opening, “All dis shit goin’ down and you try and pull this prankster BS?! Man, y’all just drag that poor kitty in on dis too! Damn, lady! Oughta be ashamed o’ y’all selves!!”

This practical joke was no laughing matter to Cheri.

Dark Spanish eyes sparked into life, burning like the sun during an eclipse. A different kind of urgency fell over her now. She pulled herself out from the bathroom window, grabbed her things and rushed on over to the main entry way to the diner. She pushed and shoved at the scampering crowd in mass exodus, gushing out from the diner’s main doors.

HOW ARE THEY BEST RECOGNIZED IN A CROWD?
Ummm... yeah. New hairstyle. It's gotta be the bangs across my forehead. And yeah, that and my big, dark eyes too. People call them 'Spanish Eyes.' Wutevs. I like 'em. Oh. And I am a tall girlie... like 5'10 or 5'11?

But I don't dress like i wanna try to stand out if you really need to know. People on the run usually don't. But I guess the other thing that makes me stand out is that in this whitebread town, I'm kinda' this 'exotic looking' 20-something year old chick... which doesn't help my cover but still, yeah. So I'm part black, part asian of 2 types, part latina and yeah... half white. I'm pretty well built for someone who doesn't eat a lot... yeah your girlie here is hiding a lot of muscles. So I gots smaller than average boobs-- But! I'm nicely developed in the lower half. Thumpin' bass and legs that go on foreeeeeevah...! Lit af, boi!!

they just hide inside you. Listen, it's just some folk let them out more often and these folks are waaaaaay more willing to let the monsters loose upon others. They crave it.

But it's always the good people that can hide away the monsters the best. Yet those are the folks that always get hurt by monsters the most; and seems like the victims are always the innocent little ones. Makes me want to hunt down those people with willing monsters in them and put two bullets into their wicked, evil head and one bullet into their mean, unworthy heart.
