It was good, especially for mobile. I'm surprised you had the patience for such a long post.

Also, you did an excellent job of embodying the Ascendants. I do want to say that the distraction and "fading" actually applies to all Ascendants, regardless of elemental ratio. It increases as their affinity does.
Trap Path and Ispep still need to post.
Don't worry about it, Sing. Just going forward, you know?

Trap: All cool. Though, your first picture is broken, I think.

Drall. Dude, brush up your grammar. Capitalization, punctuation. Dialogue format. Fix it, I don't want to look at that.
Oh, and Sing:

You had it right, they "connect" when they meditate. The Monks generally assume that they meditate at least once a day, though. They wouldn't be in as much of a rush as the Knights.
Sage said Is smoking illegal in this world?

No, I meant when you were in the launch bay, you were on duty.

Sage said I was under the assumption that it would be considered a minor disciplinary misdemeanor, not an act of terrorism.

Crimes aren't classified as either minor infraction or terrorism, there's a whole spectrum. But the main reason you'd be in a great deal of trouble is because you are supposed to uphold and enforce the law. You are held especially accountable for breaking it.
Sage said I also was under the assumption, that, since our characters are supposed to be young (15-20) they would be in some sort of training, and not actually be leading the nation.

True, our characters aren't leaders, but the Consortium is the governing body of the Protectorate. Again, things aren't "this or that." Just because you work for the government, doesn't mean you're a senator.
Sage said But I'm still not sure about the whole smoking thing. I mean, is your character secretly smoking cigarettes? Or is smoking not actually illegal, but it's more of a status thing and would be frowned upon?

It's more about where you're doing it than that you're doing it. I also was under the assumption that your character was smoking something a little stronger than tobacco. Which is a double no-no when on duty(so just don't get caught).

Sage said As for the weapons, wouldn't people with powers be able to handle someone with guns? I.E someone with fade just having the bullets pass through them/someone with geolancy blocking them/etc

Your powers are finite, especially in the beginning. Later, when your character is stronger, you can probably get away with not using a gun. But right now, you would die.

Sage said Like in X-men- the mutants make short work out of soldiers and never use guns to fight other mutants.

That's because it's a comic book. In real life(even allowing for their powers) bullets would work pretty fucking good against most mutants. I can think of a few exceptions, but there are powers in this world that would make you effectively bulletproof too.

Sage said If someone can shoot fireballs and fly, a gun would be... Unnecessary.

On the contrary, a gun would be useful as fuck if you could fly. How effectively do you think fireballs would kill people? Because I think you're drastically overestimating fire's stopping power.

Sage said But if you want to make it a requirement, can I make it like a cool ass revolver like in Fallout? Or does it have to be an assault rifle/similar heavy weapon?

I wouldn't really qualify an assault rifle as a heavy weapon, but you can use a freaking bow if you want. Just think carefully about what kind of weapon you want to have when you're being shot at.

Trap: I left that out on purpose, do not add it in. I said this to Sage in a PM so I'll repeat it here: All the characters have basically the same backstory, the only thing you could add to it is how they feel about their situation/life. You can make that apparent through IC posts, there's no need to describe it.

Ispep: It's... awkward and impractical. I guess you could with the technology of the world, but you wouldn't be allowed to. Part of Ascendant philosophy is a detachment from your body. It wouldn't make much sense for one to modify theirs at all, let alone in such an extreme way.
Oh god damn it.

I took too like to write my post and Ghost ninja'd me.
Will sat through a short, uninformative public meeting, and was made to leave for the more useful private council meeting. At least, he hoped it would be more useful. It may be the case that they sent the public away to hide their ignorance on the matter. It irked him a little that the council and the "elders" had members to whom he could easily have been a great great grandparent. Of course... it also had members who made him look just as young.

But now he must brave the sun again. He put his hood up and walked out the door, ahead of a lot of the group, as he had been hanging at the back of the room. He was already up at this ungodly hour of the day, and figured he may as well join in on the gossip so he didn't get it all late after the sun set. He walked up alongside Jenna Silvers as she left.
"Miss Silvers," he greeted in a friendly tone of voice, "How are you this," he smirked as he pulled his hood further over his face, "Fine day."

He spared a glance and half smile for Rose. She troubled him some, and he was never sure why.
Sage: This is not an anime high school RP. If your character, a member of this country's military/governing body was caught repeatedly breaking the law he wouldn't get detention. He would be arrested, and possibly discharged. The discharge would probably bring ostracism within Spire City at least, and it's possible he'd have to leave the Protectorate altogether to escape from the stigma against him.

I'm fine with a character having a dislike for the system they were brought up in, and rebelling against it in small ways(rejecting philosophy and uniform etc) but open rebellion and breaking the Consortium's laws would carry more stiff penalties than you seem to think. Again, your character is not in high school, he is a member of this world's military. Your post and your character's actions just aren't in keeping with the themes and mood of this RP.
And smoking in a Consortium facility is a sure fire way to get caught and suffer all those consequences I just mentioned. It's not like there's nobody else there.
And don't link things in your posts. It interrupts the narrative.

Everyone: I am making a slight addition to the CS, there will now be a long range weapon and a melee weapon as well. Because when I said just one weapon, a lot of people chose melee weapons, and, well, your enemies might have guns. If your character prefers fighting close up that's just awesome, but if that's the only way they can fight they will die.
EDIT: Let's say a close and a long range, both could be guns if you like.

Most of the Monks: We'll skip past this for now since what's done is done, but the most likely way for your superiors to get a hold of you would be through the Monks' collective meditation. I suppose Cade would be an exception, since he refuses to participate.
The first IC post is up.
Your people will be ordered to report to a launch bay in the Spire of Sky.
Somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere

Oldin sat with her legs crossed, naked from the waist up as she washed her armor in a creek and smoked her last cigarette. This was day one hundred and thirty seven of her self imposed survival test in the *Interstate Wilderness. She had hunted for food for all but the first month, and had gone hungry for more than a few week long stretches. She felt she was in good shape on the whole right now; she was well fed and had clean water, and she had developed a sense for living things around her. Hunting was a breeze when not so much as a sparrow could fly overhead without you knowing. She was still working on differentiating animals, and tuning out the "static" that was insect and plant life.
Her only complaints were her dwindling-now-gone supply of coffin nails, and the Spire of Earth's two week long ongoing radio silence.

The Spire of Earth, Spire City
Auldus Vull, Lord of the Knights, Veleran Hodin, Master of the Ascendants, and a young man who sat in mediation were gathered in the rooftop courtyard of the Spire of Earth. Vull was looking out over the edge of the roof, across the cityscape over the Earth District. They had gathered together to discuss possible new additions to the Human Protectorate. So far every settlement and city-state on the list was requesting to join, on the condition that they did not have to give up their children in the "barbaric" practice of the Hero's Consortium. And so far every one had been sent a letter of refusal.
The last on the list was the city-State of South Haven, which was causing some amount of consternation between the three.
"They've refused the Choosing every time we've offered protection," Vull repeated his argument, as adamantly as ever. You don't become the Lord of Earth by giving in easily in any confrontation. "Why accept it now? I don't trust that they won't change their mind and refuse to surrender recruits come next Choosing. And they're so far below the **Last Line that we can't spare Heroes to go down there every time we need to remind them of their fealty."

Hoden finally spoke, slowly and apparently with great effort and thought, as if he were intoxicated and having difficulty focusing on the matter at hand. "Let me put this in a soldier's terms for you. If South Haven were to join us, we could leave an outpost there, and it would expand our influence, and present a further line of defense against the Orsim."

"Tempting," Vull brushed Hoden off roughly, "But I know you just want to get closer to those Void slinging barbarians. Want a little look-see. I'm not buying it."

"It is possible," the young man spoke, his voice echoing and distant, "That they have changed their mind out of fear. Perhaps the Orsim are closing in? It would not be right to leave them to their fate. And whether part of the Protectorate or not, we are sworn to preserve humanity."

Vull turned to face them again. "Ganging up on me? I can appreciate that tactic in a fight but I don't like it when you two agree on something. A compromise, then." He spoke the word like it tasted greasy and foul, "We'll send a group down to take a look. There's plenty of young Heroes who are eager for adventure. In fact," he pressed on a small screen on the wrist of his armor. A holographic display appeared, reading out esoteric information to him. "I have a Knight out pretty close to there. She wandered below the Last Line and out of communication range. When our fire team hits the Last Line they can put out a short wave comm to try to hail her. Give me a list of who you want to send, and give them orders to meet at the Sky Spire launching bay." He turned back to face his home district, annoyed at being made to do something he didn't want to.

*The Interstate Wilderness is the largely uninhabited space between the city states that make up the Human Protectorate. It is dotted with the occasional hermit, small settlement, or old ruin. But for the most part, it's wild.

**The Last Line is a line of latitude drawn on the globe that marks the furthest south from Spire City that the Consortium has any control. About twenty miles past the Last Line radio communication back to the City diminishes and eventually disappears.
