I'm just giving you a hard time, Master. I love MtG, I actually use cardart pictures for character inspiration.
Oh yeah, I meant to have Little Brother do something useful in that regard in my post.

I'm going to keep waiting on Vance, since he's consistently checking in and we know he's still around, but I am going to go back and edit my post to give Sin an in.
It's not a problem, you can jump in as soon as you're back. I really just don't want you getting left behind, as the game is moving pretty fast.
Name: Charlene Springer
Alias: Filth
Age: 17
Powers: Increased agility, strength and durability, especially when engulfed in the Symbiote. Powers increase with the more of her body she allows the Symbiote to bond to.
Skills:

Personality: Rather create and reveal through IC.
History: One of her biological parents was infected with a Symbiote, and when Charlene was born, so was an infant of the same species, already bonded to her. She was abandoned at birth, she has always thought it was because of her condition, but never knew for sure. She bounced back and forth between foster homes her whole life, and most recently has taken to living on the streets. Her powers have allowed her to go wherever she pleases with impunity, as those thugs who don't already know not to mess with her learn very fast. After Project Excalibur, she's been forced to be much less open about her powers, and has joined the Spider Men and Women of New York.

Name: Nyame, Star Caller.
Race: Leonin
Gender: Male
Class: Wizard

Background: Nyame's people come from a plains nation out of the way of most of civilization. They are a nomadic race of humanoid lions, known for their ferocity in battle and cold attitude towards outsiders. They are both shepherds and hunters, and are known, magically, primarily for druidism. Though Druids make up most of their mages, they do have a smaller tradition of wizardry that is based upon power derived from celestial bodies. Nyame, whose family title Star Caller is an allusion to their astrology based magic, comes from this tradition.

The Leonin have only recently been approached by outsiders, hence their less than welcome attitude towards them, but the Crescent Academy sent an agent to invite some of their Mages to the school, in hopes of trading knowledge. The Star Callers debated the subject, and in the end their youngest, Nyame, was sent to the school to learn what he can.

Other: Though the Crescent Academy originally wanted to gain knowledge from the Star Callers, Nyame has thus far been rather tight lipped about the specifics of his magic. He is still learning the culture and even the written language that is common to other people. Though he's perfectly willing to demonstrate his skill, he doesn't trust most of the outsiders enough to share with them the technique behind it.

Star Caller's Staff: A staff that stands as tall as Nyame, and topped with a spherical crystal. Upon basic observation, the crystal looks to be full of small imperfections, though the surface itself is quite clear. The shaft of the staff is wood, and carved with astronomical signs and diagrams. It is the equivalent of a dictionary to him, and even a minor damage could erase the esoteric knowledge, and require weeks to years of intensive study of the sky to re-write.
Despite this, the shaft is mundane compared to the crystal. Though magic was used in the creation of the crystal, mathematics actually played a greater role, and the crystal is not inherently magical itself. What it is is a star map. The miniscule "flaws" one can see on the inside of the transparent crystal are actually quite intentional features. When one stands on flat ground, on a clear day, it can show one the exact position of stars at that time of day. It takes some knowledge to utilize properly, as it has to be rotated to face the sun at exactly the right side, to account for the exact day of the year.
Even when not in use, the crystal atop the staff is always casting images of constellations and other celestial bodies as light passes through it.
Would you prefer I wait on you before posting?
If you're still away I'd actually prefer you didn't post right now. We can say that your character hasn't joined us yet. But the IC is moving very quickly around here, and I think you'll either be left behind anyway, or else slow us down until you return.
As Kira was momentarily distracted tying up her catch, a lab table flew across the room, aimed skillfully at her crouched form. On the other side of the table's ballistic arch was one of the known meta's from the briefing, Tank. He was already ripping another table from where it was secured on the ground.

Meanwhile, Little Brother didn't take a moment to thank Silk Worm, and was already taking another action. He retracted his staff into a shorter baton, and hooked the spool of wire on his belt to the handle end. He pulled a length of the wire as he took a count of targets, something he was quite good at doing in a short amount of time.

He counted eleven thugs, only five were known entities, and three civilians. Tank was easily spotted, he was causing destruction, and Little Bro caught flames on the easternmost side of the room, and assumed Torch to be there, though he couldn't make out what he was doing through the crowd. The thugs were causing a lot of wonton destruction, but they were also cherrypicking items they apparently deemed valuable, and putting them in satchels or bags on their backs.

Little Brother turned back to the window and draped his cloak over his arm, creating a little dark tent, then said over the comm, "Sin, shadow port up."
Rumi, do you mind cutting your post short a bit? I want to interrupt your actions.

And on that note: In the midst of a chaotic situation, I'd prefer you take as few actions as possible in each post, so that I, as the GM in charge of the NPCs, and your fellow players can react to them in a timely manner.
I'll get it Winter. I want to make a second post to clarify the situation, anyway.
