Name: Meka Ken Ignus
Bio: Meka has been defending her clan and her country for about a decade. There are many stories of her feats of swordsmanship, but until recently nobody knew where she laid her head. She would appear when men and women of Illuim were in trouble, and leave without saying much.
Very recently, however, she has been known to stop by at the homes of the Great Clan heads, teaching her art to the children. They say she is looking for a student to pass on all of her knowledge, as she appears to be getting old.
She calls it Josei.

So the first bit of the RP is this.
Yllicus escapes, the Tharan Legion is chasing him, and there's rewards posted for information, and a bounty. Everyone will individually be chasing after him, for various reasons. We'll all converge on him, and he will point us in the next direction.

"Just a little longer," he said, stirring on and on. He didn't say anything else until he took the spoon out and peered into the small cauldron. "Here we go," he said, ladling some out into a cup. He brought it into the room and handed the cup to Richard.
"What's this?" Richard pulled it forward to sniff, but The Dante pushed it toward his mouth.
"Have a drink, everyone's doing it. Adelfonsus just took a good swig."
"Oh! Did you, Addie?" Richard gave him a wink and downed it in one go. "So what's it going to... oh! Oh." His face slackened for a moment, and then his eyes widened. "I see," he put his head in his hands, "Ugh, what happened just now?"
"Love potion," Dante explained. "Then Antidote. You two sticking around? Finch was about to tell us about Professor Clowers."

I don't expect terribly much from a CS for this, though I wouldn't say no to any extra details.

Bio: Ted was an only child to parents in the midwest. His father was a librarian, and his mother a doctor. Much to his mother's chagrin, Ted spent more time at his father's place of work than hers, and had a particular liking for arcane books.
When he was old enough, Ted applied for a freelance magician's license, and went to work. He's since moved away from home, to (insert town name here) and set up shop. He now lives in an apartment above a bar, with a small office in the front room from which he conducts business.
Other:
~ Travels mostly by bicycle, as he doesn't own a car.
~ Wears mostly old clothes
~Has learned to tailor his own clothes, and usually shops at thrift stores to save on money.

Anyway, Affili is all good.
I like our cast thus far. A trader/smugger, a mercenary, a goat herder, a priestess and a bodyguard. Probably also a master swordsman/teacher.
I was kind of hoping Water Dragon would get taken, but it has not.

I've edited the OP to be an actual description of the world as I have it in my head thus far. Is there anything you all can see that is missing? Or any other questions that must be answered?

Your character doesn't fit because her device makes no sense in this world. I tried to get an explanation for that, and found yours unsatisfactory. The word SciFi does not mean that absolutely anything is permissible. You're right, I won't accept anything from you at this point. I don't like to work with children.
