Richard smiled at her. Yes, the painting seemed particularly active when he was around. Maybe it recognized him as its model, and observed him for behavioral cues. As he understood it from reading, even the best paintings had to sort of learn to mimic their subjects. Painting Richard was off to an exceptional start. River interrupted his wistful thoughts with a question about Cae. She was like a mother hen, the way she tried to interfere... no, that was a harsh word. He didn't mean to think of her like that. She was always trying to help him and Addie, and probably in ways that they didn't realize they needed. He opened up a surprising amount in his answer to her question.
"There isn't much else lately. Fuckin' OWLS," he pronounced the acronym phonetically, "Keep us too busy. The painting is the last of our free alone time. We talk a bit during that. Mostly I do, to try to get the personality in the painting right."

Yes, I understand. The need to alter things would be like an addiction that's present when the mask is on, not an action that the mask takes of its own accord.
My mask concept: gives the wearer tech based powers, and he mask persona is obsessed with improving upon designs including, to the wearers dismay, the human body. The wearer will eventually become an unwilling cyborg.

"Maybe," Charlotte mused, in theatrically deep thought, "You're just not excited enough. Every time I wave it, I'm just so happy and excited to be going to magical school. Biography: The Order of the Black Powder is a relatively new collection of knights, loyal to the king, who have taken and keep secret the knowledge of building guns. The Chevalier family have been members of the order since its inception, and Alphonse is the most recent member of the Order to build his own gun. He has entered into the King's service as a monster hunter.
Cool concept, I like it. Lots of room for different kinds of characters.
So when you put on the mask, does it completely shapeshift you? And in the new form, are you obviously wearing a mask, or can it fuse into your face?
Charlotte laughed, feeling a little flattered. "I'm just first year! I don't know anything about spells, but when I wave my wand around sometimes I get pretty sparklers." She held the wand up for Caelum to see.
"It has a unicorn hair inside of it. I don't know how they do that but it's really neat. You have a wand, right?"
Okay, so the Order of Black Powder hates the Guild of Exploding Items. They think of them as an inferior peasant version of themselves, and usurpers of the noble gunpowder. Little bit of character history for us.
Though, I don't know if two gunpowder characters is going to be acceptable, we'll see what Alamantus says.
The extra roll bit in the CS I did isn't a necessary addition, I put it in as a reference for his reloading specifically. Though it might be a good thing for all characters to have in their skill.
