Vivian blinks, several times in fact, as she processes what just happened. Then she abruptly seems to notice the fact that the two individuals behind her actually existed, “Oh, hi! Sorry- I get a bit excited when it comes to this stuff” the archeologist spins around on her heel, “I’m fine though! I think. I’m actually going to need you for a test-” abruptly, Vivian grabs the cowboy’s hand, pressing it firmly against the black wall, her grip… Surprisingly strong for a girl her size, fueled entirely by her dedication to her craft, “Okay, do you feel any static in your head? If so is it rising in intensity”

Once she got her reply, she took a step away, freeing the cowboy from her grip and quickly scribbling in a notebook, "So what are you two doing up here? Are you enthusiasts for ancient history too? What do you know about this place, it's so near to the city but it seems to untouched!"

The morning, despite the general entertainment of the night, came roughly for Grima. For all her efforts, sleep never came easily to this vessel, and because of that Grima woke rather irritable, though the took the time to stop by a relatively quaint cafe near to her temporary home: A small place held an outdoor dining area and was quiet enough that Grima did not despise being there. Either way, Grima did not actually care: The focus of her visit was simply to get a cup of tea to jolt her body into awareness.

After all, today was the day the brackets would be revealed to her and every worm that infested this city.

The idea ran through Grima’s mind as she took a slow drink of her beverage. This tournament was her main reason for being in this wretched city in the first place, though she had to wonder who she would encounter as her opponents. Fools she expected to see by the dozen, but perhaps she could also find a few… Like minded individuals in the roster that she could recruit to her cause. The resurrection for her true self was a road that would be long and hard, and establishing a following would be vital to seeing her plans through.

A distinct rumbling tore Grima from her musings, the vessel lifting her head as the crowd around her looked around in confusion… Only for a massive, clawed foot to crash upon the ground at the end of the street, sending people dispersing in a panic. The foot’s owner belonged to that of a massive, dinosaur-like dragon, ignoring the dispersing crowd and locking its maddened red eyes with hers. A few tense seconds pass between the two as the street clears of onlookers, most simply civilians trying to get out of the way of the dragon that had appeared. But Grima stood her ground, her eyes narrowing ever so slightly as she stood from her chair, calmly making her way out of the cafe, “Ah… A beast that sees beyond the veil. That is rather… Disappointing” the vessel states, letting out an annoyed sigh as she draws her sword, a gleaming iron blade, “I knew something would eventually find me… But it’s rather insulting that a mindless creature was the one to do so first.”

The dragon, Hauzer, simply roared in rage before it began to charge forward, the ground shaking with each step. Grima herself simply raised her other hand, a dark aura surrounding her before firing out a series of dark magical spheres. Only a few missed, the rest directly colliding with Hauzer’s form, but the dragon simply continued, focused on its one goal. The sight caused Grima to frown, but she lowered her arm, taking a step forward and twirling her sword in her hand. Soon enough, Hauzer closed the distance, lifting its foot to slam down upon Grima’s form, only to miss completely as the vessel twirls to the side, slashing out with their blade into Hauzer’s flesh.

The stinging pain only served to enrage the dragon further, the beast turning to swipe at Grima with its smaller front claws, its tail smashing into buildings on the opposing side of the street. Grima simply stepped back, parrying the swipes and clenching her fist, magic pooling around her hand right before a series of shadowy tendrils shot up from the ground, several stabbing into Hauzer’s torso and a few attempting to bind their mouth shut. Unfortunately, Hauzer simply thrashed its head, tearing the tendrils from the ground before abruptly firing a fireball from its mouth, the sheer speed of it managing to catch Grima off guard, the vessel barely managing to brace herself before being sent flying tumbling back, wisps of flames catching on her cloak before being smothered by wisps of darkness.

With this, Hauzer’s offensive started in full, the beast thrashing, clawing, biting, and stomping as it tried to catch Grima, and though the vessel was capable of dodging, the sheer ferocity left her no real opening to utilize, forcing her to continue retreating and barely dodging the dragon’s onslaught.

Eventually however, a viscous headbutt that couldn’t be dodged sent Grima skidding back, gritting her teeth as she held her guard… For all of a few seconds before Hauzer swung its head up, shattering the vessel’s guard and sending their sword flying through the air and impaling into the ground several meters away. Grima herself staggered back, her eyes widened at being disarmed… Right before Hauzer’s foot was raised and smashed onto Grima’s body, crushing her underneath his weight and cratering the street underneath. While the claws on the foot did not touch Grima, the sheer weight was enough to do the job, the Fell Dragon’s vessel struggling underneath with only one hand free, the other pinned under the dragon’s claw. Unfortunately, her struggles quickly ceased as her red eyes snapped up, seeing embers gather around Hauzer’s mouth and forcing her to quickly erect a dark barrier in front of her with her one hand.

A mere moment later, Hauzer breathed a jet of pure flame down at his own foot, warping around the dark barrier that Grima had put up and scorching the ground around her. From an outsider’s perspective, the Fell Dragon’s vessel was completely engulfed in flames… Before the breath of fire intensified in several stages, as if the dragon was trying to strictly purify Grima’s presence from this world and ensure nothing remained by blackened ashes. For a few moments, it seemed as if it was succeeding.

At least until a flash of purple light emerged from the flames, a cloud of shadows bursting forth and sending Hauzer flying into the air, launched by a sheer concussive force. The shadows did not rest however, and a large black mass shot out from the mist, one of a building sized wyrm with large wings and six blazing red eyes. It flew into the air, crashing into Hauzer once more before quickly wrapping its body around the maddened dragon, constricting it to a point where even they couldn’t struggle free,

“YOU… DARE TO HARM ME? TO PURIFY ME WITH YOUR PALTRY FLAMES? I AM BEYOND YOU, SAVAGE BEAST” the entity spoke, its words more like a telepathic announcement towards everything nearby, including Hauzer, whose attempt to gather flame into its mouth was met by their body constricting even tighter, “I AM THE WINGS OF RUIN… I AM MORE THAN PETTY, MINDLESS ANIMALS. I AM-”

Suddenly their words cease, the massive head snapping to the side as cracks of light began to travel across the street, quickly snaking their way to the battlefield where both Hauzer and Grima’s vessel fought. The shadowy form seemed to let out a grunt of annoyance, before quickly dispersing, letting Hauzer fall from the sky and crash into the street below. Their vessel lies in the crater that Hauzer created by stomping onto her, slowly pushing themselves over and letting out a series of hacking coughs, spitting a bit of blood onto the floor. With an agonizing level of effort, they rise to their feet, clutching and arm around their chest as the lights along the ground flashed and burst forth from the ground, revealing a trio of machines who resembled walking torii gates, bearing massive batons for one of their arms. The machines step forward, their silent intent clear for Grima, up to the lead one’s baton glowing with light as it approached. Grima grit her teeth, knowing that with her wounds, a fight with these ‘enforcers’ would simply end up poorly for her.

Thankfully, she didn’t have to.

The attention of the machines were quickly shifted as the dust settled around Hauzer, the dragon rising to their feet to glare at Grima. With a mighty roar, they rushed forward, clearly intending to finish what they started… Only to be intercepted by the first machine, bashing the dragon upside the head with their baton. Hauzer simply shifted its focus, ignoring the pain of the blow and instead bashing the machine with its head, sending it flying back as the other two stepped forward, clearly having chosen to prioritize the rampaging beast instead of the wounded culprit.

Grima simply watched the sight for a second, her face falling to one of cold calculation as she slowly walked backwards, making her way to her sword and wrenching it from the ground with one clean motion. Then, as Hauzer continued to thrash against the city’s defenses, Grima walked into the shadows of a nearby alleyway, vanishing into the darkness.

Darkness fell, and flames rose. In the distance of where the Seekers of Light handled the threat of systematic destruction by self-destructing machines, a woman with stark white hair simply stood on the second floor of the home she was, temporarily, residing in, her red eyes reflecting the distant fire as she brought a cup of steaming tea to her lips. The woman, the vessel of the Fell Dragon Grima, did not panic at the sight of an actual attack taking place in the city, seeing it more as a… Pleasurable distraction. Even from far away, it was more entertaining than much of Esaka had provided for her.

The house that she resided in was a fairly fancy place, furnished with more focus on showcasing ‘status’ than comfort, and currently lended to her by a… Like minded individual. A green haired snake that thought they could twist the Fell Dragon’s graces with gifts and flattery. While they were busy with ‘other tasks’, they allowed her to use their home as a resting place… A gift that she, despite her admonishment, actually took joy in. It saved her the trouble of having to mingle with the worms that infested this city anymore than she had to.

Grima had promised herself that she would give that snake a quick, painless death as repayment for this gift, once her plans were complete.

Those plans, naturally, tied all the way back to her true self, whose connection she could still feel: Faint and imprisoned, a heartbeat whose only tether to this world was through this frail vessel. Despite that frailty, Grima’s plans had led her to this city of warriors. It was a place where gathering connections and power would be easy: All she had to do was win a tournament and she would have a direct spot with the so called ‘elite’, and once she was there, it would be simple to begin the real work.

Taking a final sip of her nightly drink, Grima turned on her heel, heading back into the home she was given. The entertainment for the evening was nice, but Grima had a tournament to win… And her body required proper rest before it could fight at full capacity.

The man and girl's enjoyable quiet was swiftly dashed as a dust cloud rounded the corner, possessing enough speed that even the Baltoy spinning when it passed them.

"excusemecomingthrOUGHIGOTTAGETTOTHESE-"

A blur of black rushes past the duo, the voice of a young girl passing by moments prior before the figure finally comes to a stop next to a particularly large wall of black. In an instant Vivian's pack was on the ground, a variety of tools scattered across the dirt as the archeologist practically snapped across the wall, copying down various glyphs into her notebook and muttering incoherently to herself, a few key phrases like "older than Sinnoh", "Unknown glyphs", and "impossible sheen". The only pause she ever took was when she seemed to seriously consider the pros and cons of attempting to taste the wall, before she snapped back to her fervor in copying down everything, completely forgetting about the two individuals nearby.
Sweet! I added them to the same post as Mokou in the character tab, so she should be all good to go!
Updated the sheet as promised, hopefully this handles the various problems!

<Snipped quote by Goggy>

Looks quite good overall! I have just a couple notes.
-My eyes aren't so good and the shade of purple you've chosen is dark enough to blend in to the guild's background for me. I can just highlight it in order to read it, but it is a slight inconvenience
-At level 4 your starting EXP max should be 40
-At first glance, Grima seems limited in what she can do, since I assume she can't just summon her building-sized dragon form and blast everything to smithereens with an apex spell willy-nilly. Especially for stuff that strong, I would prefer to define specifics and limiting factors like cooldown times or mana costs. Her sword skills offset this somewhat, but I still think it would be a good idea to maybe start with a weaker and more generally usable dark magic and work up to an ultimate magic
-What sword does she have? I'd say to put it in her Inventory section
-I assume she's in Esaka in order to seek intelligence on her true form in order to find and release it? How does this play into her joining a tournament? And which tournament is she joining? Right now, I'd say that Mortal Kombat and King of Fighters have enough participants, so I'd encourage her joining World Warrior since it's the biggest and probably needs the most participants

To address each point in order:
-Understood with the coloring. I wanted to use a purple but too dark overall to use, though I will take a look around to see if I can find a brighter version (or just bite the bullet and have Grima be uncolored)
-I can certainly work with something like a cool down for their apex spell, or have it be a MASSIVE drain on Grima's energy and leaves her vulnerable for s good while after using it.
-I forgot to add the sword but I was going wirh a basic iron sword
-I was working with the idea that Grima was in Esaka to gather intelligence to find her true form, and was planning to win a tournament in order to acquire influence that she could use as leverage (if not to gather intelligence than just to gather power). As for tournaments, I am perfectly fine with her joining the World Warrior shenanigans.

Will update everything on the sheet once I have properly woken up ^.^
With Mokou finally gathering enough power, I am comfortable enough to throw a new villain(ess) into the ring for the Esaka tournament

Mokou found herself sitting on top of the stagecoach as it moved quite a lot, especially as the convoy moved around. Yet now, she was up on it not to relax, but to ponder. It was strange, but it felt like a fog had been lifted from her mind, allowing Mokou to remember… Well, everything. Each memory of the forest that she had resided in, the land of Gensokyo as a whole… As well as the brief moments where everything was engulfed in light. Even with her mind clear, she could not remember the source of the light… Mainly because she knew that the source lay beyond the forest where she had been subsumed.

Even still, Mokou didn’t freak out at the realization that her life in this world was a lie. Instead, she simply stared at her hand, a small flame burning within it. She simply thought, letting the fire dance between her fingers. After a while however, Mokou let out a sigh, rising to her feet and casually hopping down from the top of the stagecoach, hands in her pockets as she approached the first person she saw: The massive, bug-like queen known as Sectonia, “Hey. Bothering you a moment: Wanted to ask some questions about…” the phoenix pauses for a moment, figuring out the right words to say, “... This whole journey that you folks are on. That robot did something to me that they called ‘friend hearting’, and got more questions now that my head’s cleared up.”

”Hm? Ah yes, I suppose that would be confusing.” Sectonia said, looking at their next destination with disdain as it was just as ruined as everywhere else. ”So many people have been freed that it feels like someone would give the explanation. ” Sectonia mused for a bit, since this took her sight off the ugly tower in front of her.

”I suppose I can enlighten you. Although you’ll owe me a favor in the future. Nothing horrible or terrible, and maybe you’ll pay it back without knowing some day if you're proven to be loyal. I do know the most about what is going on out of every seeker here, so you can try your luck with another if you want but I wouldn’t recommend it.” Setonia said with mild amusement. She was bored until now, so might as well have a bit of fun with things.

Mokou’s eyebrow rises for a brief moment, before she shrugs, “Favors, alright. I can work with that, as long as you don’t ask me for something stupid like immortality” she says, leaning on the stagecoach’s side.

That got a bit more of a laugh from Sectonia than probably what Mokou was expecting. ”Oh I've figured that one out already.” She then put back on her more stoic face as she began to explain. ”Well, first, if you look to the sky you’ll see a winged sun coiled in rainbows. Our overall goal is to kill that thing, which created this world from a conglomeration of all worlds it seems. To do this, we need to slay its guardians and take their power for our own. From what I can tell, everyone can only take in a single guardian, but they are very powerful spirits for a reason. There are other groups of interest that seem to be ‘helping’ on our mission such as the Organization XIII, however they have questionable motives at best and are probably looking to steal Galeem’s power for their own. The other group, the Consuls, are individuals that are opposed to our mission and try to defend the guardians.” She looked to see if Mokou was still paying attention until she got into the consuls.

”Signified with a letter as a name, they seem to be outside of the ‘spirit’ system and have strong powers of their own to compensate, however once defeated they vanish without a trace. And considering the ‘system’ seems to recycle spirits every 10 years, being removed from it means their complete erasure. They claim a power named “Mobeus”, and regain their energy through Flame Clocks, items that fill up based on the conflict of the area that seem to give life to the area. But without any ability for us to take one to investigate or break them so far, thats just speculation and they could be harming areas they are in instead.”

Mokou nods along, letting Sectonia explain before she ultimately narrows her eyes, bringing a hand out to hold her chin as she thought, “... Following along, but explain more of these Consuls and spirits. Namely, how they’re erased… As well as this ‘recycling’” she turns away from the distant winged sun, her red eyes holding a focused intensity that was very much unlike her normal casualness, “I can presume that I, much like everyone else, am subjected to this resetting. Otherwise I would have memories of it. Which tells me that this ‘Sun’ has the ability to bypass the Horai Elixir's grip on eternity.”

”From what I understand, each person has a ‘10 year’ limit before they get ‘reset’, and without the friend heart apparently we’re under the whim of Galeem and the Consuls, the former able to control those Galeem’d. And yes, this apparently bypasses anything any of us have to ‘extend’ life. As for the spirits, when you kill someone, you gain their spirit. Depending on what you do with it, it will influence how you look, but you’ll gain more of the former spirit’s power. Crushing it will spawn an item, of which I can improve what you gain. You can try to bond with the spirit to summon it in battle, but your limited to 2. Finally you can put the spirit within yourself which changes how you look but lets you gain its powers. We have some methods to minimize this. Do note the ratio of male to female spirits. If you put too many of one into you, your gender will change as well.”

The final addition causes Mokou to raise an eyebrow, but she nods, “I see. So it still requires killing…” she mutters to herself before sighing, placing her hands back into her pockets, “Well, I thought if I could somehow replicate these Consul’s ability to not return from destruction, I could finally have an answer to my own problem. But I suppose it can’t be helped” the phoenix immediately returns to a slouching stance, looking back at the Queen, her focused expression having faded, “So, this Baldur fellow must be a Consul as well, huh? Or is he just a servant they send out to cause problems?”

”Or the Guardian, or just a strong spirit in general. We wont know until we see them.” Sectonia said. ”I’d prefer the Guardian, as it would be another step to fixing this 10 year limit thing.”

Mokou nods once again, kicking the floor idly as she lets out a sigh, “Right. Well, everything I’ve heard about him tells me that I’m not gonna like him, so it’ll be nice to put him in the dirt” with that she rolls her shoulders, glancing back at the ruined city that was their destination, “... I think I’ve got the gist of the situation. But, just need a little time to process. I’ll be back before you all leave” the phoenix turns around, giving the Queen a small wave before she leaps into the air, her fiery wings sprouting from her back to allow her to launch herself into the sky and towards the city.

While Mokou was certainly a powerful spellcaster, even she was held at the leviathan’s mercy under the water, unable to break out of its grasp by herself. And although she knew that even drowning wouldn’t kill her permanently (she had tried so before), it was still an unpleasant enough experience that Mokou fought. Thankfully for her, a series of strikes from the party’s Nobody allowed her to break free, launching from the water like a rocket to create distance. Hovering in the air, Mokou spent several moments hacking out her lungs, expelling as much water from her body as possible. Her body, having spent so long being held underwater, was rather weak now… Yet while Mokou could simply incinerate herself and start fresh, the phoenix chose to give her own curse a small reprieve. It was hardly debilitating damage, after all.

Regardless, the phoenix eventually coughs out the remaining water from her lungs, letting out a sigh as she places her hands back into her pockets, her red eyes watching as the stagecoach managed to move past the leviathan. Such a large beast was an issue… Yet it wasn’t their main goal, and with everyone moving past it, Mokou was willing to let its attempt to kill her slide. Thus, she floats back over to the rest of the party, a shimmering orange glow around her as she kept herself warm, mainly to avoid freezing with the water still clinging to her and the cold tundra, “Sorry for the trouble there. Didn’t expect that thing to give me a surprise soak” Mokou comments in her usual, impassive tone, tilting her head to the side as she walked, seemingly making sure that there was no more water stuck in her ears.
