For the second time today, Grima found herself standing in the Pool’s proper fighting arena, watching the other end with clear disinterest as a smaller girl walked onto the arena, a large hawk resting on her arm, “My first opponent was an arrogant braggart. And my second is a child. They let anyone sign up for these tournaments for the slightest chance of entertainment, don’t they?” the vessel states with a shake of her head.

“I’m not one to fall for such insults, but I will admit that the amount of people shakens me” the girl, Nakoruru, admits, reaching up to place a comforting hand on the hawk on her arm, who was currently locked onto Grima, “Such wanton violence is distasteful for me, but even still, I have my purpose for being here. To help the people and cleanse the darkness that plagues these streets. A darkness that I can sense in your heart” she explains, drawing her kodachi as the hawk let out a screech and flew into the sky, “I do not know how, nor do I know why. But the air balks at your presence… And I cannot allow you to continue in this tournament so long as that shadow remains cast over your heart.”

Grima simply stares back for a moment, then lets out a dismissive laugh, “‘A darkness in my heart’? That is a statement I have heard many times, child. I have no darkness, I am darkness. If you wish to see that firsthand, then by all means…” Grima draws her blade, twirling it in her hand as she took her combat stance, “Step forward”.

ROUND 1, FIGHT

Nakoruru spent no time hanging back, instead dashing forward, her hawk diving just ahead of her like a speeding bullet. The sight of which caused Grima to smile slightly, her hand rising to create a small barrier that the hawk slammed into, only to push off moments before Grima’s blade swung through the air where it had been. The Fell Dragon’s vessel quickly stepped forward, using her momentum to swing the blade down as Nakoruru swung their own kodachi forward, the two blades clashing with a ringing of steel, though Nakoruru was forced to brace her own with her other hand. For a few moments, the two struggled there, with Grima pushing her weight down upon the smaller warrior… Before Nakoruru twisted to the side, causing Grima’s blade to slam down to the floor and open them up to a swift strike to their chest, a strike that Grima barely avoided by stepping back herself.

Unlike the first battle Grima had dealt with in this tournament, the flow of this was one she was comfortably familiar with. A dance of blades and magic, where her mastery was put against a gnat’s speed. This mastery was demonstrated by how deftly Grima was able to deal with the latter’s swift attacks, her blade a whirlwind of both defense and attack. The two were naturally able to land light attacks on each other, but for a significant period, neither could truly land a solid hit on the other, albeit Grima was clearly holding onto the advantage, seemingly anticipating most of Nakoruru’s moves as they came. For a normal spectator, it would seem like Grima had the match locked down.

… At least, if it wasn’t for the hawk.

While Grima focused on Nakoruru, the hawk circled around her, its eyes taking in every movement of Grima’s with eerie precision. It was only when Grima committed to another underhanded swing that it made its move, diving down and slamming into Grima’s vulnerable back. The force of the blow caused her to stumble… Right into a rising slash from Nakoruru. It was mostly thanks to the Heavenly Principles that the slash didn’t cause any lasting damage, yet either way the blow caused her to stagger back as Nakoruru took the opportunity given to her by rushing Grima down further, the hawk flying in several times to stagger Grima even longer between Nakoruru’s attacks.

However, as the flurry of attacks reached their crescendo, a small gap in the assault let Grima finally plant her foot down, twisting her body just out of the way of Nakoruru’s kodachi. The other girl had barely enough time to widen her eyes before Grima’s own blade slammed into her torso, a rising slash from Grima that sent both her and the vessel into the air, with Nakoruru landing harshly on her back and taking a moment to breath before she leapt back to her feet. Unfortunately for her, Grima was already on top of her by the time she did so, reaching out her hand as a black, coiling mist swirled around her hand and shot out towards Nakoruru, binding them for a few moments as the sensation of her very lifeforce was drained from her. The binding did not last long, but the effects were obvious as Nakoruru staggered slightly from the sensation… Only for Grima to follow up her attack by blasting Nakoruru’s face with a dark ball of magic, the force from the blast sending her flying and tumbling across the arena.

GRIMA WINS.

For a moment, Grima stood with her arm raised, letting out a heavy sigh. Then she brought her hand back, running it through her hair, “... That damnable bird is a nuisance, but a useful one, I will grant you that child” Grima says as she twirled her sword in her hand. With a few steps, she returned to her initial position, a hand on her hip as she waited for Nakoruru to get up and prepare herself for the next round, “A costly mistake, nearly. But a bird and a worm cannot hope to overcome the night by themselves.”

Vivian quickly scribbles the names of the locations into her notebook, "Alabaster Ruins... King's Cross... Shattered Tower... Starbor Forest..?" she mutters, pulling out a small map and quickly scanning it, "Oh! It's near this route! Fantastic, fantastic! I'll have to make sure to visit all these places while I go through the region" Vivian says, grabbing a Pokeball off her belt and quickly returning Atlas to his ball, "I suppose for now my translation attempts on these walls will have to wait, though I've already got most of the script copied down so if I find anymore of these things I could try to cross-reference. Shame I can't take a sample with me though..."

The archeologist looks down for a moment, before shaking her head, "I'll figure that part out later. The mystery of the droning, unbreakable black wall can wait. For now, I have to take a look into this Forest Deity! I'll see you two around-" Vivian begins to say, already running off with her equipment rebagged, a cloud of dust following her as her voice got quieter and quieter as she ran towards the distant treeline of Starbor Forest, "-IF YOU FIND ANY COOL ARTIFACTS HOLD ONTO THEM FOR ME!, I'LL WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THEM!".

With that, Vivian sprints down the pathway, her form surprisingly well maintained as she swerves to avoid different obstacles... At least until her attention was diverted by the phone in her pocket buzzing with a text, causing her to bring it out and look at it... While still running.

hihi yeah i got held up by gyarads. nice to talk tho i'm currently on route 4 doing some archeugjaokgjaksltjastkljhagkaklmdfsjkghdstjhsj

Whatever response Vivian was sending quickly became nothing more than a jumbled mess as her foot caught a stray stone on the path, completely disrupting her as she let out a yelp of surprise... Only to fall flat on her face, beginning to roughly tumble down the hill in a mess of limbs. Quite a few Pokémon took notice of the commotion, but the only one that had any stake in the situation was the Wooper currently sitting at the bottom of the path, completely oblivious to the mass barreling straight towards it. Though thankfully, fate seemed to grace the Wooper's unblinking demeanor as Vivian finally skidded to a stop, flopping face down on the ground just a few inches from the Wooper... Who simply proceeded to follow Vivian's example and flop face down as well.

While Grima had initially planned on simply fully leaving the Pools before her next match began, the vessel instead returned to the stands, watching the various fights within her early brackets. Admittedly, she only had time to watch two, but she chose to at least see what she could potentially be dealing with in the future.

The first match was one that was… Entertaining, if embarrassing. A battle between a trio of men with cat ears and a massive man with a hanging gut and extreme mohawk, primarily wielding a massive chain. The fight was a chaotic mess, featuring both sides throwing random items at the other while the two cat men fighting alongside the primary one by running at the other. The overweight man, meanwhile, answered with his chains… And by tossing cans at the assists to knock them away. In all of Grima’s years, she had never seen a fight this stupid… Until the trio pulled off their ‘ultimate move’, yelling about a “human pyramid attack” which simply consisted of the two assists holding the primary one up, eliciting shock within their foe as they upped the pressure.

But it was the second match she watched that got her attention, even if it was in the throes of its final match.

A battle between a pair of individuals that caught Grima’s notice for different reasons. The first was some kind of… Bear mascot, a wide lifeless grin etched onto their face and their entire body unmoving as they somehow fought. But the other, relatively more tame in comparison, was the one that truly caught her eye due to the similarities between him and her current ‘associate’. Though the suit was far more messy, the hat was missing, and they wore a distinct yellow cloak, the man fighting the bear was distinctly familiar to Hazama, enough that Grima was almost certain they were the same person. Yet their movement and manners were anything but, as the man she presumed was one ‘Yuuki Terumi’ fought with reckless aggression, relentlessly attacking the bear while laughing with hate and maniacal glee,

“Seriously, they brought a BALLOON to a tournament?!” Terumi yelled as he tripped the bear and proceeded to stomp on their head several times over, their heel grinding into them, “They really just let anything join up. I barely even get to have fun cutting you apart” the green haired man stated as he slammed his foot into the head one more time before casually kicking the bear away, a distinct sound filling the air as it hit the ground.

ROUND 2, TERUMI WINS

With the sound of his victory, Terumi’s joy immediately vanished, the man taking out an elegant butterfly knife and twirling it in his hand with expert precision, “Tch. Damn waste of my time” he muttered, turning away and beginning to leave the arena… Before his yellow eyes glanced up, spotting Grima within the stands overlooking the pools. In that moment, Terumi simply grinned at the scholarly look from the vessel, before his eyes vanished underneath his hood.

That alone was enough reason to cause Grima to turn on her own heel and begin leaving once again. There was a distinct spark that she felt when the two had made eye contact… Or rather, what their true self had felt. A rivalry.

The Fell Dragon could sense a fallen god when they saw one. And if they were meant to be one of their future foes, then she would have to prepare herself. With their similarity, perhaps her ‘patron’ knew more about him…

Atlas' reaction to the sheer magnitude of the wall's durability was simple: staggering back with their entire body vibrating for a few seconds before shaking off its hand, trying to brush off the the pain by giving the wall a respectful nod and instead beginning to investigate the wall itself.

Vivian simply winced at the sight of Atlas' damage, but with the ghost Pokemon not seeming too damaged and interested in just looking at the wall now, she turned her attention back to the duo, giving a nod to Sabine, "Sure. Vivian, Vivi, Viv, I don't mind any of those nicknames. As for plans... Well, I'm not too sure myself. My main goal is to explore and find ancient ruins to investigate and explore. I would *try* to have a direct location to work towards but I'm a bit hopeless when it comes to directions" Vivian says with a small laugh, rubbing the back of her head, "If you have any suggestions on what kind of place would be of note to an aspiring archeologist, feel free to tell me. I'd love an actual place to try to guide myself towards."

With her first victory easily under her belt, Grima walks away from her arena, heading through the streets with a confident stride. While they had managed to surprise her, she had advanced relatively unscathed. Her foe would naturally fall to the next member of the losers bracket… Or perhaps they would win and manage to crawl their way back to face her again. Either way, she would simply smack them back to the dirt where they belonged, as was her right.

“Ah, bravo with your first match! I expected nothing less from you, my lady!”

A voice, one familiar, causes Grima to stop in her tracks, her red eyes flicking to the alleyway next to her… From which emerged a tall, lanky man dressed in a suit, his green hair covered by a hat and eyes seemingly closed, an enthusiastic smile on his face, one hand on his belt and the other holding his hat down for no particular reason.

“Hazama” Grima says, a small bit of her usual condescension leaving as she turns to face her ‘benefactor’, “I had presumed you to be on your ‘business’. You watched my battle against that worm, did you?”

“Oh indeed, and I’m still on my duty. Work waits for no man, but I simply had to make sure you got through the first round without issue” the man says in a cheerful tone, stepping out and lifting his face towards Grima, “You took a pretty nasty hit back there. I certainly hope

The faux worry from Hazama caused Grima to roll her eyes, giving a dismissive wave of her hand, “Of course not. A single surprise hit from a worm” the vessel states, folding her arms, “... It is good that you arrived here though. I refrained from asking before, but tell me… You are helping me with my goals, of which I have made it clear what I want. But what is it that want from me?”

The directness of Grima’s question causes Hazama to smile, leaning back and giving a shrug, “Oh, I’m just doing a service. I wish for nothing but to see rising stars reach the shine they deserve!”

That response causes Grima to chuckle slightly, “A nonpartial answer… And one that is a complete lie” the vessel’s eyes immediately narrow, now locked onto Hazama’s closed eyes, “I know your type, snake. You’re vermin, a trickster whose only focus is on your own success…” surprisingly, Grima’s tone was not one of anger, rather simply stating a fact. In fact, as she spoke, a small smile formed on her lips, “So, what is it that you truly want, Snake? Power? A place at my side once my plans come to fruition? Or is it simply a part of your own plot for domination?”

Grima’s words had caused Hazama’s smile to fade, a few moments passing as he seemingly thought of how to answer before the smile returned… One far more malicious than before, his eyes opening slightly to reveal a pair of green, serpent-like eyes, “Unfortunately, I am still not at liberty to say. But nevertheless, I can assure you… I am fully invested in your… Resurrection. In fact, it would be rather unfortunate if you weren’t capable of fulfilling your plans. Simply… Consider my assistance a focus for entertainment. I’m of the opinion that this world needs a bit of a shakeup, and you are an individual who can accomplish that.”

Despite still being a noncommittal answer, Grima seemed… Relatively pleased at the response, giving a small nod, “Very well then. Your entertainment shall be my ascension. It always amuses me to know the reasons why those who follow me are so willing to throw their fellow worms to oblivion.”

With that, Hazama’s eyes close again, the casual smile returning to his face as he takes a look at his watch, “Ah, unfortunately, it is about time I go back to my duties. The house is still yours, my dear lady” Hazama takes a step back, removing his hat to give a theatrical bow, “I look forward to your further successes… ‘Fell Dragon’.”

Finally, Hazama begins to walk away, heading in the opposite direction of Grima and leaving the vessel to watch him walk off. After a few moments, Grima simply chuckles to herself, turning on her heel and continuing her walk. The Snake was an interesting subject, and she knew well enough to be wary of them. But at the same time, she couldn’t help but be amused by him.

Regardless, the time had come for her to relax before her next battle.

The cowboy’s response caused Vivian to nod, not out of agreement to his words but rather to herself as she quickly wrote down some more notes, before turning to the girl and listening to her with rapt attention, “Ooooh, fascinating! So this is a subject not many people actually know about. That’s great! I was hoping to pioneer some archeological investigations. I actually come all the way from Sinnoh, and from Celestic Town in particular. We had a big mural depicting the two gods of Sinnoh, and just being near them always gave me such a fascination with ancient ruins, especially when I learned about the Ruins of Alph all the way in Johto-” Vivian began, only to catch herself as she launched into a rant, “Oh, sorry, my name is Vivian. I didn’t question why the Professor wanted so many aides, maybe to make sure as much information was gathered as possible? Either way, I’m ecstatic to be given this opportunity!” the young girl says, bouncing on her feet as she turned back to the wall to continue her investigation… Only for a Pokeball on her belt to activate, sending out Atlas once more.

Before she could even question the Pokemon’s appearance, Atlas stepped towards the wall, its head tilting upwards to scan the solid black material before it entered a stance, rearing its arm back as far as it could before punching the wall with all its strength, a surge of fire erupting from their fist just before contact.

Grima’s walk eventually brings her to her chosen fight location, a simply raised stone platform surrounded by water. It was a simple place, befitting the start of the tournament… And very little actual spectators. That did not surprise her either, the status of the tournament meant that there were a dozen battles going on at once, and attention was divided. It did mean that Grima would not be able to make her statement of strength to the populace and organizers… At least, not yet.

But, the future could wait. Right now, Grima had to focus on the opponent that she was chosen to fight, who had already been waiting for her at this paltry arena.

The man before her was… Admittedly unremarkable, bearing brown hair and a simplistic but maneuverable outfit of a jacket, tight shirt, and jeans. He stood in the starting position, hands on his hips and a smirk on his face as he regarded Grima’s approach, “So, you’re my first opponent huh? Fancy name, and fancy outfit. Looks like you’re taking this tournament seriously. Not that it matters though” he begins, flicking a finger across his nose before shaking his hands, pumping himself up for the battle ahead, “Name’s Danny, and I’ll be the one sending you to the Loser’s Bracket in no time.”

For a few moments, silence permeates the pools. Then, Grima begins to laugh. A small, condescending sound that held no true mirth, “Oh, really now? Mortal arrogance is truly a wonder to behold, no matter the time” she states with a smile before it quickly fades, the only emotion shown being a flicker of malice in her red eyes, “You evidently need to learn your place worm. For you face something beyond your feeble comprehension” with those final words Grima draws her sword, twirling it in her hand before entering her combat stance, “Let us begin the lesson”

Danny simply blinks in response, the cold malice behind Grima’s words disrupting his cocky exterior for a moment before he shakes it off, entering a combat stance of his own, “Whatever you say lady. You’ll be taking a nice swim long before you start monologuing again”

ROUND 1, FIGHT

Danny takes the initiative, dashing forward and throwing a lunching punch at Grima’s head. Yet just before his fist flew out, Grima stepped forward, flipping her sword in her grip and jabbing the pommel into Danny’s stomach. The impact disrupts his attack, causing him to stagger before Grima flips her sword around again, slashing Danny’s chest with a quick swipe before blasting him away with a point blank magical burst from her free hand. While the strikes did not cause visible wounds on Danny thanks to the Heavenly Principles, the pain was still clear and fresh as the fighter tumbled over themselves, barely managing to land on his feet.

For a moment, Danny simply stares in surprise at Grima, who began to walk confidently towards him, a glint of satisfaction in her eyes, knowing she had just proven her superiority. The sight was clear as day for Danny… And a spark of rage coursed through his body. For a brief instant, a red glow surrounded his upper body, a sight that caused Grima’s eyebrow to momentarily rise in interest… Right before Danny burst forward once more, spinning their body to launch a devastating kick at Grima. The action caused Grima’s eyes to widen for a fraction of a second before she raised her arm, a small barrier forming just above it before Danny’s foot crashed into her guard, causing Grima to skid back a few inches.

With the offensive now on his side, Danny plants his feet upon the ground, launching a flurry of quick blows at Grima to keep her on the defensive. The vessel’s eyes narrow in annoyance at the jabs, her barrier holding without flaw before she found an opening, swinging her sword to catch Danny’s neck. Unfortunately for Grima, this was what Danny had expected, and the fighter quickly ducked underneath her attack, a grin returning to his face before he rose up, striking Grima’s chin with an uppercut that sent her flying in the air for a few seconds before roughly crashing onto the ground. The red aura flares to life around him again, before he launches a ball of red energy at Grima’s recovering form.

At least, that was the intent.

As the ball neared Grima, the air itself seemed to darken as Grima held a clenched fist to her chest. On the back of her hand, a purple mark flared underneath her glove, and for an instant, three pairs of red eyes seemed to manifest around Grima... Right before she thrusted her hand forward, a beam of dark magic firing out, completely decimating the ball of energy as it flew before slamming into Danny himself as he recovered from launching his own attack. With the opening exploited, Danny was forced to take the full brunt of the attack, sending him tumbling across the floor once more, unable to properly catch himself and instead skidding face first across the arena before finally coming to a stop.

GRIMA WINS

The announcement rings out as Danny slowly pushes himself off the ground, panting for a few moments before glaring up at Grima, who simply runs a hand through her hair, “A surprising display, but that was your one lucky blow, worm” the woman says as she walks back to her starting position, her red eyes now narrowed in focus. Danny himself finally gets to his feet, running his hand across his mouth,

“We’ll see. I’m not out of the fight yet” Danny approaches his original position as well, entering his battle stance once more.

ROUND 2, FIGHT

This time, Danny did not immediately engage… A facet that Grima immediately took advantage of, taking a step back herself and launching an orb of darkness that forced Danny on the defensive. It quickly became clear that Grima was playing a different game this time, and unlike before where Danny had found openings to attack, Grima simply refused to allow any clear openings for him to exploit. Every punch was interrupted, every reversal dodged and countered appropriately. It was almost as if Grima had Danny’s routine down to a flowchart, practically three steps ahead as she anticipated every move and drove him back further and further to the edge of the arena. The realization of which drove Danny to become slightly panicked, trying to desperately break Grima’s assault before he simply resorted to blocking everything…

A result that simply sealed his fate.

In the midst of her offensive, Grima’s hand shot out, grabbing Danny’s raised arm before she ruthlessly pulled him towards her, driving a knee into his exposed stomach at the same time. The force caused the air to be forced out of his lungs… Before Grima’s same hand released his arm and planted itself directly onto his face, another orb of dark magic forming directly in the palm of her hand. A malicious grin forms across Grima’s face, her eyes glinting with predatory satisfaction before the orb simply detonates point blank, sending Danny flying straight off the edge of the arena.

Naturally, Danny screamed as he fell into the water, a massive splash following his collision before he managed to recover and swim to the surface of the water, sputtering and catching his breath as the Heavenly Principles announced the victor.

RING OUT. GRIMA WINS

With victory hers, Grima sheathed her sword, her expression now calm and satisfied as she looked down at Danny with a small, smug smile, “And there is your place, worm. Enjoy crawling in the dirt with the others in the Loser’s Bracket” she states before turning on her heel, walking out of the arena with her first victory under her belt and leaving Danny to stew in his first loss.

The journey through the hypertube was, for Mokou at least, a short yet fun distraction. Despite the high speeds, she had managed to get through the entire ordeal without taking a single hit, and when she exited the tube, she merely flipped in the air and fired a stream of fire as a form of brake, scorching a wall that she nearly slammed into but managing to slow herself down enough that she could safely land feet first on the wall, before kicking off of it and floating gently to the floor. The phoenix simply watches as the others come out of the tube, some gracefully, others… Less so, a small wince coming from Mokou as she witnesses the less fortunate. But, at the very least, everyone had made it through alive, and that would be enough.

Regardless, with the new goals set, Mokou tagged along with Geralt for the matter of the cargo system, her hands in her pockets as she floated just above him. With her flight, the laser defense system was incredibly easy for her to bypass… Though soon enough, the two’s paths diverged as Mokou chose to take a look into where, exactly, the cargo crates went. Thus, she followed one as it was dropped into a chute, casually flying into the gaping maw.

The sight she flew into was one of systematic order, a massive collection of cargo crates neatly arranged in machine-like faction. Regardless of the state of the place, Mokou simply floated down and investigated the area, creating a small orb of flame that floated above her head and illuminated the room. Most of the crates were locked tight, and Mokou did not feel like burning through each to find out what was inside… However, at least one cargo container lay broken open though, probably damaged by rough handling prior to its trip through the sorting system and then busted apart by the subsequent fall. A quick overview of its contents suggested that it had been a shipment of general-use space station equipment, intended for personnel with different roles.

As Mokou digs through the contents of the shipping container (whilst shoving basically everything into the oddly spacious backpack), a flicker of something strange catches her eyes from the edge of the orb’s light. Standing up and walking over to it, Mokou finds… A makeshift camp, put together hastily and abandoned just as quickly. Ordinarily, it wouldn’t seem like something that Mokou would care about… Aside from a notable device sitting near the center the size of a can, starkly out of place with the ramshackle nature of the rest of the camp. Bending down, Mokou picked up the device, tossing it into the air a few times to test its weight… Before simply placing it into her pocket and returning to the container to gather the rest of the materials. She wasn’t sure what it was, but she could investigate once she returned to the stagecoach rather than miss the group heading out.

With everything gathered though, Mokou places the now filled backpack onto her back, floating into the air and flying back through the chute she came from, waiting until another cargo crate fell down before she makes her ascent. The trip back wasn’t anything special, seeing as she could still easily fly past most of the defenses and lasers. Eventually she flies back to the stagecoach, unslinging the backpack and placing it on the ground nearby Sandalphon, “Hey, found a bunch of stuff that might help out the expedition. Also this thing here-” she states, holding up the strange device in her hand, “Not sure what it was but, decided to bring it back anyways. Seemed like it could be important.”

Grima runs through the alleyway, her hand clutching her side as she makes her way through the winding, dark corridors and away from the distant sounds of fighting. Once she was certain she was far enough away, Grima staggered to a stop, practically collapsing next to a wall beside her,

The entire situation, without a shred of doubt, was a catastrophe. She could not begin to fathom what exactly caused that creature to hunt her down, aside from it sensing the connection between the vessel and the true form. How was, truthfully, irrelevant: Only that she was almost killed by it. A long, slow exhale comes from Grima’s lips as they propped themselves up on the wall. Despite their power, this vessel was not without its flaws, and though they could never get the vessel itself to the level of their true form, cursed with human flesh as it was, it would prove valuable to strengthen it as much as they could.

With a grunt of effort Grima pushed themselves away from the wall and began to head out of the alleyway she had found herself in. The streets that connected nearby were filled with a mass of people, some having been the same individuals that ran from Hauzer’s attack, others simply being in the area. Murmurs spread through the crowd about the rampaging dragon, but Grima ignored them. The city’s defenses had marked the beast, and it was unlikely to be a continued threat to her. Instead, Grima simply walked through the crowd, head held high despite the pain in her torso, making her way to the nearby bulletin boards. Her fight with Hauzer had caused her to miss the initial announcements for the battles, but she could at least find them here and now.

Thankfully, it did not take long for Grima to find her name, opponent, and location. A worm named “Danny” that would serve as her first foe in the tournament. The name did not strike fear in the Fell Dragon, and mostly resulted in her rolling her eyes before marking down the location of her fight in her memory and beginning to walk to reach it.

Weak as this vessel may be, a worm like that should be of no challenge.

Mokou’s return to the stagecoach was one without much fanfare, the phoenix relatively unharmed (at least, as unharmed as she always was) as she floated nearby, giving a casual wave to Sandalphon as she waited for the rest of the seekers to return. Once they did and every lock was disengaged, the phoenix let out an entertained whistle, taking in the sight of the hypertube and its current state, “Well then, this certainly looks like an interesting path. Suppose I’ll see you all on the other side of this thing-” she states, watching Eve take off by riding her sword like a skateboard before flying into the hypertube itself alongside the stagecoach.

Within the hypertube, Mokou flew with a surprising burst of speed despite her constant casualness, actually managing to outpace the stagecoach as it traveled through. Yet even with her speed, she was nigh untouchable by the debris that littered the hypertube, each crate just barely whizzing by her as she twirled past. Even the Naytiba struggles to catch her, as while Mokou restrained herself from using her feathers in such an enclosed space, she was still able to easily dispatch those that tried to leap onto her by kicking them with legs wrapped in high intensity flames, practically cutting through them as if she was wielding a blade. The only things she did not seem to actively fight were the Cymuls, which seemed to be focusing more on the Naytibas themselves, and were thus lower on Mokou’s priority.
