It's possible to beat Skall, at least in theory. To do so you'd have to be as careful and take the battle as serious as him. But that's just a theory. An Arena Theory! Thanks for watching!

From what I read, if Johnny did hop back, I doubt he would move quicker then An before An closed the distance again. Judging form the amount of distance he was when it started and from the average stride of someone his height. (this is not taking into account how the gravity change would effect things.)
You also realize DJ has put himself in a terribly weak position for any logical defense to what I can do to him

Yes, tactically it was not to sound. But from a readers point of view, it was still awesome. XD
???. What are you talking about? This isn't a dance contest this is a fight.

Boo, your no fun at all. :K

Yo, yo, Skallagrim my son, you gettin served out her Somethin BAD. You going to just let DJ dance, dance around you like that? You gettin destoyed out there homes. You better show him your moves before you get burned worse.

20 Points on the DJ!

Can we even do that? XD
Just been reading that link @GreivousKhan posted and have always wondered myself how an arena fight is supposed to work. From what I can gather it tends to be broken down into step by step stages, am I correct?

And out of curiosity, if someone was to create a mock thread to help be tutored to understand how it's all meant to work by simply practising, would there be anyone willing to just essentially "spar"?

Essentially, yes. T1 breaks down into a fairly simple though fluid when in practice stage by stage dance of sorts. Someone attacks, then the one who is being attacked must then post a logical defense of dodge to that attack and then counter if they can.

As to tutoring, generally if you place up in the Arena interest check that your looking for a practice match, you should be able to set one up easily enough. @Skallagrim happens to be an excellent teacher of sorts, he has the most experience in that role I believe. He's also broken down Textual Combat before into basic form before.
You frown, Melon goes rage mode. xD

I'm more referring to hits that on the outside look no different. Like you've been taking normal jabs, for instance, with no IC knowledge that the character is preparing some magic to use with the jab. None at all, no energy sensing, no visual; then time for the energy to be applied, still no discernible sign(Say it just increases the power of the hit), and your character just instinctively knows.. "Hey, don't take that one, move out of the way." So instead of taking a jab that looks, for all intents and purposes, normal, you avoid it.

Now, if it were obvious there was some preparation going on, like energy gathering in the hand(Thanks Fury), then yeah. Dodge that.

I also kinda look at metagaming as having two parts. The normal is 'yeah, the player knows it and transfer knowledge to character', and adding in stuff like you're replying to the person, not the character, especially after an argument/disagreement, and you sort of try and get the last word in via IC post. I'm sure we've all seen it before. Someone doesn't like what you did, so they throw in some snark in their IC

That's happened before, though people usually use. "After years of combat, their warrior sixth sense alerted them to the danger."

Or worse someone knowing your using an illusion, or which false image is the real one.

Swords being the primary means of damage dealing yes. I similar to Bleach for a visual idea. Though given Kikin has a side arm, and so does mine, a side weapon should also be fine. As long as it does not take primary focus. At this T powered deflecting bullets seems to be the norm anyway.
So is this 2v2 happening? I think I'd prefer a two v two for some variety rather than a 1v1 with you Khan, as we already have a 1v1 on anyway.

That's what I was thinking, keep in mind the one person so far who has not really responded to this is DJ. Though I do feel he would be up to it I think. So preemptively, we just need to decide on battle ground while you and IN should mention who you plan on using. Torder and Kikin would be on the one side as reference.

<Snipped quote by LeeRoy>

So I'm thinking Evvie's fire breath should be able to destroy it, then.

Maybe my good guy in the magic/swordfight can have a sword with a good spirit inside of it, although good is subjective. I should say justice oriented, so might go overboard in it's quest to rid the multiverse of evil. It and the girl wielding it have metaphorical justice boners.

If you make her a scantly clad saint, it would be ironic and give her an advantage against male fighters. :P

Especially Rilla.
