Or maybe it will be in the good way. *wiggles brows*
Of course it couldn’t have ended there, oh no, now it was Delilah’s turn. Jar could hardly raise his eyes to look at her when she spoke. Their little hook up had undone all of the healing they had gone through, and now they were both fucked up. Again. Their relationship was like alcohol: full of delicious temptation, addictive, fun for a time, but poisonous in the end. And now they were left to nurse their wounded livers, stuck stogether in a small hospital-shaped cage.

“So, I’m going back home tonight,” she began, immediately explaining how she was so unnervingly calm. Jar looked up now, bracing himself for whatever razors she was about to chuck in his general direction. She mentioned her heart being crushed into pieces, again, and Jar couldn’t help but left out a ‘pfft’ of air before shaking his head slightly. Of course she had to make this all about her, drama queen that she was. Now was where she’d try to turn everyone against him, again. Jareth crossed his arms defensively in front of himself, as if the self-hug could give him any kind of comfort.

Adelisa turned her attention to Jar now, greeaaattt... “I knew it. I knew it was going to happen again! Everything is happening all over again!” she said as she marched over towards him. What was that supposed to mean? Jar tried his best to look calm by pursing his lips in a straight line but, to a keen eye, one could see that his tongue was toying with his lip ring; It was a nervous habit he fell into whenver he was uncomfortable with a situation. “Let’s have a little talk outside” she said without giving him a chance to reply before she walked out of the hospital room. He didn’t really want to talk about it, especially not when she was so poised to attack him for something that she had no first-hand experience with. Regardless, Jar got up and followed her out, at least it would get him out of the claustrophobic room, and away from her. Just before he walked through the door, Jareth didn’t miss the chance to cast a lingering glare at Delilah behind Adelisa’s back.
Well done *golf claps*
Maya was about to open her mouth to say something about Griffon being such a dick, but Nightmares cut her off. "It's not him, it's Secrets. I told you he was a meaner." Nightmares said in her head. Maya nodded, still awkwardly holding the gun in her hand. The object felt foreign to her, but it was probably her best bet to successfully hit a target with. She didn't have the strength or skill to use melee weapons or something fancy like a bow. She had managed to holster up a gun and some ammunition just before the angels landed outside the castle, causing the walls to shake. Maya lowered herself down in a squat and her heart began to race with fear. "It's good that you're scared, it'll make you closer to me. We'll work together and live through this, I promise, Maya." She wasn't sure how to take a promise from a demon, honestly, she wasn't sure about going out that door and attempting to shoot an angel. That being said, Nightmares guided her steps anyway, having Maya follow closely after the assassin girl.
@KatherinWinter I just assumed you meant Nightmares since no one is playing fear. The offer still stands though, I think Madness and Nightmares would get along.
@BurningCold RNG? I'm not familiar with that. Madness isn't really an emotion but I like the idea. He would be good friends with fear and death.

By fear, do you mean Nightmares? If so, yes I do believe our characters' demons would be friends. Fear can drive people mad, after all. :p
After eating some fruit for breakfast, Maya followed the others to the armory. She had never really gotten the chance to gain experience with any type of weapon before. Throughout art school, Maya occasionally carried pepper spray in her purse while walking home from the studio late at night, but she never actually used it, so it could hardly count as experience. A couple of the others seemed excited, if not used to seeing the vast array of weaponry. Naturally, Maya was drawn to the older looking weapons, as the artifacts were a lot like pieces of fine art. Something so old would hardly be practical...

"Yeah, I think maybe you should try a gun." Nightmares suggested, startling Maya a little, as she hadn't really spoken up in a while. The rather scary looking female spoke up, asking Griffon if he had a firing range. "Yeah, that'd probably be a good place for me to go too. I have no idea how to use any of these things." she admitted a bit sheepishly.
Oh? Care to elaborate?
Everything about this situation was uncomfortable. The hospital room was tiny, and here Jareth sat with his very recent ex just feet away, trapped like animals in a cage. The scent of disinfectant hung thick in the air, making him feel even more nauseous. And then there were the cops. Jar might not deal much anymore, but as a recreational drug user, cops naturally made him a bit squirrely. At least he didn’t have anything on him at the time of Hunter’s incident.

Apparently Jar wasn’t the only one on edge, as Addy’s lid flew off when the pigs started grilling Hunter. Jar could understand why they were doing so, as even he didn’t believe a word Hunter was saying about what happened to him. Even still, Adelisa’s reaction wasn’t making him seem any more innocent. And then the cop made the big mistake. No matter what, you should never tell an upset woman to calm down. Never. Jareth’s eyes flicked over to Delilah, if only briefly. Oh yeah, he’d made that mistake before. Lesson learned.

When the cop finally left the room, Jar let out a deep sigh of relief. He rubbed his calloused hands along his cheeks and then raked them through his hair in discomfort. Some vacation this turned out to be.
”Béatrix” the dragon called to her, surprisingly pronouncing her name correctly, ”The story only ends when the protagonist gives up, not before. You may only need a second or a hundredth chance to reach your happy chapter one more.” Even with the back of her head facing him, she still rolled her eyes. He was indeed a hopeless romantic, how sad for him. Pathetic, really. Who needs trivial things like love when you can find pleasure in the chase, the hunt, and the kill?

Trixy paid for her espresso at the counter, leaving a generous tip for Solenne’s new sweetheart. Béatrix might be bitter about the idea of love, but it wasn’t because of jealousy, and the girl hadn’t really done anything to earn her ire… yet. After taking a deep breath, Trixy ventured outside.

Of course he was there. Why wouldn’t he be there? Like a wilted cherry on top of the world’s shittiest sundae. Trixy wanted to be angry about it but, to be honest, the feelings just withered away in silence. He didn’t say anything taunting, which she appreciated. If she was in his position she couldn’t guarantee that she’d be that big about it. Her lips parted as if she was about to say something, but she closed them and let herself think before any words could pour out.

“Thank you,” she began "For not saying anything... Even if you only kept quiet so your obnoxious lizard friend was kept in the dark." The kind words felt foreign on her tongue. "It turns out I’m not as good of an actress as I thought. What is that American phrase, the cat is on the bag? Whatever it is, thanks anyway, and I'm sorry your friend found out…” her voice trailed off a bit and she looked uncomfortably in the distance. In her mind, that is where she turned on her heel and walked away, but in reality, her feet stayed put. Thankfulness and apologies really weren't her thing, even back in her human years she'd been headstrong.
