Sylvia looked around, making sure that the coast is clear, before taking a look at the contents. Her eyebrows were raised to her hairline at the sight of the eighty platinum coins, and she commented "He wasn't kidding when he said that this noble was paying the gang handsomely! Holy crow," She then took a look at the list of shops. She nodded in agreement with Pylia and she commented "This definitely counts as damning evidence," She then cupped her chin with her fingers, "The list will be especially damning if we can find some other document with the same person's writing on it..."

She then blinked as Shortfang pointed out the name of their friends' name being on the hit list. She answered him, "You're right...!" She then commented "I think we should warn everyone who is on the list here. Just in case the gang has another way to get this hit list. ...Wouldn't hurt to warn Ferric either," She then took out Yorik's book and wrote down the names on the hit list, and wrote some other notes pertaining to this investigation on a blank page.

She then put the note and the coins back in the cylinder, and she told her friends, "I think we should hold onto this as evidence and get it to Shor, or anyone else on his team. Maybe Shor can compare the writing on the note with the other nobles' writing since he does a lot of politics,"
When Sylvia realized that she was basically rummaging through the trashcan, she shuddered a bit. She did not like the feeling of rummaging through garbage. But she did what needed to be done. She found the cookies and beneath them and their own sludge was a sealed cylinder. This was definitely suspicious, so after she grabbed it, she hurried back to Pylia with it in hand. She nodded to Pylia in agreement and she answered her, "Yeah, I agree. Maybe we should look at this in a different area than the docks and the Throaty Mermaid,"

She then looked to Buddy and if he was looking towards her, she would wave to him as though to say "We've got what we were looking for, let's get out of here!" Before leading the way, away from the gang's hideout.
While Pylia pulled out the meat to distract the dog, Sylvia herself got into the Satyr Stance so that if she needed to, she could bolt out of there. She was surprised to see Buddy take the meat and walk up to the dog. She watched as he led the dog away from the barrel, and fed the dog the meat. He was using magic to kill the various bugs and ticks that were in the dog's fur. She smiled at the sight and she nodded approvingly at how Buddy handles the distraction. She answered Pylia quietly, "Right. I'm going in,"

Her plan was to quietly and quickly move to the barrel, get the items out, and get back out of sight so that they can inspect the contents. So, she darted to the barrel, lifted the barrel lid up, grabbed what was in there, closed the barrel as quietly as possible, and hurried back to Pylia's and Shortfang's side.

Sylvia listened to what Pylia said, and she nodded in agreement. She then added, "I'll try and grab what's in the barrel then. I think this calls for stealth and speed if we're not to attract any attention and to make a quick getaway. I'll leave the dog distracting to you," She then looked to Dinah in her arms, knowing that the dog was after Dinah earlier, and she decided "I'll call you back here later, Dinah," before snapping her fingers and sending Dinah back to the familiar plane for now. She didn't want that dog to go after Dinah again. She then said to her friends, "Let's get to their hideout," She then led the way, trying to not be conspicuous.
Sylvia thought over the suggestions for a moment, and she answered Pylia, "I don't think going back to that place to check out what was in the barrel's a good idea right now. The dog is barking, and there was one more person in that place. I wouldn't be surprised if the dog's put him on high alert now," She then continued on the other possibility, "As for the other possibility, we could certainly try that, but..." Her face then grimaced at the thought and she felt sick as she spoke, "Ugh. Considering the fact that they've been spending their money on women, and his attitude towards them...I wouldn't be surprised if he tried anything..."
She let out a sigh of relief when she saw that Dinah was back in front of her. But she honestly hoped that the barking didn't attract anyone who could have seen Dinah disappear. She hoped that her reflexes had been faster than that dog...
As she let out the sigh, she pet Dinah on the head, and she muttered "Good job, Dinah. Sorry about that," She then looked to her friends and she answered, "Oh yeah. Definitely found some important things out. I just hope nobody saw Dinah disappear though. She ran into a mangy dog. I'm pretty sure that dog is the one barking right now,"

She then stood up, with Dinah in her arms, and she informed her friends, "The gang...they've been getting their pay from the dead drop boxes with the Lightning Company's emblem on them. Tonight, someone's going to drop off their pay for yesterday. I think that was what the map we found was for. Patches has some sort of investment plan. A woman dropped off some badly made food, I think they were cookies, in a barrel. Near that barrel was the Lightning Company's emblem engraved in the brick. So they have other allies than just the corrupt guards and a nobleman's son,"
Sylvia mentally face palmed herself, realizing that of course the barrel would be closed so that animals can't get inside, but it did smell like somebody really messed up on their cookie recipe. Too much water, not enough flour. Of course, she caught sight of the Lightning Company's mark in the brick. So this was another dead drop for them...
However, what Dinah heard and saw next, chilled Sylvia's blood. A mangy dog was attracted to the smell, and it just saw Dinah. She gasped, and didn't even hesitate. She snapped herself out of Dinah's vision and hearing, and quickly snapped her fingers to summon Dinah back to her, and out of that precarious situation. She pointed towards the space right in front of her, hoping to get Dinah out of there in time.
Sylvia would have raised an eyebrow at the sight if she could. Why had he been checking the barrels? Her question was answered with another peculiar sight. A woman dropped something off in one of those barrels. Whatever she put in that barrel...it smelled like somebody hadn't been watching the timer properly when they were baking cookies. She noticed that Dinah was eyeing the barrels with curiosity. She noticed that Dinah was eyeing the barrel curiously, and she couldn't blame Dinah. She was curious too. She told Dinah, "Why don't we take a look at what's in there, shall we Dinah? Keep an eye out on your surroundings though, and don't touch what's inside,"
Sylvia listened for any sign of a conversation, or for any sound that would indicate that someone would come in. However, nothing came except for one of them saying that they were going out for a drink. After hearing that, she decided to tell Dinah, "OK. Climb back up Dinah, but stay on the rooftops. Try and see if you can get a good look at who leaves and enters the building from there. Stay out of sight," She figured that if Dinah can see who is leaving, then she can see one of the members of the gang, as well as see who else comes into the particular building.
Sylvia listened in on the conversation. If she had been in her actual body, she would be shaking her head at them. The mention that someone was about to drop off the pay for yesterday this time around caught her attention. Her curiosity was piqued even more at the mention that Patches has an 'investment plan', and then they were grumbling about the dead drop box. She wondered if the map they found in the dead drop was meant to lead whoever was supposed to drop off the payment to them....

Hm...they might have accidentally thrown a monkey wrench in that plan. But still, what she heard could very well mean that the Lightning Company may have ben the ones dropping off payments to the gang from Erendal...

Seeing how Dinah tried to climb down a little further, but couldn't, Sylvia decided to tell Dinah, "Stay there, Dinah. Don't make a sound," She just hoped that Dinah can hold on, and listen in more on the conversation that may take place. Who knows...maybe Patches will enter the conversation.
