Goodbye Miura. One of my favorite fantasy authors of all time has gone too soon.

Don't forget, they made another new hero named Screentime. A meme loving superhero who got his powers from exposure to internet gas. He has the ability to basically be a smart phone.

Sometimes I open up a new tab on my browser and I forget what I intended to do with it... What am I doing here again?

Whenever you're feeling down, just remember that this man is cheering you on: youtu.be/KxGRhd_iWuE
Hero - Someone who performs an extraordinarily brave and generous act of courage in order to protect those who are incapable of doing so on their own, even if it's at the cost of their own life and well being. When Katsuo was growing up, he was always enamoured with the idea of heroism. He wanted to be like the courageous men and women he saw fighting the unending forces of evil that constantly plagued the world. How they did everything they could to keep everyone safe, even if it meant sacrificing themselves in the process. When the going got tough, they gave it their all and stood back up, fighting for what they believed in. The hopes, dreams, and aspirations of the world rested upon their shoulders alone, but they refused to surrender. That young boy wanted nothing more than to be like his idol, Midorenger of Color Sentai Nirenger.
Four years ago, while walking home from school, the thirteen year old boy came across a strange, bucket wearing figure who walked out of the nearby ocean. He witnessed the monster tear through police barricades and buildings alike with little effort, his path of destruction never faltering for even a second. Not until they came. The Nirengers. Katsuo had followed Buckethead the whole way and had seen all of the carnage he left in his wake, just for this very moment. Finally, he'd get to watch the thing brought to its knees as his childhood heroes beat the snot out of the villain!
Fate, however, is a cruel mistress, and instead of witnessing their victory, he was a victim of the horror that was their defeat. Right before his eyes, he saw each Nirenger imapled, disemboweled, dismembered, decapitated, and eviscerated until only two remained. With both of those final two defenders too injured and too fatigued to go on though, Buckethead continued his walk of devastation until Katsuo saw the murderer finally take its own life.
The young teen would spend months in therapy after The Fall of the Nirengers, before finally he was given a clean bill of health. Though the heroes he had once looked up to were either dead or never seen again, his determination hadn't suffered the same fate. In fact, it had been strengthened. With so few heroes left, who better to take up the mantel than their biggest fan? He would train night and day to be as powerful as those he still strived to be. It was never enough though. Katsuo could never hope to reach the same level of power as enhanced beings like Midorenger. Not without help. Help that he would be granted by an unlikely source.
The Spirit of the Earth is a benevolent entity, who's sole purpose is to keep both the planet and it's inhabitants safe. Whenever something powerful enough to possibly extinguish all life on the world approaches, it grants immeasurable power to one champion it deems worthy. While in a dream, the entity came to Katsuo, and warned him of an impending terror that was coming to devour Earth and all who lived on it. This Entity of Destruction originated from another universe altogether, and satisfied its hunger by feeding on matter, the only thing capable of staving off its starvation. There was hope of defeating this beast though, and The Spirit of the Earth chose him to become this hope.
That was two weeks ago. With no nearby threats to test his powers on yet, Katsuo has yet to make his public appearance. With new, terrifying monsters and evil, mischievous villains making their presences know to the the world every day, it's unlikely that this period of uneventfulness will last forever.
Personality: Most people would describe Katsuo as naive and ingenuous, and they'd probably be right, the young man has a very childlike view of the world around him. However, were you to say this to his face, he would merely shrug off the insult and continue on his way. Call it conviction or call it stubbornness, he will continue to do what he believes to be the right thing. Even if the odds are against him and his back is against the wall, he will not give up on his ideals and he will fight until his last breath is spent before he'll ever consider doing something morally wrong.
Powers: The more he believes in himself, the more his strength will slowly grow. It isn't instant though. It builds up at a steady pace and if he has any doubt within his heart, it will grow much slower, possibly even decreasing.
Origin of Powers: Katsuo was chosen to become the champion of the planet after the Spirit of the Earth chose him to defend it from a far off, future threat.
Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep... Robert's alarm continued to blare into his ear to announce the rising of the morning Sun as well as the beginning of classes. It took every single ounce of his self-control to not just stay in bed after hitting the off switch to the annoying clock. He'd worked so hard to get into Beacon after all, and he knew how disappointed his family would be in him if he decided to skip, just because of last night.
As night fell over Beacon and the many relatives of the academy's student body filed out toward the docks to be taken back to their homes, Robert and Priscilla found themselves enjoying the sight of Vale as the far off lights all began to slowly switch on. "Y'know, things got pretty hairy out there on that mission to Fort Jaeger. I honestly wasn't sure what I would do without you, even before things started to get out of hand," the bespectacled boy said, flashing his girlfriend a smile. "It often times feels like the people I get close to always leave me for some reason or another. If anyone was able to come back though, I'm glad it was you."
After finishing his shower, Robert approached the bathroom mirror, wiping away the condensation that fogged up the glass. He stared into his reflection for several moments, trying to figure out if there was a reason to it. What was it that always seemed to drive people away? "You're such an idiot," he told himself, lowering his head in defeat. "Why did you ever think that you'd be allowed to keep it? That one sliver of happiness. That one connection that helped make everything better. Why?" Changing into his school uniform, he left his team's dorm before anyone could see him like he was now. Though would they have even brought up his less-than-cheery disposition even if he hadn't departed before they had woken?
The boy was so ecstatic, he couldn't even notice that Priscilla's smile had faded several moments ago, before they had even walked up the steps to get to rooftops. "Robbie? I need to tell you something. I didn't want to say anything earlier because I thought it might make things awkward, but..." she began to say, trailing off as she gathered the strength to break the poor boy's heart.
The first three classes of the day seemed to just blur by. If asked, Robert couldn't even say what was even discussed in any of them. He was like a machine, filling out the tasks expected of him, like being present and in his seat when he was supposed to, but anything more complicated than that seemed to just go completely ignored. Every word said by the professor would go in one ear and out the other. Any assignments passed to him would be accepted before being handed to the next person without even a glance at what was on the paper. Requests to borrow supplies like an extra pencil were met with only silence as the redhaired student glared forward at the front of the classroom. He almost seemed to emit an uncomfortable aura to anyone that sat by him, as if at any moment he was just going to explode with rage.
"Hmm? What is it? You can tell me. Is it about that whole thing with Trad and Sand? I'm still not quite sure what that was all about bu-"
"No, it's not that, it's..."
Grimm Studies. Fourth period. Lunch had been spent on the same rooftop as light night so as to avoid interacting with anyone, so it wasn't until Prof. Port's class finally rolled around that Robert was snapped out of his funk. He recalled how on their very first day, several students had been chosen to take on some lower level Grimm in order to demonstrate to the rest of the class the do's and do not's of fighting the beasts.
"Robbie... I'm leaving."
This was it. This was where he could finally let out all of this pent up aggression that had been stored up inside, all collected from his attempts to stay calm, despite everything he'd been through. This was where he could finally let loose. May the four maidens have mercy on the poor creature that he would be facing down.
Convel watched with approval as the Frenchwoman and the Necromancer both made their respective attacks, unphased by the army of the dead that had dug itself up from beneath the Earth. In fact, he had the odd hankering to try and take a bite out of the skeletal samurai that had just walked past him, though the heat of battle was able to distract him enough to keep the Wolf Fang from committing such strange urges.
Upon hearing the short Sorcerer behind him shout out something along the lines of, "Foolish mortals, bare witness to the great and magnificent powers of Sen! The clown witch who has no qualms against zapping all of her comrades with a terrifying lightning bolt! Including the ever lovable and oversized puppy that just saved my life with his large shield," Convel turned his head to the girl's direction to see how badly his fur was about to be singed.
"Now is not the time to be stripping!" he shouted toward her as she lifted up her skirt, only noticing afterward that her skirt was made of tomes and books and not fabric or cloth. Watching as a surge of electricity burst from her fingertips and struck the oni in front of them both, Convel realized that he had possibly misheard her evil villain monologue just slightly. It didn't matter though. She had taken some of the heat off of him and had now given the Guardian a chance to change from a defensive stance to an offensive one.
Raising his sword above his head, the Wolf Fang growled out the word, "Cross Slash!" before swinging the weapon downward in a diagonal motion, not once but twice. With Sen's lightning and his sword, the two had slain their first enemy with the cliche yet effective power of teamwork. Now just an entire army to go.
Also have to ask. But how many of the original players are left ?
There's me, Lucius Cypher, MULTI_MEDIA_MAN, Ayazi who originally went by Shadowkiller912, Sho Minazuki, and Harinezumikouken might still be a part of the RP. That's everyone that was here at the beginning and still are.
Bio: When she was a young girl, Makoto's parents divorced, forcing her to switch between households at the end of every week. Wanting to impress their daughter, both parents would often spoil her with whatever she wanted, which was how she would be introduced to the world of gaming. Having such an early background in gaming and a lot of time to spend on them, since her parents would often let her do whatever she wanted, she gained a lot of skill and experience that would help her win several competitions when she was old enough to meet the minimum age requirement.
By the time the cataclysm hit, Makoto had reached semi-fame status, having won most tournaments she entered, and if she didn't win at least placing in the top five. Now she looks for an at least semi-competent group of players to join, because even she knows that soloing an MMO is not a good idea.
Personality: Makoto is a very capable player, having won many competitions and contests with her skill in gaming, and not restricted to any genre either. However, her long-time winning streak has caused success to go to her head, and while she can certainly back up her claims, there's no doubt that the woman is full of herself. Any party she joins can look forward to her reminders of how great she is at the game every several minutes. Unfortunately for her, when she had been brought into the world of Elder Tale, she had the misfortune of being placed into the body of one of her healer characters. She's glad that, at the very least, she spawned in the body that had already reached the game's previous level cap, but that doesn't change the fact that Makoto has always preferred taking her problems head on and she isn't afraid to let others know of her frustration at her predicament.
Requiem of Faith: A phantasmal-class katana, compared to most Kannagi weapons it does significantly more damage in close range, though its amplification of her spells is slightly reduced.
Raiment of Swiftness: An artifact-class cloth armor set, it boosts the wearer's speed and chances of evasion, though at the cost of not providing much in the way of protection compared to most level 90 gear.
Radiant Talisman: An artifact-class jewelry that protects the wearer from all manner of curses, though it does not protect against any other kind of debuffs.
Prayer to the Four Quarters: When cast, Prayer to the Four Quarters creates black, white, red, and blue barriers, not unlike Purification Barrier, that forms a rectangular prism. It does not use a lot of MP, is sturdier than other barriers, has a near-instantaneous casting time, and can be used even when skills are prohibited due to an abnormal effect. Nonetheless, its 24-hour cooldown time makes it reserved for emergency situations.
Protective Barrier: The caster reduces the damage received by an individual ally. It is 4 times stronger than Purification Barrier, but has a longer cool-down time.
Purification Barrier: When cast, the caster reduces damage received by 5%.
Healing Prayer: A basic healing spell whose effect is common to all Healer classes. It is much less efficient than other Kannagi spells, and thus is used only when necessary.
Prayer of Recovery: It allows the caster to heal a small amount of HP to a designated individual. In return for the small amount of healing, it has a very low cooldown and casting time. It is often used in conjunction to the Cleric's Heal skill to speed up healing.
Prayer for the Soul: Prayer for the Soul is a spell that resurrects an ally who dies in a battle. It has a long casting time, and it uses a lot of MP. As a result, this spell is not practical for use in a battle field. The spell's cooldown time is 300 seconds.
Notice of Exorcism: This spell clears one debuff from an ally. It has a cooldown time of 20 seconds.
Bug's Light: This spell produces a source of light in the shape that vaguely resembles a firefly, allowing the caster and allies to see things in the dark. This magic is equivalent to Magic Light of Mage classes.
Divine Prevention: A target of the caster's choice becomes completely shielded from any possible debuffs that might affect them. However, the spell only lasts for 20 seconds.
Sacred Land: Creates a designated area in which party members will only suffer 50% of all damage inflicted to them.
Reflective Barrier: Applies a shield to the target ally that reflects one physical or magical spell back at the attacker.
Shield of Urgency: A passive ability that automatically applies a barrier to allies that fall below 20% hp. This shield cannot be applied to the same ally more than once within 2 minutes.
Sacramental Shield: Applies a barrier to a party member that also heals them for as long as its active, however the barrier is much weaker in comparison to Purification Barrier.
Impeding Barrier: Unlike most barriers cast by kannagis, this one is cast on enemy units. While it does significantly reduce the damage they take, their damage output is reduced just as much. Good against enemies with high dps but low hp.
Staunch Wall: Creates a large, clear wall that blocks 100% of ranged attacks. Its drawbacks are that it is immobile and it does not differentiate who's attacks it blocks, preventing allies from making attacks just as much as enemies.
Great Barrier of the Migrating Spirit: A skill that is available to high level kannagi, it creates an area of the map where no harm will come upon the caster's party, while also granting a small healing buff.

I don't know how, but I've somehow missed all the mentions of me here. Really sorry if anyone thought I was dead/ignoring them. I did take a short hiatus from RPing a few weeks ago due to some RL stuff and have slowly been getting back into the groove of things. Forgive me if I missed something important.
