If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

This RP reminds me of "The Winter War" (The Russo-Finnish War). I can't help but conjure images from this movie.
Posted. I took the liberty of assigning everyone to a foxhole, that your characters should dig. PFC Dupont and Heinrich Strauss are together. Gefreiter Amsel and PFC Franz are foxhole buddies and at the squad CP are Manfred Krebs, Halliger and Hasso Aldo in the center of the squad line. We have at least seven enemy halftracks, infantry mounted heading towards us. I also wrote in that our squad was the center squad for the platoon. The first is on our right and the third is on our left. The platoon CP is in the farmhouse to our rear.
Manfred Krebs received word by telephone at the farm near the Grünwald. He told his father and began to pack his things. "Where you off to, sport?" Lukas quipped when he walked into his room.

"War," Manfred muttered as he continued to gather his things. He didn't bother looking up at his brother.

"What?!"

Manny looked up at him, face intentionally left in a neutral unemotional way, "yes Lukas. There is a war on. Apparently Goosestep Georgie seems to enjoy his summers in the Augstberg countryside. Maybe he likes to ski? Anyway, I'm heading off to war." Manny returned to pulling his things together. "Caleb is coming too." Their youngest brother was serving in the third battalion's number three kompanie. "I will look in on him when I can. Who knows where we'll end up."

"Does dad know?" Lukas was slightly disturbed by the news, not only because he was fearful for his brothers, but because he drew the exemption. As the eldest son, he was expected to run the farm. Since the wool, lamb, corn, barley and wheat grown at the farm, went to supply the nation as well as its army, he was needed at home to continue what he does best. As for, Tomas, he had a new life in Luzern and would undoubtedly remain as a Polizei im the capital city.

"Sure he does," Manfred quipped. "He was here when the phone rang. He's taking me to town."

Manfred picked up his pack and scrambled down the stairs. He hefted the submachine gun over his right shoulder and reached for his cap. The helmet remained attached to the belt of his webbing. When he stepped outside, Jakob, his father stood by the Würms Türingauto, the family's motor car. The elder Krebs held the door open for his son.

Once inside the car, Jakob looked at Lukas, "see to the farm, son. I'm taking your brother into town. I'll be back in a few hours." The car scuttled down the road leaving a trail of dust behind until it hit the pavement.

At the assembly station, father parted ways with his sons. Both got a handshake and Caleb went off in search of his kompanie. Manfred found the other members of second squad, PFC Rudolph Halliger, PFC Leon Dupont, PFC Heinrich Strauss, Gefreiter Hasso Aldo, PFC Balalika Franz, and Gefreiter Hans Dietrich Amsel. The squad was going to war with five vacancies. Gerd, his Assistant did not show up. After they received their ammunition and loaded onto the back of the three-ton truck, Manfred started speaking to the squad.

"Heinrich," Manny addressed PFC Strauss. "Gerd didn't show up. You're the most experienced. I want you to be assistant squad leader. Can you handle that?" He looked at the man, who happened to be the largest in the squad also; a trait that should help him in a leadership role. When we go into the attack, you control the pigs." Pig is the nickname given to the squad machine guns carried by Franz and Dupont.

"Is anyone missing anything?" Korporal Krebs looked at each of the soldiers in the truck. The back flap was up to allow light into the cargo space. "You should all have water in your canteen. We'll be on the road for the next hour. I suggest you get some sleep because you don't know when you'll be able to sleep again." An infantryman can sleep anywhere at any time. Korporal Krebs answered their questions and nodded off himself until he heard the squeal of the breaks when the three-ton arrived at its destination.

The squad unloaded from the truck. Leutnant Pfeffer assigned the 2nd squad the center sector in the platoon defense. It was a one hundred and fifty meter long stretch including a barn which they could use to sleep in if convenient. First squad would be on their right and the third squad on their left. The platoon machine guns were located one in the first squad sector and one in the 3rd squad sector. The Platoon Command Post (CP) was located in the farmhouse, where the platoon leader, Leutnant Pfeffer was located with the platoon sergeant and five runners.

"PFC Franz, I want you to take this spool of wire and run it to the platoon CP," Korporal Krebs instructed the 20-year old rifleman. The wire would be staked off at the squad CP and then strung out to the platoon CP. Each of the squad leaders had a small field phone connected to the platoon leader's phone at the CP. Korporal Krebs knew he couldn't cover a hundred fifty meters of terrain with seven men. He had argued with the Leutnant about this point, but it got him nowhere. He had to make do with what he had.

PFC Dupont and Heinrich Strauss were assigned the left side of the line. They would need to prepare a defensive fighting position (DFP or foxhole) that the two of them would share. Gefreiter Amsel and PFC Franz would have the right side of the sector and construct a similar position there. PFC Halliger and Gefreiter Aldo would share the squad Command Post with Korporal Krebs in the center. They would build a three-man position. Once the positions were complete, there would be approximately 50 - 70 meters between fighting positions. The three foxholes would be built about a hundred meters from the barn and someone would be on the line 24 hours a day, awake to watch what was going on to the front.

"Korporal Krebs," Leutnant Pfeffer spoke sternly to the 30-year old Korporal. "Take your squad out tonight to patrol the wood line to our front at zero one hundred hours. Leave the line at the right end of first squad and re-enter at the left end of second squad. I want you to follow this route," the leutnant indicated their route of travel on a topographical map he held in his hand. "You will cover the Kompanie frontage out about a kilometer to the front. If you see the enemy, avoid contact and report what you see when you return to the Kompanie. If you make contact with the enemy, break contact and return ASAP (as soon as possible). I expect you to report to me as soon as you get back. This is a twenty five hundred meter move. It should take you no more than three hours to complete. I will be at the Platoon CP at zero four hundred when you return. Any questions?"

"Sir, should we take any special equipment?" The korporal asked the Leutnant. Manfred understood why they were doing the patrol. They need to know if the Holtish were out in the woods. The leutnant answered his questions and returned to second squad who were already constructing foxholes.

"Engines, and not from our side!" Gefreiter Aldo hissed. Manfred was digging when the young private spoke.

"Put your uniforms back on! Get into your positions! Get ready and keep your heads down!" Korporal Krebs barked out several orders. 'Looks like the nighttime patrol is off the table tonight.' Korporal Krebs hunched down inside the depression between Hasso Aldo and Rudy Halliger flanked him in their dugout waiting to see what would show. The soldiers had removed their uniform blouses while digging their holes. Some of the soldiers referred to those holes as shallow graves.

Manfred reached for the field phone and rang up the platoon CP. "Leutnant, we have what sounds like vehicle movement to our front, in the treeline." He informed his leader what they heard. As he listened to his Leutenant, he saw a half-track burst out of the wood line. "Mein Herr, I have Holtish halftracks popping out of the trees at 600 meters, they are here! at least seven vehicles moving slowly on line towards the platoon." He got off the phone, hunkered down and watched the enemy vehicles.

Question are we doing about support for LMG fire? AFAIK it's possible to fire the BAR without an assistant, just a bit more complicated and unwieldy. In this kind of situation would both LMG trained characters attempt to fire individually or group up to fire one more efficiently?

It would be better to have two LMGs with one man, carrying each than to sacrifice the firepower in favor of having an asst. Gunner. When I was a rifle platoon leader, I had 23 men in a platoon that was authorized 39. filling the M60 Machine guns in my platoon was more important. We didn't have Asst. Gunners or Ammo bearers because of it. The firepower from two BARs is more effective than having one BAR and one bolt action rifle.
On Paper, I would say the squad is authorized the following:

Leadership
1. Squad Leader - Korporal
2. Assistant Squad Leader - Senior PFC or Junior Korporal
Machine gun Team #1
3. Gunner
4. Asst. Gunner
Machine gun team #2
5. Gunner
6. Asst. Gunner
Scout Team
7. Scout
8. Scout
Rifle Team
9. Rifleman
10. Rifleman
11. Rifleman
12. Rifleman

On paper, the squad is authorized 12 soldiers, but in reality, we show up with seven. We can go without the Asst. Gunners. Priority fill would be to the MG gunners and Scouts. Then the riflemen. The Asst SL would be a dual role for some "High Speed" PFC.
I took an SL (Corporal) slot, HeySeuss. Meet KPL Manfred Krebs.
HeySeuss said I also think, in the nature of the call ups in the 1973 Yom Kippur war, that not everyone will make it to their callup on time and that the unit will go to war with the people that have arrived and make do with short-staffed squads because they got orders and couldn't wait for the stragglers. That'll explain why an all-PC squad is short-staffed...and leave room for later arrivals to the RP.

This works for me. I'd say an authorized squad or section (UK) of 10 or 12 is good. Probably 12 with two LMG teams and then go with what you got, even if that is only a half a dozen troops.
Hello everyone. HeySeuss has invited me to come join you in this RP. It looks like a fun one. I've been RPing on and off with HS for two or three years now. We share an interest in several different themes. As HS is well aware, I have real world military experience and have been reading the subject of military history for about 40 years. I have no intention of correcting anyone or telling anyone what to do. Do whatever you like. We are here to have fun. My character may instruct on certain relevant topics, but view that simply as In Character discussion/activity. I am here to have fun with writing just like you guys. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. If any of you also has real world military experience, I would love to hear about it.
Name: Manfred "Manny" Krebs
Rank: Korporal (Kpl)
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Manny stands 5' 11" tall and weighs 180 Lbs. He has short brown hair and blue eyes. Manny has a scar from a flesh wound on his left shoulder and on his back from a puncture wound. The scar on his back was a result of a dog attack as a teenager and the shoulder scar was from a bullet that grazed his flesh.

Skillset:
- Survival: Manny has both formal training and experience in survival in warm climes as well as winter/cold weather survival techniques. This is with both shelter constructions and finding food viable for consumption. As a side benefit of survival skill, Manfred is adept at using a lensatic compass and reading a topographic map.

- Mountaineering: Since Manfred grew up in the mountains, he has a natural inclination for ascending and descending elevations. He also has formal training and experience in knot tying and the use of ropes climbing and rapid descent. The training also instructed him on how to move heavy loads up and down mountainous terrain.

- Cross Country skiing: One of the many benefits of living in the mountains is the necessity to learning to ski cross-country. Often times in the winter it was the only way to move about.

- Pugilist/hand to hand combat: Manfred is a scrapper. He enjoys fist fighting. He often would wrestle with his brothers trying out various techniques for taking down someone and practicing them. He has some training in a hand-to-hand combat technique known as Savate, which translates as 'Old Boot'. The principals of Savate are that you never give your attacker the opportunity to fight back. It is a relentless assault intended to overwhelm your opponent's senses. The technique uses a variety of kicks and punches. Trained kicks include fouetté (a roundhouse kick making contact with the top of foot or shoelaces), practiced high (figure), medium (médian) or low (bas); the chassé (side ("chassé lateral") or front ("chassé frontal") piston-action kick, high (figure), medium (médian) or low (bas); revers ,frontal or lateral ("reverse" or hooking kick) making contact with the sole of the shoe, high (figure), medium (médian), or low (bas); and coup de pied bas ("low kick", a front or sweep kick to the shin making contact with the inner edge of the shoe, performed with a characteristic backwards lean) low only. Savate punches include direct bras avant (jab, lead hand); direct bras arrière (cross, rear hand); crochet (hook, bent arm with either hand) and uppercut (either hand). Manfred has mastered various take down techniques using counter joint methods in order to "Persuade" a combatant to do what you want him to do.

- Brewer: Manfred has experience brewing beer from his father's farm.

History:
Manfred Krebs grew up on a farm at the foot of the Grünwald just south of Schwarzenberg, about four kilometers south of Malters. Manfred's father, Jakob raised sheep and grew corn, wheat and barley. As a hobby, Jakob Krebs brewed his own alcoholic malted beverage. His four sons learned this craft as well.

Manfred has three brothers; Lukas, 31; Tomas, 29 and Caleb, 28. The four Krebs brothers did everything together and relied on each other for support. They are all very close. Lukas Krebs is currently running their father's farm. Tomas is serving as a Polizei in Luzern and Caleb also works the farm with his brothers, Lukas and Manfred.

Manny is happy with his lot in life and appreciates being with his family. He spent his two years as a conscript with the 1st Jäger Battalion. After ending his time on active conscripted service, he returned to work the farm with his brothers and joined the 3rd Battalion, Jägers. After seven years with the 3rd Battalion, Manfred was promoted to Korporal and assigned as a squad leader. He enjoys working with the 'boys' in his Kompanie and finds their drills to be satisfying. He also takes them to the local beerhall when the drills have ended. The word, 'boys' refers to the young women in the squad as well.

Manny attended the local Hauptschule im Malters knowing he would be working the farm with his brothers. School was just one of those necessities one tolerates in order to get on with life. A necessary evil endured for the sake of others. He rated average scores even though he understood all of his subjects. He just didn't feel they were important.

Psychological Profile:
Manfred is a positive, good-natured man who enjoys the company of others. He prefers to be with groups of friends than to be alone. Solitary confinement would be a terrible condition to endure. He loves his family, friends and comrades with passion. He is not one to hold his tongue and is often found speaking his mind. Due to the nature of combat, he knows not to question his superiors in front of subordinates, but will do so if he feels the need and when the time is appropriate. Complaining up the chain of command in a military hierarchy is best for the good of the organization. Manfred believes it is necessary to never complain in front of subordinates and would never ask his men to do something he himself would never do.

Equipment:
Maschinenpistole m1937- MP37 /w five 50-round box magazines
bayonet
combat helmet
Load Bearing Equipment - LBE (canteen, ammunition pouches, first aid kit and rear butt pouch)
weapons cleaning kit
wet weather gear
roll of twine
pocket knife
toilet paper
pad of paper
pencil
cold weather parka
a few packs of smokes
flask of Apfelkorn (Apple whiskey)
lensatic compass

You forgot Le River too xD, he's a student, lol
Wasn't necessarily that I forgot to include River. I saw his age "21" and assumed he was on staff. I didn't even get to occupation. I'll go redo that.

As far as Adrien's blood it would have to do with the 'taint' Adrien has consumed. Adrien draws malaise which can be interpreted as evil or tainted blood. yes, it is stored as energy, but could harm someone like Alucard with his Vampiric ways.

Aww, no Apollo :(

My apologies. I was focusing on the students. Just before I posted, I quickly went back and grabbed some of the faculty. I must have missed Apollo.
