Actually, I think the islands are perhaps a better choice. I won't argue against the trade war, however- because I can certainly see the appeal- but I think the islands sound more interesting and bring up the communism/capitalism dispute better (which is always a major interest of mine)

Just casting my vote, is all.

Yeah, starting a world war right with the first post may be not the smartest idea.
I want other developments first. Growing tension, minor wars, etc.
I don't mind if my country finds itself in a mess but a World War would overshadow practically anything else.

What he said. Tension is always a better way, that way when it bursts out and the bombs go off (there will be bombs) it makes more sense. Plus, I personally find it more entertaining that way. Watching as both sides move the daggers closer to the other's throat.

Willy, you shove you ideas down everyone's throats. It's very annoying, and what's worse is that you apparently don't realize how extraordinarily rude you are in your behavior.

You're not critiquing or starting friendly discussions, you're just bothering everyone over nothing. I've read your arguments, and they don't even make sense. You keep talking about what was possible in WW2, and I don't know if you've noticed-but this is fictional.

Nobody cares if his/her AA defenses were possible in WW2, and even if they did most people are willing to drop it because this is a silly hobby. But you can't seem to stop until you "win". You'll just keep bringing up reference after reference until someone gives up. Stop it, please, you're ruining this Roleplay. I like your nation, and I don't want you to drop out, but could you please just cool down your absurd arguments against everyone who does anything not possible in reality?

Look, Alfhedil's AA defense is entirely, irrefutably impossible in any sort of reality. I accept that, I know that. But I was never going to bug him/her with it because...well, who cares? Just leave us and our impossible technology alone.

Wait, I reread this and now even I'm a bit confused on what's going on. I originally put contested because the natives were obviously still fighting me, Yamatai had laid claim to some of the islands, and other nations presumably might not recognize Tin's ownership over the islands.

So to be clear, now:
1) Yamatai is not a part of this now; Voltus won't be controlling them as they compete with Tin over the islands as was first planned
2) The natives are still resisting colonization attempts and fighting invaders
3) The PRK is arming the natives to help them fight the Tinite invaders
4) Now the elves are also colonizing some islands and Tin is getting pissed
5) The Communists are bombing colonies on both Tin and elven controlled islands, in an attempt to get them to go to war for some reason?

This is a really complex situation and we should probably figure out what's going on (and what the backstory/motivations for everything is) so that we're all on the same page.

Nah, you basically just summarized it. It's your basic, super-tense-on-the-edge-of-world-destroying-war situation. Everyone wants a piece of these apparently really good islands, and the communists want to liberate the natives. Everyone is gonna start pulling allies and such in and soon the war is less about the islands and more about the ideals: Communism v. Capitalism, Monarchy v. Democracy, Old-style v. New Advancements. Just like the cold war was less about Russia versus America and more about the whole ideas of Communism versus Democracy and Capitalism.

At least, that's the way I got it.

No, KalMea despises communism, we're Theo-democratic Capitalists. There is a small group of socialist in my nation, but they're far too small and hated to be of any relevance for a long time. I basically have them as back-up incase things get boring, and we need an uprising to speed things up again.

So, no, I wouldn't be the ones to set things off. That would be our red friends.
