Stonefall: WillowClan Camp

Stonefall ate his prey thoughtfully, listening intently as she spoke of Maplestream's disappearance and her nerves about mentoring Honeypaw. "Well," he mewed softly, "Maplestream is a fine warrior. I'm sure that she just got sidetracked, perhaps she's been so busy hunting she lost track of time," he added with a soft rumble, clearly trying to cheer up Spidernose a bit. "I doubt that she's in serious danger, and I'm certain the patrol will find her soon."

He brushed his tail against Spidernose's side, trying not to think about how good it felt to have the slender cream-colored she-cat there, and added quietly, [color=8EBDC1]"Fernstar chose you because you are a bright, kind, fierce Warrior who will help Honeypaw become the same. Honeypaw has had a hard time in her short life, so I'm sure that Fernstar chose you to help her settle into the Warrior she is to become, because she knows you'll do a great job." Stonefall purred a little, unable to help himself. "I understand nerves though, I still...I still feel them," he admitted, hoping Spidernose wouldn't think less of him. He hadn't been Deputy that long, and still felt anxiety about the seriousness of the role.

Stonefall noticed Fernstar signaling him with her tail, and he stood, giving a stretch of his muscled limbs before shyly dipping his head to Spidernose. "It looks like Fernstar needs me for something. Thank you for sharing prey with me, Spidernose. I'll come relieve you of your patrol in a bit," he gently touched Spidernose's flank with his tail before trotting over to Fernstar, who was eating traveling herbs. "Fernstar, are you ready for your journey?" he asked, sitting near his leader, his eyes bright and alert.

Honeypaw: WillowClan Camp

Honeypaw's eyes were wide at Stormheart's stories of living with other animals. Honeypaw hadn't even seen many other animals, and her memories were hazy before living here, filled with cold and darkness. She couldn't fathom having a whole life before living in WillowClan! The little apprentice squeaked, "Wow! I can't believe you just...decided to come here! That's so cool!" Honeypaw shuffled her paws excitedly. She noticed that Spidernose wasn't talking to the deputy anymore, and she waved her tail excitedly at her mentor. "Did you know that Stormheart lived with something called a HORSE?!" The little tortoiseshell she-cat practically bounced with excitement, before realizing that she wasn't doing a very good job keeping watch. She sat back down with a soft plunk, her ears falling back in a bit of dismay. "Oh, I'm sorry Stormheart and Spidernose, I keep getting distracted when I'm supposed to be watching. I just...I like hearing stories so much." She tried to refocus on the watch, but was having a hard time focusing, her mind whirling with questions about Stormheart's previous life, wondering about Spidernose's previous life, wondering about what her own must have been like...
Just a heads up, I'm planning on getting a post out tomorrow!!! I was going to try and get one out tonight but I'm not feeling well :( hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
Grateful for all of you and can't wait to RP more!!

Honeypaw pricked her ears up at Stormheart's words. She could hardly believe her good fortune, to have been brought into a Clan filled with so many skilled, loyal Warriors, let alone so many that were willing to talk to her. She sat up from her crouched position and flicked her tail, nodding her head decisively at Stormheart's words. "I'm determined to do my best, Stormheart!" she mewed, her voice bright and focused. She glanced around the camp like Stormheart had done, trying to mimic his watchful gaze, but unable to keep track of more than the few cats just in her vicinity.

"How long have you been a Warrior, Stormheart? I want to be a Warrior so badly!" she asked, trying to distract herself from her nerves. It seemed like Stormheart was maybe a little nervous too, so Honeypaw thought that asking him questions might distract both of them. Besides, the patrol hadn't even left camp yet so there wasn't much to stay on the lookout for, right? And Spidernose and Stonefall didn't seem too concerned at the moment. Honeypaw's bright gaze focused on Stormheart, eager to hear the Warrior's story.

Stonefall: WillowClan Camp

Stonefall stood and trotted over to the fresh-kill pile, grabbing two mice that looked appetizing. The large, sleek tom strode back to Spidernose, dropping one of the mice at her paws. He crouched next to her, their sides just barely touching as they shared fresh-kill. In between bites, Stonefall meowed softly, not letting his words reach past Spidernose. "I hope Fernstar's journey goes smoothly. I'm a little worried, if I'm honest. Maplestream's disappearance is...unusual." The tom kept a keen eye on the camp entrance.

He sighed, trying to push the troubling thoughts away. There was no use fretting about what he couldn't control. All he could do was watch over the camp while Fernstar was gone and make sure that his clanmates felt safe. "How have you been doing?" he asked softly, turning his gaze to Spidernose. "I know things have been strange...and I just want to thank you for all that you've been doing to help. If you need anything, you can always let me know," he meowed softly, concern showing in his light green blue eyes, his long tail wrapping around his paws as they ate.
@The Elvenqueen I don't know what you're talking about, I totally don't ship it....O.O (just kidding they already seem v cute together I totally ship it XD)

Might not have time to get a post out today, I'll for sure get one out tomorrow.

Honeypaw listened intently to Spidernose's words, trying to memorize everything her mentor said. The chances of them encountering danger were low, but it was important to protect the Clan from a fox that the border patrol had seen earlier. Honeypaw's ears twitched at the mention of a fox, having never seen one, but knowing that they were incredibly dangerous. She nodded her head, keeping her eyes alert and focused on the camp's entrance.

Suddenly, Fernstar approached, and Honeypaw's heart warmed at the sight. Fernstar draped her tail over Honeypaw's small frame and the young she-cat purred, leaning into Fernstar a bit for reassurance. She nodded at Fernstar's words, her confidence in Honeypaw spurring the new apprentice to do her absolute best. "Thank you, Fernstar. I will not let you down!" She meowed, trying to project more confidence and bravery than she felt. As Fernstar left, Honeypaw took a moment to glance around the camp. She saw their new deputy, Stonefall, sitting with Moosepaw. She spotted the two Warriors who were to go on the patrol, though she couldn't recall their names. She spotted Blackpelt approaching with traveling herbs, and she dipped her head respectfully to the Medicine Cat. She kept glancing at Spidernose to make sure she was sitting her vigil correctly, trying to stay focused, but feeling slightly overstimulated and overwhelmed by all of the changes and thoughts whirling around in her head.

Stonefall dipped his head to Moosepaw, meowing quickly, "One moment, Moosepaw. I want to hear how your training is going but I need to check in with Spidernose." The sleek silver and black Deputy stood, dipping his head in brief farewell to the large apprentice, before trotting smoothly over to where Spidernose was sitting. He nodded in greeting to both Spidernose and Honeypaw, who looked incredibly nervous and possibly excited at his approach. Stonefall sat, curling his long tail around his paws.

"Spidernose," he began, "Thank you for sitting watch for the first part of the night. I'll relieve you at Moonhigh so you can get some rest." He hadn't been Deputy for long, but he knew that it was important he keep tabs on his Warriors and made sure they were taken care of, especially in Fernstar's absence. She was a beloved leader, and Stonefall would do everything in his power to make sure that the Clan she trusted him with was safe. "And thank you, Honeypaw, for sitting vigil with Spidernose. Congratulations to you both on your new mentor and apprentice relationship," he added, his voice rumbling deeply with heartfelt emotion. He had yet to have an apprentice, and he craved that special bond. Spidernose was a great Warrior, loyal and fierce, and he knew that she would teach Honeypaw well. Honeypaw opened her mouth to thank the Deputy, but all that came out was a slightly undignified squeak of "Thanks!!" and she nervously lowered her head to her paws. Stonefall couldn't blame her. They hadn't interacted much and she was very small and young.

He turned back to Spidernose, his eyes sparkling with merriment at the young apprentice's nerves around him. The little she-cat clearly didn't have a lot of experience with toms, and Stonefall had a tendency to be imposing at first glance, with his striking green-blue eyes and silver and black tabby coat. "Well, Spidernose, let me know if you need anything. I'm going to eat before I get some rest to relieve you at Moonhigh. Would you like something while you watch over the camp? I think I spotted some delicious looking mice on the fresh-kill pile," he meowed conversationally. He thought about pressing his nose to Spidernose's cream coat in solidarity during these uncertain times, but didn't want to overstep. He still felt a little out of place with some of the other cats, and while the cream-colored she-cat had made an impression on him, he wasn't sure where he stood, other than as new Deputy and sometimes patrol-mate.
Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, I promise I'll get a post out tomorrow! :3
Owleye: SunClan Camp

Interacting with: @Smystar99's Spottedfire

Owleye gently licked Spottedfire's shoulder as she spoke, draping his tail across her back. The larger tom enjoyed the warmth from Spottedfire leaning into him, but felt no small level of guilt at feeling a bit of happiness during such a sad time. He listened intently to Spottedfire, knowing that it must have been so difficult to have been with Badgerclaw during the accident.

"You can't blame yourself, Spottedfire," he meowed softly. "You're a good Warrior. It was simply Badgerclaw's time, StarClan must have a reason," he finished. It felt lame, like a meaningless platitude, but Owleye had to believe that StarClan had a plan for this, a reason for such a seemingly senseless death.

Or else...what could he believe in? If not in their ancestors in StarClan, watching over them?

He mrrowed very softly at her bringing up the memory of when they snuck out to help a loner, and Badgerclaw had punished them, though it was clear he hadn't wanted to. "Yes, I remember," he replied, sadness washing over him once again.

Spottedfire's spark and energy had always drawn Owleye. He was a quieter, solid tom, who never would have felt bold enough to sneak out of camp without Spottedfire urging him on. "That feels like such a long time ago, and yet somehow, like it was only a sunrise ago," he added. He sighed deeply, his amber eyes bright with sadness. "Poor Silverstar. It must be so difficult having to choose the next Deputy."

Idly he wondered who it would be. Fleetingly, briefly, he thought it might be him. The thought was terrifying, but also sort of thrilling. He would be honored to be singled out by Silverstar for such a high calling. But he knew that it wouldn't be him. He served his Clan solidly, quietly, in the background, and those weren't the traits needed for a Deputy. And yet...the thought vaguely intrigued him.

He pushed it aside, and rested his head on his paws. "Thank you for sitting with me, Spottedfire," he said softly, his voice a quiet, shy rumble. "How is your Birchcloud handling it?" he meowed, concerned for the Medicine Cat. He knew the Clan leadership worked closely together, so it must have been difficult for Birchcloud to hear that his sister was near an accident, let alone try to save the Deputy and not be able to, as the damage was too severe. It must be StarClan's plan... Owleye thought to himself again, trying to console himself more than anything else.

Mintfur: SunClan Camp > SunClan Border

A small-framed dilute calico she-cat slipped out of one of the the Warrior's Dens, trying not to be noticed. She wasn't sure where Mosspoppy was, likely somewhere sitting vigil for Badgerclaw. Mintfur's heart was deeply saddened by the sudden death of the Deputy. Having lived in SunClan all her life, she had known Badgerclaw fairly well, and couldn't imagine Silverstar leading without Badgerclaw's kind, steady presence by her side. Her light green eyes showed anxiety, and she hoped any clanmates that saw her attributed this to the anxiety of the unknowns when it came to the new Deputy.

Unfortunately, Mintfur had quite a lot else going on in her mind at the moment.

She slipped around the camp towards the tunnel exit, keeping her eyes downcast. Everyone around her seemed wholly focused on Badgerclaw's vigil, and it was relatively easy for Mintfur to slip out unnoticed. Once she had gotten a few paces away from the camp, she took a deep breath, looking up to the sky for reassurance. Oh StarClan...she thought to herself. Please stay with me. Please.

Mintfur picked up her pace as she wove in and out of the trees, losing herself in the familiar sounds of her territory. She heard a mouse scurrying past, and instinctively crouched down, keeping her pawsteps slow and light. The mouse didn't suspect a thing, and Mintfur was able to catch and kill it quickly, burying it near a tree root. That'll be nice to bring back to camp. I've just been out hunting, needing some space to sort my grief. That's it. Feeling a little better at having a plausible excuse for her journey at this hard time, Mintfur continued on, her thoughts scattered and confused.

She felt anxious, and terrified, and excited, and...all sorts of things.

Don't think about that now. Just keep going. You're almost there. She slowed as she approached SunClan's border, testing the air to see if she sensed any other cats. She was alone, for now, and she approached a particularly dense patch of bushes and squirmed her way inside. From here, she could see the border and surrounding territory, and settled down to wait for the cat she was meeting, desperately hoping no one back at camp thought much of her absence, especially Mosspoppy.
Just posted my first IC post, sorry it's a little shorter than I would usually write, but I have a migraine and can't look at the screen much longer :( looking forward to getting started with everyone!!! <3
Owleye: SunClan Camp

Interacting with: @AutumnFrost's Frostpaw & @Smystar99's Spottedfire

Grief overwhelmed Owleye. Badgerclaw had been a kind deputy, someone that Owleye had trusted deeply. Though Owleye was not loud-spoken, he always knew that Badgerclaw was there to listen to him. The large black-furred tom leaned into Frostpaw, knowing that his Apprentice must be feeling scared and overwhelmed. He lowered his head to touch his nose to the top of Frostpaw's head, closing his deep amber eyes for a moment.

"It is okay to mourn, Frostpaw," Owleye meowed softly. This was a lesson he had never wanted to teach, one that came hard for young apprentices, so filled with life and hope. "The truth of it is, we will all run in StarClan someday. Badgerclaw's day just came sooner than we would have hoped," he added.

He sighed, looking around at his grieving clanmates. Pain clouded eyes of all the cats around him, and Owleye stepped forward and gently licked Badgerclaw's head, dipping his head respectfully to Laurelcloud and Silverstar as he did so.

This never gets any easier, the tom thought to himself. He trotted back to Frostpaw, and murmured, "I am going to rest for awhile. If you would like to take this time to share tongues with Badgerclaw one last time, you may, and then get some rest with the other Apprentices. We'll see if a patrol needs our help later," he touched his nose to his apprentice's head one time, trying to emanate calm and understanding.

Owleye noticed Spottedfire sitting to the side of the camp, and decided to see how the tender she-cat was doing. He padded over, softly asking, "How are you doing, Spottedfire?" He sat down next to her, letting her warmth seep into his side, hoping she didn't mind the intrusion. As much as he enjoyed his time mentoring Frostpaw, sometimes he needed the companionship of a fellow Warrior, and Spottedfire always seemed to get him, in a way he didn't feel with many other of his clanmates.
