And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Not planning on leaving you behind, I just kinda had to rush my next entry up as I'm going to sleep right about now. You should be able to catch up though!
The guards didn't seem to mind him throwing snark at them. A shame, he would've loved to ask them the good old "Well have you been in the stonemasonry scene for the last century, have you?" A reeeal shame. As the dwarf was making his way to the door, the smaller human of the cell passed him and Travok could swear the man said something to him... was it something about sticking with them? Well, they had been here for longer so it would certainly be an option.

The amount of other volunteers surely was higher than he had thought, but maybe these people would rather see what was going down there rather than rot in this pungent trap. He couldn't blame them. As for him, well, the stonework was quite shoddy to his eye, evidently hastily done. Do it well or don't do it at all was the dwarven way and if at all possible he'd like to see that done. And perhaps there would be a way out out there?

Travok clutched his Arcane Focus under his beard. Technically, he had the might of the slumberer at his fingertips... before he had the chance to realise any thoughts of utilizing it though, a disembodied voice gurgled within the confines of his mind: "I̢t ҉w҉o͝u̕l͘d̴ ̢be͏ b͏est́..͘. t͡o l͟et͝ ̡those ̷t̷h͘ou̸gh̢ts͢ be̕.̛.̛. f͠or͜ no͘w̢.͠.̵.". That was enough to change his mind, so he chose to simply follow the man who had spoken to him.
After the group had arrived and Travok had made sure nobody from outside these bars was watching, he spat the purple, palm-sized gemstone he had hidden in his mouth onto his hands. "Ain't nobody separating a man from his god...", he murmured as he wiped his spit off the crystal on his clothes.

This place sure stank, but even with all of this smell in the air it was hardly as intense as what he had grown used to in the masonry scene... those fluids carried not so pleasant odours as well and there he had to be next to the bunch. The scent that floated in this room thus caused pretty much no reaction whatsoever in the dwarf.

The others in this cell were... well, there was really no connection he could draw between them. A dragonborn, an elf and two humans... the other of which kept staring at him, desperately. "What would you be looking at, hm?" Travok would have liked to ask, but before he got the chance the big human was already taking the stage.

Travok didn't really care to hear what they had to say, so he instead focused on his patron's blessing, gazed into the yellow and black coloured stripe that ran from the top of the sphere to bottom... although it was hard to tell if either side really was up, given it was perfectly round. As soon as he heard the word 'justice', however, he placed the gem into his left hand and pushed it behind his surprisingly orderly beard.

He followed their discussion, waiting to see whether there would be anything he wanted to add. The human was clearly dissatisfied with the treatment he received from his kin and Travok could only agree. Humans were short-lived and thus rather short-sighted creatures. They would throw judgement out willy-nilly as they hadn't the need to live with the consequences of their actions for quite as long. He was tactful enough to know not to say that out loud though.

Once the man got into an argument about what 'living' might account for, Travok rolled his eyes. The lass had said 'alive' and she was correct at that. They were quick to change subject again (hasty little buggers, not giving Travok time to form an opinion he could voice) and now the dragonborn was one to speak. A start of gloom and doom later, they went and gave her a piece of their mind regarding advancement and nature. Travok found himself agreeing with the big guy, trees were quite good material to build out of as well.

Suddenly, a clang resonated from the bars of the cell as a guard of said place wanted the people to shut it. Travok found himself slightly glad of the fact these guys had not given him a chance to speak, given how the smaller man reacted to the guard approaching like that. Even if he had picked his sitting place close to the door, he had not said anything to anger them...

Soon after the guard had come and gone, a few more appeared with men in tow, looking for something they called 'volunteers'. Yeah, right. Travok decided to take up on the offer though, if only to get to say his reply: "Well if it's anything to do with minin' an' stonework, I'll get there. You'll need someone who actually knows how to do this thing." As he spoke, he waved his right hand in the air, making sure to keep his focus hidden under his beard.
Yah, it's a good start. I'm just waiting to see whether my little smuggling attempt got any success before typing out my intro.
@darkandstarYah, I'd like to smuggle in my focus gemstone. Attempts will be made: http://www.roleplayerguild.com/rolls/204
Expect to receive the list of confiscated equipment soon via PM.
Your stats are off. I said 4d6 drop the lowest, which means the highest score you could have is an 18. You can use another method if you prefer, but i'm keeping the cap at 18. Other than that, you're fine.

They are a Wood Elf and thus get a racial bonus into Dex, the magnitude being +2. With 4d6, drop min it ends up having a maximum of 3*6+2=20. The character is legal.
@The Harbinger of Ferocity@VKAllenOn the DM Royale site, when you go to the tab regarding your character's Backstory, there should be this thing that says Party with links under it. You'll get to see what other people in the campaign have. Your characters will pop on that list once you have registered the campaign code on the settings tab.
True, true. We are not in possession of our gear now though, so I've been avoiding writing it into my character sheet and especially would avoid adding it to my AC.

Also, we have the example why I strongly dislike rolling stats. 20, the absolute cap, in dexterity at level one. And an 18 in Wisdom for casting too. What more is there to achieve? Nothing personal against @VKAllen of course, I simply find the system flawed.
@VKAllen While I am not the DM, I'd like to point out that we have pretty much no equipment at the start thanks to being jailed and all that jazz. My character has 9 AC thanks to that... Well, not like it'd be that much better with Warlock's leather armour anyway :P

Hope we find some good stuff on the way out!

EDIT: Huh, DMroyale seems to have failed to sanitize their inputs on items, given how I cannot write "Eye of C'Thun" as it cuts on the ' mark... Perhaps spell ranges are expecting integers and fail because I try to add feet into the end? Man, I've got to contact the administration of the site about this...
Ah, new blood! Travok will be pleased to have some company. I, too, had my worries, good to see they didn't come true.
