And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

@Lucius Cypher I understand the feeling, but that would close VitaVitaAR outside the group given how the big guy that was calling all of them around him to fight dragons would just address the others, ignoring them.
Ah, I see. And indeed, progress is important and that is why we are thinking about how to do it. As far as I've counted, the milestones rule does seem to follow the traditional curve quite well, which would mean that there should be no situation of being underleveled and I'm quite sure the module has been balanced around those milestones anyway. This would mean that as most seem to like the idea, I can adopt it into this campaign. Less work for us to keep tabs on the amount of experience anyway, right?

Now we are just waiting for @VitaVitaAR to introduce their character on the game tab and I we can move the group to where the action is.
@Ryonara I'm sorry but I do not quite follow. Are you saying that after five levels of experience, the same band of Orcs should still be a challenge equal to what they were on the first level?
Well, all I can say about the milestone rule is that the adventure has pre-set points for level ups. I have not got quite far enough with any group to know how well they work to be honest though, but I believe they are balanced well. And as people have been mostly leaning towards the milestone rule, I'm adopting that one for use.

We are only missing two intro posts and I have been in contact with the players and according to what they've told we should have them up soon.
@Ryonara Looks good to me. You must not have missed the information about DM Royale and other such things regarding the characters being added to the party, so go ahead. If you are quick and lucky, you might even find them at the ring of wagons instead of having to wait for a good spot to hop in.
@Ryonara Invited? By whom? Well, it does not really matter does it? Yes, we are one brave adventurer down so we could use a single new member. What would you be adding to the mix? Note that this does not affect the acceptance in any way, I'm just asking.
Hey people, I just remembered something I needed to ask!

So, we can either do this the traditional D&D way of getting experience from encounters and such, or we can go with the milestone rule in which you will go up a level once you have reached important story milestones. I can go with either and to be honest I like the traditional way, even if it sometimes devolves into murderhoboism. I trust you people not to do that though.

Then I could mention my current plan on level ups. Once the needed amount of experience is reached, you will gain everything your new level brings during your next short or long rest. So you'll have any new spell slots available, your spellbooks spontaneously have spells appear and your current and maximum hitpoints go up by whatever amount your hit die average is. I believe nobody has objections?
@VitaVitaAR Yes, Lucius has an idea. You may PM me and we can throw ideas at each other if you are just unsure of what is good, but there is probably nothing to worry about. If it seems to make any sense at all, it probably is a fine entry.
It's a slow start, but I like what I've seen thus far. By the way, should we look for one more member that I can add in at a fitting point (one is coming soon-ish) or are we happy with four? I'm happy with four, but if you guys would like a dedicated magic user without multiclassing...
I have started the game from the caravan's point of view. Your characters may be a part of it or not, but I'd recommend approaching the ring of wagons to start with to not split the party before we even get this thing off the ground.
