Now we have a Daredevil now just to get Hulk some legal council

Nice to see some more street level heroes appearing. My replacement for Nova when I have Future Imperfect running is going to be more street level.

I'm weird. I prefer to play either street level characters, or Superman-level power sets. Nothing in-between haha

Since the previous player's Daredevil had not interacted with any of the other characters, changing the character's history should not be much of an issue. You can revamp the history to your liking if you want. However, if you still want the previous IC posts to remain canon, that's fine with me.

Okay great, I wasn't sure. Will make some edits and have my sample up later today
So I know this character was used previously. But as the player in question only posted a few times, I was hoping it was okay that I switched some stuff up with the original origin. I kept some of it and rearranged a bit. Everything I have here fits with what's already been posted in the IC thread.

Player Name: HenryJonesJr

Character You Wish To Play: Matthew Murdock/The Devil of Hell's Kitchen/Daredevil/The Man Without Fear

Moral Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Hero

Affiliation (what group/team/organization, if any, is your character affiliated with?): None

Character Origin & Backstory:

Allies
-Franklin "Foggy" Nelson: Matt's oldest friend and business partner.
-Karen Page: Matt's girlfriend
-Stick: Matt's maternal grandfather and martial arts instructor

Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?):
-Radar sense: The accident that blinded Matt also enhanced his other sense, compensating for his disability. His hearing is now so attuned, he has a form of echolocation, allowing him to get a sense of his surroundings. His superior hearing also functions as a lie detector, as with concentration Matt can listen to changes in a person's heart rate. His smell is also finely attuned, allowing him to smell people from down the hall.

-Martial arts: Matthew has been trained by his grandfather in the ways of the ninja , turning him into a shadow warrior. Matt is now proficient in hand-to-hand combat.

-Acrobatics: Matt's training also made him a skilled acrobat and free runner.

-Intelligence: Matthew has an incredibly adept mind. He graduated at the top of his legal class, and is an accomplished in criminology.

Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character.

-Through the Grapevine: With Daredevil now knowing the bottom floor of Kingpin's empire, he begins his war in earnest. Matt is also granted his first big case at the firm.

-Run Through the Jungle: With Kingpin feeling the pressure of the rise of the Daredevil, he puts a hit out on the vigilante.

-Bad Moon Rising: Daredevil makes his final push against Kingpin while another enemy strikes from the shadows.

Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue):

Every raindrop was like the beat of a drum to him, and his ears rang with a cacophony of sound. It was something that had terrified him as a child, leading him to stuff his head between pillows on rainy nights. That was before his grandfather arrived, however. That was before Stick taught him to hone his senses. With a deep breath, Matt Murdock centered himself. Instead of the rain, he heard the echoes as it bounced off his surroundings. The chaos melted away as he gained a clear "view" of his surroundings. He could virtually see every cracked seam of tar on the roof and the splashes of water as they fell.

It wasn't seeing. Not really. Nothing would ever bring his sight back. That was something the doctors made sure he knew all those years ago. But this was the next best thing. Like a bat, Matt knew where he was going. He knew where to make his next step. He knew how to judge a leap. Most importantly, he knew where to throw a punch or where to land a kick. He had been doing quite a bit a both over the last few months thanks to these extracurricular activities. Sure, he was sore in court the next day more often than not, but the Kingpin's men were behind bars.

That was the most important thing.

"What the hell are you waiting for, freak!?" the man who was currently hogtied on the rainy roof spat at the vigilante. "I ain't telling you a thing!"

Daredevil snarled at the man who had been peddling drugs to high school buyers. Matt had gotten his name from one of the kids who was selling the product for him. Murdock did hurt the kid, of course. They were easy to scare. This lowlife was a different story. He thought he was a street hero, someone who was too hard to break at the sight of the Devil. Matt was fine with that.

There were other ways to make street trash talk.

"Oh, you'll talk," Matt spun his billy club in his hand. "Or you won't be able to by the time I'm done."

I think it is more about people focusing on the indie/manga/imprint/etc characters over the DC & Marvel mainstays that does it. Your first run on RPG with Singular Universe (which was the inspiration thematically for Maximum Comics) was really consistent, active, and it didn't remove non-DC/MV characters from the game. This is why I'll probably revise my rules and indicate that having an ACTIVE marvel/DC hero will be required to have a non-mainstay character.

Honestly, we never really had much of a successful run with a Singular U. We had a crazy long run of "One Universe" that was Marvel/DC only
Sound off!

I'm here.

I'll bring up an issue that I think help sinks this, and I think it's the inclusion of stuff from outside Marvel/DC. I know I was playing such a character in the game, but I think it makes it a bit too unfocused. I think paring it down to the big two would help.
<Snipped quote by HenryJonesJr>

Yes, please PM me the ideas, especially since I am the Spider-Man player in this RP. :)

Yup. Just reading through your stuff now to make sure it fits on a base level.
<Snipped quote by HenryJonesJr>

Yes, we are still accepting. What is your pet idea?

Venom, with a twist. Will PM you with the details, as there are some things I'd rather not broadcast, to see if it flies. Could be fun.
Okay cool. I need to read through the IC and see where I fit in. Have one pet idea I'd love to do but need to see if it can fit.

If not, I have a backup
You guys still accepting?
Also, I'm not going to stop posting. I have too much half written to do so. So anyone else is welcome to continue alongside me.
