Just ran a stale yellow. Nobody on this website is doing it like me, sticking it to the man like me, blazing a trail against tyranny like me. the only thing revolutionary about you is your rhetoric

Takeru Segawa is the type of man they made myths out of. Intensely privileged to be able to say I watched him burn so bright as he did before going out with a win. I’ll miss you, hero.

No, he really isn't. Certain people've gotten that into their heads out of nowhere, to be honest. He's just talkative and joshes his teammate, who responds in more than equal measure.
Luke Schwarz -- Wow

The verbose young man looked up at the pair, spearheaded by the azure-haired young woman who had unfortunately decided to seat herself upon the stratum above them, rather than further away from the people that seemed to cause her such distress.

This girl had just mocked the person he'd shed blood against mercilessly... for tripping.

Insulted Emerald's mother at, essentially, the drop of a hat.

Fiordilatte was talkative and brazen, yes, but nothing worthy of as much heat as she'd just tossed his way. Perhaps she was angry over the battle's outcome?

Whatever the case may be, in Luke's expansive vocabulary, there was one word, and one word alone that summed this up. He said it with neither anger, nor mirth, nor even sadness. A simple statement, as if commenting on the color of the sky.

"Rude."

Turning back forward, he calmly opened his spiral, ending it there.

...

"Eh?"

A regular paragon of eloquence, to the point where even the sarcastic jokes about it were stale and long overdue for some cycling out, Luke's head tilted off the center line for a moment, further obscuring that rarely-visible left eye of his beneath his bangs.

He blinked once.

"Er, nice to meet you too, Napoli Fiordilatte." he continued, still somewhat taken aback by the brazen insults the Vignobleman slung the way of his own teammate. "I'm Luke Schwarz, from team..."

JCML...

How does that even--

"...Inimical. I guess you could call me the group's close-quarters guy. Everyone here's been pretty nice, so don't worry about them." He countered, glancing the way of the Mistralese Huntress.

"And while I appreciate the warning, Miss Mindaro doesn't seem too bad."

Luke Schwarz -- Good Thing I Have Two of These

"Uh..." Luke began eloquently, breaking the brief stunned silence that had followed the tiger faunus's tumultuous entrance and checking his right (digital, and easy to read) watch. About a minute and a half to go, actually.

"You're good, Shiro. Try taking it easy." he finished, flashing a quick thumbs up to the boy who, only minutes ago, he had just been in what had felt like mortal combat with. Hefting his bag onto the desk, Luke fished out a green spiral, freshly bought from a local convenience store a week prior and, until now, untainted and unmarred by graphite.
Name: John N. Viper

Gender: Male

Age: 36

Nation of birth: Drevmort

Appearance: A solidly built man, even as his athletic prime is beginning to leave him behind he still looks every bit as trained and powerful as he is. Tallish, but not overly so, he's lightly brushed with old scars--equally probable to be kitchen accidents or old war stories waiting to be told. Rugged in face, build, clothing, and overall complexion, his short beard and neck-length hair (both brown) are kept out of the way by a plain green headband when cooking or otherwise necessary. Wears drab clothing, carries a serious expression most of the time.

Personality: Very world-weary, and seems to carry years of life experience perhaps even beyond his age. Not very nonsensical, but not entirely without a sense of humor. Will freely dispense both advice, and food, and has a bit of a fatherly streak. Admires things such as codes of honor and idealism, but cannot claim to hold them himself entirely. Nonetheless, he has a sense of right and wrong and will follow it through hell or high water, with both words, fists, and steel. The latter two of which, at least, are definitely trained.

Valuable possessions: A set of knives, kitchen standard. A cooking pot, well-maintained and always clean. A set of eating utensils, bowls, and some key spices. A ladle, a reference cookbook, washrags, and a pack to keep everything in.

Finally, a small bronze band around the fourth finger of his left hand, obviously holding deep sentimental value despite its plain metallurgy, only having a constant polish, a perfect fit, and a simple etched groove running along the center.

Short History of Character: A former soldier of unspecified rank, the toils of war weighed heavily upon John's soul as they would have any young man, fresh off conscription and just having had a son. After serving long, dutiful years and doing both right and wrong in the name of his orders, one fateful night where he ended up back in his hometown brought it all to a screeching halt.

He finished his time in the army solemnly, and retired to a peaceful life, taking up cooking as work to make what little ends he needed meet. But every so often, the Call tugs upon the strings of the heart...
