Hexaflexagon (Concept)
In geometry, flexagons are flat models, usually constructed by folding strips of paper, that can be flexed or folded in certain ways to reveal faces besides the two that were originally on the back and front.

Academic who somehow got conned into working for the Government. Been role-playing both on forums and TTRPGs for close to twenty years at this point. I'm like 99% retired from active RPing on the Guild, but I still like to poke my head onto here once in a while to make sure that I didn't leave the lights on.

Just a clarification, are we writing about Vronskr? Or Vornskr?

Judging from Sep's description I believe we are talking about Vornskr, the large canine hunting dogs. Since in his description he says that they hunt force sensitive beings.

And sorry about the long post, work has been getting busy lately and I needed to think of a way to separate mine and Jake's character so that he was not stuck waiting for me, to post.
Master Sorni and her new traveling companion moved through the tunnels beneath the temple, ever so often a large tremor would shake the walls around them as an explosion from something somewhere occurred within the temple. They were fortunate in that they had not run into any patrols scouring the tunnels yet. Though they did hear them, the orders being called out in the distance, the occasional blaster bolt cutting through the silence like a hot knife through butter, the occasional scream cut short. But the Jedi Master pushed on, not daring to look behind them. She just continued to follow the tunnels downwards towards the cargo bay, hoping that their luck wouldn't run out. She turned her head and looked at the young Padawan; Erin. Master Sorni couldn't even begin fathom what must have been going on in her head, but she had to the girl credit where credit was due, she was holding herself together fairly well, that took courage. She would of made a great Jedi.... she would still make a great Jedi as long as they got out of there. It was then that she heard something coming down the tunnel, the sound of boots running in hot pursuit. The Jedi Master looked around before grabbing Erin by the shoulder and yanking her flat against the wall, putting a hand to her mouth urging her to be silent.

It was then that the young boy came into their sight sprinting down the hall panting. He looked to be barley fifteen years of age his brown padawan robes tattered and torn. Moments later a blaster bolt came rushing down the hall slamming into the boys back and sending him face first into the ground. He was still moving, crawling trying to inch his way forward and then another shot rang out hitting the boy again, and his body went limp against the ground. Master Sorni pulled herself off of the wall, letting out her held breath as she peered her head up the tunnel. A squad of clones stood peering down the hall, the light fixtures on their helmets cutting through the darkness as they peered about for more survivors. Though the Jedi Master was more concerned about the two beasts the clones were holding on leashes. Large canine heads, with strong jutting jaws, dark skin with rippling tensing muscles underneath, long whip-like tails. Vornskr..... And the beast had just sensed them letting off vicious growls and straining against their restraints. Their clone handlers leaned down to release them as Master Sorni turned towards Erin and gave her one simple order.

"Run!"

And that was what the two of them did, as they bolted down the tunnel, using the force to augment their speed. Blaster shots came screaming down the hall after them, the gnash and growl of the Vornskr as they chased after them. They barreled down dark tunnel after tunnel, soaring by corners and trying to get away. But they had no such luck as the squad kept hot on their trial. They had kept up this game of cat and mouse for around five minutes when the Jedi Master heard something behind them. Another large tremor shook the tunnel, this one more violent the last throwing Master Sorni and the Padawn to the ground. As she scrambled to her feet, her ears ringing, she saw Erin a few feet away. She got up to meet her and that was when the ceiling came crashing down between the two of them, blocking Erin's path backward and her path forward. Master Sorni coughed as dust was kicked up around her. She heard the clones and the Vornskr, they were getting closer and closer. The Jedi Master called out to the Padawan, who she could hear coughing on the other side of the rubble.

"Erin! I'm going to need you to keep on moving towards the Cargo Bay! I'm going to find another way around, and will meet you there!" Master Sorni did not wait for a response as she turned around and grabbed her lightsaber that somehow was still attached to her waist. She ignited it as she heard growls coming from behind her, the Vronskr had reached her first, The two beast approached her slowly, growling the sound deep and menacing coming from the back of their throats. One of them jumped at her, they were fast very fast. It's jaw was open and it aimed straight for her neck. She leaped to the left as she swung out with her lightsaber, slamming hard into the ground as she heard a yelp. She looked and a few feet away the Vornskr landed it's right front leg and shoulder cleaved straight away. It growled and still snapped its teeth for another minuet thrashing about before it stopped moving. But the Jedi Master had little time to savor her victory as she got to one knee, the other Vornskr lunged slamming straight into her and knocking her lightsaber out of her hand. She lay flat on her back, her two hands wrapped around the beasts hand as they struggled in a deadly game of tug of war as it tried to rip out her throat. The beast was stronger then her, and even if she could hold it back its large claws were tearing into her chest and stomach as they struggled. She was on the losing end of the fight, if they fought just physically, but she had something the Vornsker didn't. She concentrated as she pushed her arms upward as the two struggled, and a large whoosh was heard as the Force rushed against the beast straight in the head launching it upward as it slammed into the ceiling of the tunnel. The Jedi Master slowly pulled herself to her feet as she reached around the ground for her lightsaber, the Vornsker was not down yet, it was just winded as it slowly got it's feet. It lashed out with its barbed tail as a lightsaber came roaring across connecting with poisoned tip and severing it. Master Sorni stood their face bloody and covered in dust illuminated by the glow of her lightsaber. The Vornsker roared in challenge and in pain, the two stood Master Sorni in a defense stance as the beast lunged through the air....
The lightsaber connect with the torso of the Vornsker and cut cleanly through it, the two halves dropped to the ground as Master Sorni disengaged her light saber.

Panting, and clutching her torso, the claw marks stinging and roaring with pain she had little time to do much of anything as she heard the clone squad come closer. She was in no shape to get into any more battles, she could still move but even basic blaster defense would be a death sentence for her right now. She turned around facing the rubble as she looked for a way through and that was when she saw it to her left another maintenance door. The sounds of the clones were getting closer as she slammed her shoulder against the door once, it budged but not too far, and then a seconded time were it cracked open a bit, she could see the lights from their helmets in the distance, and she threw herself against it one more time and the door flew open as she stumbled into the room. She turned around and quickly slammed the door shut, lookng for something to barricade it, she saw an old supply cabinet on the wall. She raised her hand and concentrated on it before yanking her hand downward, and the cabinet tilted and fell over slamming down in front of the door barring the clones way for now. She heard their shouting and she tried to remain as quiet as possible, it seemed to have taken a year but they finally moved on back the way they came, their sounds retreating further and further into the distance. The Jedi Master fell to the ground laying on her back, as she caught her breath. She looked around the small room which appeared to have been a small office, or checkpoint of somewhere. On one of the walls across from here though was a steel container with a red symbol across it.... A medical kit. Master Sorni crawled across the floor, and reached up the wall pulling the kit down. She opened the contents, there was not a lot, but it was enough to get her moving again barely at least. As she began to prepare to do some field medicine she let out a sigh as she muttered to herself..

"Let us... never do that again.."

Wrex was another great character, but because I never transferred my saves over, he was dead...which sucked...

I never got a chance to really bond with Mordin...I may change that if I buy the trilogy on Origin.

Yeah that does suck........ Having to deal with Wreav instead of Wrex is like.... well sad and empty on the inside

Mordin whole character arc if you just talk to him is wonderful, because you realize in the end past all of his idiocentricities and weird exterior. He is just a dude that did some things that he had to do, even if they were'nt the right things morally and how that is eating him apart. It just feels real and alive.

Let me tell you though managing to save everyone in ME2 makes; ME3's Citadel DLC even though it is the oddest and craziest mass effect DLC out there. (And the most fun mind you) Oh so much better.
Oh come on you people all know it goes

1: Mordin - Because he made me cry with his damn singing in 3 and I'm not ashamed to say that.
2: Wrex - Everybody loves Wrex he is Wrex
3: Garrus- Garrus Brokarian has the best bromance in all of videogames
4: Grunt - I just love Grunt because well he is like an overgrown kid with a shotgun
5: Legion- Because he has a soul and that is about it.

And we will all watch with baited breath...

Creating a Drell was one of my first options, glad you filled that role Uriel :)

Everybody loves the Drell! Thane is tu-fira.

Especially since you know the magical ability to pull a Qui-Gon Jinn and become a magical "force ghost". XD Well only in the Citadel DLC... and only if you romanced him. But still force ghost! XD
Sors Kelden - Hunter

The two man stationed to guard the entrance to the castle, stood together on either side of the large portcullis. They had let the hunter in moments prior, and had gone back to standing idly waiting for someone else to come approach the gate. The two of them felt the tension in the air, hidden underneath the common routine of everyday life and scheduled fear was building in the populace, the slowly building current of fear that tomorrow could be the day that Adin fell and with it the last hope of Capernaum. But of course the guards and everyone else tried to think of something else anything else for thinking about one's impending doom was never a fun topic. A strong gust of wind came up from the valley below, up the cliff side and rattling the old flag the worn out seal of Capernaum tattered after years of abuse attached to the same flagstaff it had been attached to for seventy years. A crow cawed as it circled high above, most likely roosting in the old guard house, now home to the crows and smaller rodents, living in the broken rotten wood and discard hay. Of course the guards did not care about the crow, all the cared about was the bitter cold gust that the winds brought with them. It was crisp and bitter, these warning signs of winter appearing more and more frequently, as the day by day became progressively colder. The two guards clutched to their fur lined cloaks and starred on ahead at the road sloping downwards, waiting bitterly for their rounds to be over.

It was right around then that the two of them heard the clunk of the sound of somebody coming up the road to the castle slowly. A man cloaked in a patchwork cloak of grey, with a large staff of oak was slowly shambling upwards towards the castle. The two guards looked at one another quizzically, they experienced the occasional minstrel, doomsayer, pauper and leper in their day. All of them wanting to see the king, it was odd what kind of types just simply believed that they could have a royal audience. As the winter came, they would seem more of them, looking for shelter and food. This caused another unnecessary irritation to the guards, who would have to try and explain to those with broken minds and a sometimes less than perfect grasp on reality would sometimes be akin to trying to holding a conversation with a stone wall with social anxiety problems. So the two guards prepped for the worst as they watched the man shamble his way up the hill. His cloak seemed to engulf his entire form, given his form an ethereal resemblance to it, the patchwork greys blinding in with the northern sky. Judging from his gait he was no longer a youth, the spring in his step had long ago vanished, but the purpose with which he worked was not exemplified by many men of old age. As he drew closer the two guards drew at attention as they raised their large polearms as the shined with a glistening glimmer as the sun hit the metal. The man seemed unphased as he continued to approach them, the guards looked at each other and nodded slowly as one of them called out to the man in grey.

“Halt Stranger and identify yourself!” The lead guard called his voice ringing with authority, the two guards looking quite imposing dressed in full ceremonial armor, the King’s the colors shining brightly. The King’s Guard were the best soldiers that Capernaum’s military had to offer, taken from the officers academy at a young age and personnel trained by the Royal Battlemaster himself. They were the King, his family and any dignitary or ambassador that came to Capernaum escort and official protection. Sometimes referred to as the Old Guard, or the Stubborn Bastards (not to their face of course). The guard called out again to the figure who seemed to not have heard them the first time and it was then that he stopped where he was and did something odd. He let out a long burst of laughter: the laughter was not of insanity, nor of malice but something different it had an airy and warm quality to it, it told the story of warm summer evenings, it danced with the farmers daughter under the moonlight and had the scent of dark mead on a cold winters evening, it was many things but at the same instance none of them ephemeral and fading. It was then that the man slowly raised his hand, the two guards raised their spears in a defense position waiting for the man to pull a weapon to do something. But his hand grasped the hood and pulled it down revealing a smiling face showing signs of age, his eyes seeming to smile themselves, a unkempt mane of grey hair.

The two guards look at one another in surprise, who they thought to be some crazy pauper lost in his mind was none other than Sors Kelden. Oh the stories one would hear of “The Grey Executioner”, The hero of Capernaum, the fabled slayer of abominations, The great warrior from the North, and one of the original hunters of the Shade. Wherever he seemed to go adventures seemed to follow close behind like an eagerly awaiting hound. If one heard half the stories thy told of Sors, one would believe he had saved the kingdom twice over and was an immortal hero of colossal stature. But of course most of these tales were over exaggerations of the truth and he was just a man, and in most cases a very lucky one at that. Sors looked at the two guards and smiled as he spoke.

“It would seem that I forgot my invitation lads. Do you think that you could help a poor old man out of the harsh elements? Sors asked the two guards.

“Mr. Kelden! Sir… if we knew you were coming we would of gotten you an escort!” The guard exclaimed.

“Oh relax lads, my best years might be behind me, but I’ll be damned if I can’t walk up a mountain by myself. Though I will say that I do remember the ascent taking much less time when I was a younger man. ” Sors explained as he approached them, the two of them parted as he approached them. The large gate rose into the air as he stepped through into the castle courtyard. He wandered lackadaisically to the large doors of the castle were a servant was waiting for him. He nodded at the boy as he lead him inside to the large foyer, that served as the barrier between the cold outside world and cream colored place within . In front of him greeting him was a large portrait of the great king in his youth. He was always a giant of a man but he used to be more muscle than his current composer. The stress, that the Shade’s terror had been wrecking across the countryside he but the toll on Capernaum’s leader. Sors remembered just twenties years ago, the man would wrestle bears without arms or armor, just for the fun of it and it you be unwise to place a beat on the bear. But now it is heard that he never leaves his chambers or the castle itself, locking himself indoors. Sors shook his head sadly as the servant waited patiently for Sors to turn away from the portrait and follow him to the great hall. Of course Sors had been through the castle enough times to know how to get around, but their was something in the codes of formality, that it just feel wrong not to follow.

When they arrived at the great hall, Sors looked around at the small gathering of people. The letter Zakariah had sent him, told him rather simply to come to the Castle. That the king required aid against the Shade, and that they were gathering a group of hunters to combat the beast. Sors would have very much liked to stay in his cabin, away from all this chaos and finery. Zakariah knew that he had retired and that he was no longer the one to go racing across the countryside chasing monsters and apparitions in the mist. But something inside the old hunter pushed him to go, if they sent a group of youngins against the shade, they were sending the lamb off to slaughter. No matter how much combat experience they had, they did not know the horrors that former shell of a man could deal. So he set off towards the castle, for no other reason than to prevent the pointless waste of human life that could occur.

He entered the hall, his eyes casually observing the other hunters gathering around the tables to eat. He was more less twice the age of most of the men and women their, most of them no older than boys and girls just escaping out into the world, to go on a grand adventure. He moved by taking a goblet from the table and moving towards the roaring fireplace at one of end of the hall. He stood next to it warming his body feeling the tension relax from his again limbs as his eyes met Zakariah’s, he give the king’s aide a small nod and then just stood there observing, watching. They seemed to mixed group of adventures, he even saw the eleven women as he walked in.

“Jermolt must of called for aid from all four corners, the stubborn old man finally realized that his own small army and a smattering of hunters was not enough to beat back that damn creature.” Sors mumbled to himself as he took a long drag from the goblet.

Master Sorni, nodded as she listened to Jedi knight. The cargo bays, made sense after all they would expect them to try and exit through the hangers but not through bays usually reserved for surplus supplies and garbage. But the problem of the knocked out padawan was something she had to address, for heading through the killing fields of the temple as they were with here would not end well for anyone. But then something dawned upon her the service corridors used by the maintenance staff. They provided a straight shot down, without having to run into much resistance from the fire teams. She just had to find one of the entrances. It was at about that time that the clones began to close in on them. As Vor’loch agreed to hold them off, she bowed her head in thanks as she picked up the girl and turned to face the other direction. The two of them had fought in enough battles during the previous three years, to know that no other words were needed, they knew their destination and the plan, any other talk would just delay them. But they knew that they would might each other again soon enough.

The Jedi Master ran back towards the collapsed bridge, where Vor’loch had found the girl. The gap was too large even with force powers to get across. She couldn't turn back at that point, she could still hear the sounds of blaster fire coming from down the hall, going the other way would just get her and the girl killed. So she went the only way, she could she wrapped her arms tighter around the girl pulling her as close to her chest as possible, before jumping down the hole. She braced herself as she landed on her feet, the lower floors were more or less empty as the clones had moved deeper into the temple to finish the extermination but they had left sentires about. One of which Master Sorni ended up landing right in front of, the two figures stood looking at one another for a lone moment of silence. But Master Sorni took the initiative throwing her shoulder into his right arm, forcing his rifle to go off balance as he fired the bolt know only burning the skin around her elbow as if grazed her rather than killing her outright. The clone got up to recover and fire again but he didn't have the chance as he heard the signature pophiss of a lightsaber being ignited and then moments later a sharp pain in his lower abdomen. The clones eyes fell on the jedi as he fell, she had her lightsaber propped underneath the padawan as she held her in both arms, the saber singeing the padawans robe but doing no more. The clone let out an indiscernible grugle as he fell to the ground.

The Jedi Master looked around, seeing if the other sentries had heard her; but so far she seemed fortunate. She looked along the walls, up and down the right and left side for a long moment searching for something. Then she found it a small hatch built into the wall, that had locked down automatically when the temple had been invaded, preventing an invader for sneaking around the defense and getting the drop on the Jedi and Temple Guards. But the reinforced door would not stop her for long. She laid the girl against the wall and ignited her lightsaber once again jamming it into the door, using the force to alter the damage down by the lightsaber itself as it began to sink through the door. That was when she heard the footsteps and the shouting she cursed under her breath, of course she wouldn't be that lucky. She would disengage from the door and fight the clones, but she wouldn't be able to protect the girl and she was her top priority at the moment. As she was reaching the end of the cut through the door, she could see them now and when the panel came way, they began to open fire open them. Master Sorni turned deflecting the most immediate bolts away. She looked in front of her and saw a piece of the bridge resting on the floor. She came up with a plan quickly as she reached towards the piece and put all her energy into it, and the piece lifted up off the ground only by an inch, for an inch was all she needed. Laser bolts continued to fly around her, some getting too close for comfort but beside grazing her none did serious damage, but her training keep her in focus and a moment later she propelled the large horizontal piece of bridge at the squad forcing them to dive away or be knocked down. In the momentary confusion, she picked up the girl throwing her good shoulder and slipped into the shaft. The girl and her tumbling through the maintenance shaft as it rushed downwards, falling into the darkness…

By the time Master Sorni had reached the bottom, of the long descent downward, she was breathing heavily. Her injuries were slowing, her down and she didn't know how much more she could take. The path diverge in two directions from their point, one deeper into the darkness and towards the lower cargo bays and one slanting back upwards. Her back was pressed against the wall, the girl lying in front of her as she attempted to address some of her own wounds at the current moment. Ripping pieces from her robe and using them as makeshift bandages to at least stave off the bleeding momentarily. She looked down at the girl and muttered to herself with a sigh.

“You know, young one if you were awake. You and I would be in a much better situation than we are now.”

As Master Sorni finished speaking, there was finally a sign of life from the young Padawan as the girl picked herself up off the ground with her arms. She then used one to grip the back of her head, a little blood rubbing off on her hand. It didn't look like a lot though, and Erin wasn't exactly freaking out at the pain. "Agh, my head..." Looking around, she quickly realised this wasn't where she fell unconscious. How much time had passed, and where was she now? Her tired eyes met with Master Sorni's, then scanned along her robes to see those various battle scars she'd earned recently. Yet here was Erin without a scratch, save for that smack on the head earlier. No, she couldn't have... Not with all those Clones swarming the temple! That's absolutely insane... But if she is a Jedi Master, that would explain why we didn't bite it yet.

"Master? ...Did.. you save me?" Erin asked, looking quite guilty and moving closer to inspect the wounds. Then her mind raced. There were currently just two of them, it was hard not to assume the worst had happened and that they were alone. "Wait.. The Temple? What's the situation now? Has anyone else escaped? What about the younglings?"

The Jedi Master looked at the young Padawan, as she came to and began asking a series of questions. She marveled at the young ones ability as they all seemed to be able to be filled with energy after being almost blown up, shot, tortured etc. As she asked about the Temple and everyone within, the Jedi looked away for a moment, before turning back with a sigh as she finished tying her makeshift bandage. “Calm down young one, you must control the fear and anger within in you.” Master Sorni explained gently as she got to her feet slowly.

“The Temple as you know is under siege by the clones for reasons that even I do not know. We can no longer hold out against them and many people; Jedi or not are dying. We are currently in the Maintenance Corridors running through the temple. We are heading for the cargo bays in the lower level to meet up with Jedi Knight Vor’loch and any other survivors he can find. So I would not say that you are saved just yet.” Master Sorni explained as she began to head down the sloping corridor towards the cargo bay. She walked for a few moments more before turning her head over her shoulder and giving the Padawan a small smile.

“If you want to just sit there and wait for the clones to come find you; I will not stop you. But if you wish to live to not let all those that died and are dying to protect the temple to allow the likes of us to escape. Then it would be best to follow me.” She said as she began to head out again, not bothering to look behind her again to see if the girl is coming.

“Coming!” Erin chimed in almost instantly, taking both her lightsabers off their belt clips and following obediently behind the Master. After being told to calm and control herself, the girl looked much more at ease, but kept a fairly serious demeanor. There was no way she was going to get out of here alone, and she doubted that the Jedi Master would either, even if she had pulled them both through so far with just one arm. Erin didn’t believe in strength in numbers after playing her part in the war, but she agreed that nobody should fight alone. “...Master?” She asked as they began to move, “My name is Erin Corona, I was Padawan to Master Sabalya until.. this happened. Could I please learn your name?”

Master Sorni, tried her best to hide the smile on her face as she turned to the girl as they continued to move down the corridor. “My name is Valka Sorni and I’ve worked with Master Sabalya before… he had only good things to say about you. So let me be the first to say that it is a pleasure to have you awake again..” And with nothing else said they progressed deeper and deeper as the temple around them shook as the LAATs continued to bombard the temple from above.
