Hot dogs are already cooked. Might as well just sear them to add flavor.

If you take college seriously, it opens doors. Harvard and Hopkins makes it easier, but you can do well anywhere.

Prefer to brainstorm on Discord for that reason.

I am starting to think that the politicians we get are our punishment for failing to be more attentive to the small things in the system; who we elect to a state legislature eventually runs for office nationally. (And they get away woth a lot, particularly in contracting and real estate development.) We should be paying attention to the local stuff.

Once every four years isn't sufficient engagement in the system. Where are all these people in all the other elections? Fuck them. Then when someone is elected, we expect everything to be fixed overnight. Perfectly.

I am also massively tired of Bernie bros lecturing everyone about the problems. I voted Bernie in the primary and I'm saying that. Just because this is Caleb and Colby's first year, like yah, in Oberlin and they've just discovered politics doesn't mean that it's everyone else's first time.

I'm sure everyone on the Guild is pretty familiar with the dude that thinks they're some kind of freakin' enlightened genius because they're the smartest person at their dinner table, right? (because they come to the Guild) These guys are like that.

I could go on, but yeah, pretty done with this shit show. Probably early voting today. Then I can tune out early.
Well, might make sense to have a number of veterans that survived Cochise in one place, just saying, since that's how the pack got started.
I believe in the Hunter S. Thompson school of tackling touchy subjects. So are they trying to get you to drop the topic entirely or are they trying to give you a better idea of what the condition is like? If the former, fugouttahere. If the latter, I'd say, "Cool, I can always use the perspective!"

I think if you're going to go after a topic, research it sure, but also there are people who will try to quash anything. I think so long as you make a good faith effort to do a portrayal that isn't some sort of disgusting stereotype, I think you should try to distinguish the source of the criticism and wave off the type that is critical without offering solution.
I'll be getting a character up asap. Should be within the next 24-36 hours. Just had alot of work over the last few days.

Cool beans, and I can totally relate.

For the record, we'll probably start the characters out in Southern Cali, or at least that'll be their base of operations. But since they're a biker gang and are probably not the most together, it's safe to say that their means of income is not necessarily consistent nor are they out there doing work every day. Then again, mob guys aren't like that either.
Incidentally, I had a random idea for a starting point in the RP. Mardi Gras, 1969. Any thoughts on that? Of course, it's just two characters for the moment, but...

Either that or we invent some sort of off the wall biker festival.
I rewrote the history to state Rusty bit Vic to become a werewolf in order to survive the siege of Firebase Cochise.

Sounds good. We can work with that.
yea, it makes more sense for your character to be the Alpha. You are the one driving the train. I will rewrite my character's history a bit so that he doesn't become infected with the werewolf bug until February 1968 rather than November 1965.

Works out. Or I can move it back to Rusty being there in 1965.
I'll circle back around when I do book shopping today, but the last one I read was "The Beast Side" by D. Watkins.

Some people might say that the book reads like fiction. Except I work in the same part of Baltimore he writes about and yeah, I see it. In fact, I feel like the book was highly educational for me. I'm passing it around my office. We might work down in Greenmount, but we don't know the whole story. We can't. And as Watkins pointed out (in person, at an event) you have to keep reading if you want to be able to better picture things you don't understand.
Shit... after reading that entire debate derpbate I realize coming here to talk about door to door salesman being annoying pales in comparison now.

You're fucked, J. But I corrected your spelling, because I'm a tedious pedant like that. :)

[insert bitching here about spelling]
<Snipped quote by HeySeuss>No problem. You know, I don't care if I am the alpha. I can write it either way. Would you like me to change Victor's history? Or maybe your character could have been at Ia Drag with Vic in 1965?

I actually wrote it in that Vic caught Rusty going werewolf in Firebase Cochise. That could explain why he decided to give the offer to the other members of the unit as a potential way to survive.
