Bio

I live somewhere in the wilds of East London with a couple of friends, a pet rat and a collection of RPG books that is slowly consuming our house. I've suggested possibly getting rid of some of them, but it's pretty much got to the point where the books are the only thing keeping the building upright and if I move any of them the whole thing could come crashing down.

In terms of games - well, I'll consider anything, except that. As can probably be gathered from my posts, I find myself generally playing characters that let me bit a little bit light-hearted. I am reasonably certain that I can play serious characters, but I know that getting to post things which makes me chuckle as I write them keeps me far more engaged. I like fandom-y things (because I can't, apparently, still get enough Undertale, Adventure Time and various Nintendo stuff, good job brain), and non-fandom-y things, and will one day get around to rebooting a RP I'd made on here seven years ago.

It was difficult for Two-One to look disheartened, but as Alexander explained the situation, the Myr slowly shrank back, folding his arms up a little closer to his chest with each new piece of information. By the time that Victoria replaced Alexander behind the bar, Two-One had mostly retreated all the way back into his robe, save for the tip of his beak-like head that poked out from underneath the tattered cloth.

Then Lanestol began talking, and while it did very little whatsoever to assuage the fears that Two-one harboured (rats are small things, easily chased away and fuzzy, rat men sounded far more dangerous), the promise of help was well-received. The array of lights on his head glowed a little more brightly.

"It would be help-helpful," Two-one began, his voice stumbling over the words slightly, "to go with somebody who knows about these rats and to see what ratman insides look like and to ha-have company. Normally I make company as I go. Talking is important, so you can have disagreements."

Two-One didn't radiate confidence, but in what passes for a heart, Two-One knew that he was a hero. And the most important part of being a hero was to be brave, and that involved overcoming fears. Therefore, to be a hero, one must have fears to overcome.

"It is good to go home too. Supplies! We need supplies," the beak turned slightly to point up towards Rachel, "and disguises and the other things th-that heroes use. Can I get food for Lanestol to take with us here? Such as more of the bread and more of the butter to go in the bread?"

Sorry, I've been a bit busy over this week and have been rather stuck treading water when it comes to things. I'll get a post up today, but I was slightly hesitant to leave the tavern before @TaliPaendrag's planeswalker arrived. Anyway, I shall start working on my post, and hopefully spur folks into a bit more activity!
Couple quick questions: how big is she? Cause like the house isn't that big and it may suck if she's like living outside with her head poked through a window or something. And can she speak to others?

Probably not that large, I was thinking more along the lines of "twelve feet long" rather than "massive fire-breathing terror of the skies"; partly so she can fit in the house and partly to explain why the existence of the supernatural is something of a secret until relatively recently. A great big dragon is a lot harder to keep the existence of under wraps.

As for talking - yes. I think I mentioned in the personality bit that she'd much prefer trying to talk through problems, rather than resorting to the "proper" dragon-y problem solving technique of trying to set whatever it was that was bothering them on fire.

I wouldn't be against trying another one if a fan told me that 14 was easily the worst of the worst for that franchise, but the people playing that game said otherwise so...

I reckon that, for any given Final Fantasy game, there are going to be people telling you that it's the Best Final Fantasy Ever and an equally large group of people telling you that it's the Worst Final Fantasy Yet.

I am going to be rather slow today on posts. Had a bit of a sponge cake calamity this morning. Note to self: insert fictional hyper-kinetic cartoon into the game, call it Morning Bakery: Sponge Cake Calamity!.
Sorry but I won't be able to be a permanent member of your show @DepressedSoviet. Just a guest every now and then. The Quest for Flavour takes up all my time on here so I can only dabble in anything on the side.

Now I feel guilty and a little bit flattered.
My favourite characters are Vivi & Freya.

Good choices! Vivi's character and story is really lovely in particular. I think 9 has remained my favourite of the series for so long because it feels really quite fantastical. After slogging through FF8, which wasn't so bad really, it was nice to go back to something more "traditional" in terms of fantasy. Plus, airships. Plus, Quina. Plus, the soundtrack. Oh god, I need to go and play it again now.
...could I register my interest? I can? Okay!

I'm interested.
@TheMadAsshatter - if I ever need to go on a drug-fuelled road trip a post-apocalyptic wasteland, I'd probably listen to this. The way it sort of swings back and forth between the sort of trippy, dream-like sing-song vocals and the more heart-racing thunk-thunk-thunk style makes it an interesting thing to listen to. Writing about music is hard.

I'd rate it as two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls / 10.

Here, have some Tom Waits.
