Desktop profile login won't work. Coincidence that Windows 7 is no longer supported on same day? Consider me doubtful.

I'm having way too much fun with my Legend of Zelda Encylopedia. This is the game that got me into roleplaying so have a lot invested in it's lore and stories. Too bad can't have all the games too.

Hmm Emu seems to have vanished, guess that means there are actually no people on the empire's side at the moment.
A long time ago I remember thinking about magical girl stuff, especially Pretty Cure with their various themes, and came up with a stupid idea. Well you know how they have all these nice names like Cure Lovely, Cure Blossom, Cure Black (well that one is a bit neutral), etc. I was like, what if instead they had like really bad names based on character flaws with a special ability based on that name.

For example: (I decided to use French just because)

Fille Plain - the ability to normalize everything. So Super Ultra Punch gets downgraded to Normal Punch.
Fille Envy - the ability to make enemies envious of each other and cause internal strife.
ETC

Basically a spoof on the traditional magical girl formula for comedic effect and a way to make the flaw an integral part of the character and story.

Mostly just wanted to throw that out there for the lols, but with some tweaking could be fashioned into something.
Bumping this thread to hopefully achieve interest in anyone wanting to join the role play. At the moment several players have dropped out so I could use more players to fill the ranks of the White Rock Confederacy and Onyx Empire, especially the empire at the moment.

Currently:

2 Active In White Rock Confederacy
0 Active In Onyx Empire
Hmm well I've pmed Vash to see what's going on but we'll see. If it ends up our last Onyxian is out, what do you guys want to do? We could continue but it won't be quite as much fun since only one side will be represented.
This happened to me a long time ago but I remember this one experience I had with a roleplay. I think it was when I using gaia forums to roleplay, anyway I decided to join this roleplay. The roleplay had two sides to it, I decided to go with the 'bad' side in the roleplay cause I like to try to even things out.

So I put all this effort into my character, creating their powers to make them a viable threat, etc. Then later on there was this weird discussion about certain character powers and basically these two people were bragging about how OP their characters were. I got into the discussion and they basically denounced my character and how their powers would easily beat mine and how they were much better at writing then I was. I had never seen two such elitist fruitcakes in my entire roleplaying career.

Alright so maybe I was more the high-casual level rather than advanced but they essentially attacked me, my character, and my writing for no good reason. Never did get to the point where that particular character would fight with theirs, but that was probably for the best as they probably would have power-played the crap out of that fight.

I'm pretty sure neither of them were the maker either...it was just sad.
@Hammerman

Can't say I'm a big fan of that idea myself. The plot seems to basically be that this girl died, hated the real world, overthrew the ruler of 'dreamland' and wants these dream seeds to essentially unify the dreamworld with the real world in order to take her revenge. If you want to avoid a darker role play such a setting for the villain is a bit on the darker side. Also just the setting of essentially after-lifers trying to mess up the real world is not really a great theme in my book. A lot of magical girl type shows usually have some aspect of chaos or some force that wants to take away good things, or even just plain greedy, as the evil force. Your plot more aligns with the recent flood of magical girl vs magical girl type shows that seem to have been popping up since the main villain is a girl who died without love which messed up her personality to hate the real world and then got powerful.

@Sorrelmyst

Tokyo Mew-Mew was decent though...I thought the twists at the end were kind of stupid though but overall it was a lighthearted type show. As for the Precure, well that really depends on which precure you look at. Some seasons are really great while some leave quite a bit to be desired though in general they have a very light hearted mood throughout the series. Precure really likes to use a unifying theme for each of their iterations of the series which is reflected in the cure names and the villains which is kind of neat in its own way.

Tokyo Mew-Mew = Endangered Species/Eco issues.

Pretty Cure/Pretty Cure Max Heart = Opposites like Darkness and Light and how if you can work together and compromise, things can work out.

Pretty Cure Splash Star = I didn't watch much of this one but its nature based.

Yes! Precure 5! = Dreams vs Nightmares. How to bring one's dreams into reality.

Yes! Precure 5! GoGo! = This one was a bit strange as the main villain was essentially an insane collector who wanted to collect everything, especially a certain woman.

Fresh Pretty Cure = Dancing, strangely enough and I think many consider this one of the weaker seasons.

HeartCatch Precure = All about the flowers of the heart and how it needs to be nurtured in order to foster ones talents and passions. Had a very interesting mechanic where the villains would use a person's 'flower' to create creatures that were embodiments of their deepest fears toward achieving their goals. A lot of people had to get used to the artstyle but many consider this one as one of their best seasons.

Suite Precure = Music and how it can bring people together.

Fresh Pretty Cure = Dancing, strangely enough and I think many consider this one of the weaker seasons.

Smile Precure = Theme around Fairy Tales and I would say probably one of the most colorful and bright of the series. About how everyone wants to achieve their own fairy tale ending.

DokiDoki Precure = The theme was about human emotions and the different aspects that make up a person. Also used a playing card theme for characters like alice in wonderland which was interesting.

Happiness Charge Precure = The main theme was love which was quite an interesting topic for a magical girl show. I liked this series for attempting such a topic though it messed up some of what could have been really interesting plot developments.

Go! Princess PreCure = I did not watch this one cause I hated the 'princess school' setting. Every girl can be a princess kind of thing but the school for training princesses was just like...wait what? Like why? XD

Mahousukai Precure = Magic, catering to magical school type trends. Pretty fun overall.

KiraKira PreCure A La Mode = Cooking, its just started and I find the animal theme outfits cute but it is a strange one to be sure.

Anyway, there are a lot of Precure and some are better than others. Then of course there are all the movies too but you can forget them for the most part. The series does give a lot of ideas for magical girl type role plays though.
I dunno, magical girls always seemed like a specifically "modern" thing if that makes sense? Since when you think about it, at it's most basic level it's kind of just a bright and cheerful take on urban fantasy. Placing it in a historical setting feels like it would change it from urban fantasy to just straight up fantasy, if that makes sense.

...I'm choked up and delirious with a cold right now so if that's a bit hard to follow that's why. ^^;

I kinda understand what you are getting at, the magical girl genre at its core really seemed to be more about adding onto the more mundane, humdrum life that people are familiar with. You take the genre outside of the 'modern' world and its no longer about the possibilities and potential of people. Also a lot of magical girl type stories are centered around a certain theme that a modern age person can relate to and understand, along with the challenges that go with it in a modern society.

You take the modern setting out and then the audience can no longer closely relate to the characters and so the magical girl genre just morphs into a magical fantasy setting. The reason the magical girl genre is so popular is because of how people can often relate to the characters and therefore think that they too, can also have the potential for so much more.

Anyway if you can think of a decent plot I'll show my interest to be sure. Hmm, I might look at some older ideas I had in the past while I'm at it...
"Hmm yes I suppose that was never quite mentioned during the initial proceedings. Obviously we cannot just have bodies laying around the castle grounds so the bodies will be disposed of by castle personnel." The masked individual motioned to the servant girl who promptly stepped out from behind the dummy and around Kehah who had taken cover next to her.

"Come young one. I know its a bit annoying but considering your involvement tonight it looks like you have a corpse to dispose of." He pointed down to the ranger's paling body and the servant girl quickly obliged, she grabbed the corpse by his armpits and started to drag him toward the open hidden door.

"You might find me around every so often, looking for...employment opportunities. Something to keep in mind." The masked individual bowed, and walked after the servant girl into the darkness. "A good night to you both, I'll be keeping an eye on this war you can be certain." With that said, the man seemed to touch something in the darkness, and the wall slid back into place as if there had been no secret door at all.

The imperial scout listened closely...silence was all her heard. It had been about 30 minutes since the gargoyle appeared to have given up. Still, he was quite scared and very cautiously peered out of the turret. He looked all around but the beast was no where to be found. He took a step out and quickly looked up at the top of the turret to see if the beast had climbed on top, but there was nothing.

"I-I need to get back while I have the chance!" He bolted along the wall as fast as he could, praying that he would make it. He made it about 30 feet when suddenly, the gargoyle shot up from the outside of the wall where it had been lying in wait, out of sight. The beast tackled the man off of the wall and into the courtyard below with a sickening thud.

Both sides had lost a man that night before the war could even truly begin.
Well I was waiting for @Emu but I guess he can always retroactively do that post. Anyway, the night should be done soon.
