Hey there and welcome to the forums! :) As long as the rp is accepting new players, I highly doubt you'll mess anything up :) There are many places and people to go to for help and guides. And most here would be happy to help you along :) Also, take a look into the interest checks. Those are generally rp's that haven't started yet and are looking for those interested. What sort of role plays/story lines are you interested in?
She ignored the compliment Tobias gave, but dipped her head in thanks as he handed her back her axe. She dusted herself off and tucked her daggers back into place as the conversation continued, and then he was gone.

She was about to be on her own merry way when the gnome introduced herself. "I am Tirarrian, and what is your name m'lady?" "Izzy. You may call me Izzy." she said in a low voice and dipped her head a bit awkwardly in greeting. "He was right though, setting up like this, when there are still so many of these things crawling around was not the smartest of ideas. Despite all of that though ..." she glanced up at the building, who's fire seemed to be nearly all extinguished "That was one hell-of-a shot." She shook herself back to reality and looked at the gnome once more. "You keep yourself safe now. We don't need you dying needlessly, and I can't be your personal guard." she may have been a little transparent, but her voice was curt enough to get the point across. She wasn't in the habit of making friends for a reason, and wasn't about to change that now.

She patted herself down a moment, making sure all was there, then headed off towards the main attraction, her axe slicing through the opponents in her way. They're here not as a real threat, well, maybe to the untrained citizen, but not to the warriors in the city. No ...they're here as a distraction, a means to draw more chaos into the fold and keep us all from the main fight ... from you Her brows wrinkled with disgust, her eyes darkened somewhat as she fixed her gaze on the tavern and the threat that sat inside. The rage was building, it wouldn't be long now until it all came crashing down. "We take you down and it ends" she muttered to herself. She glanced around, hoping to find Piper and Joseph, waving her arms as a motion for them to join her.

The two main reasons I've seen it happen is because something unexpected happened, or didn't go the way the player wanted it it, or because the original concept of the character was unstable or incomplete.

My character is an unstable bitch, she broken in a sense and not without baggage. She does what she wants, when she wants and how she wants. She does have a conscience, which is why she went to help out Tirarian. But she's not going to be nice to you, not right off the bat anyway, it isn't in her character.

As a gm though, alignment helps me to anticipate the actions of a character. Which helps for immersion. As I said, I haven't really seen it here, but I have seen it elsewhere, and I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially when this is something that I put so much effort into.

A link for definitions that should help out with this. In the meantime, I'm going to have myself a cup of coffee, a- so I don't bite anyone's head off and b- so I can form complete thoughts and sentences :p
Haha@The Fated Fallen, I knew I was rambling, but at least I was on the right track
@Diabolic to me, that sounds like someone who would start off as chaotic neutral. Someone who follows no set laws but their own, who doesn't feel extremes on either side are a good thing, but ultimately, because of their actions, could be swayed either way. Listing an alignment also helps me as a gm, keep you accountable to your character outlined, so you don't sway out of character due to, well anything really. I've been around the block enough times to see it happen unfortunately. Not so much here, but, being as this is my first story that I've created here, I figured I'd play it safe. That being said, I think that chaotic neutral may be the best way for you to go to start off with. I may be wrong, and the choice is completely yours, it's just a suggestion. I don't mind the idea of the indicators. Naturally, cn is going to do what they feel is best any situation, if it is something bad, or something good, time will tell :)

@Diabolic The alignment gives the readers and myself a little more information about your character, how they would react to certain thi NH s, certain people. I'm on my phone, sorry for all the typos. Also just woke up :p there is also organized crime on the island. If you read I think it's the introduction paragraph in the ic tab, it lists just a few - the thieves guild, assassin's guild, etc. If you wanted to make a character that was part of this guild, that's cool, however please keep in mind that you would be playing for team good here, and fighting against the evil mage and demons summoned. Listing your alignment also helps me when I'm setting up quests, so far everyone is good and neutral, but if someone were evil aligned, I might throw something else in there.

Alignments to chose from are lawful good, neutral good, chaotic good, lawful neutral, true neutral, chaotic neutral, lawful evil, neutral evil, and chaotic evil.

I hope I answered your question
@Crow unfortunately, those races are not allowed. I've outlined the playable races in the cs. As far as weapons, we do have two characters that carry guns, however that is about as steam punk as this is going to get. I do appreciate the concept of steam punk, but that's not what this rp is. So the answer is no.

A girl raised by dragons is plausible, we do have the dragon caves on the island if you wanted to be a native, or not, could be something off shore. But I'd like to see a cs before I say yes to that.
The new one? I wasn't that crazy about her playing Sarah, but now I'm actually excited to see it. A bit more excited to see Creed, but I'm glad to hear that terminator was good. Maybe I'll drag the other half this weekend :)
Hi there and welcome :)
Happy rp'ing
