Hair Length/Texture: Her straight hair reaches to her waist, in part due to a meticulous care routine. She finds it tedious, but too important to skip. It is usually binded with a cloth, ribbon, or put up to ensure that there are no obstructions.
Hair Color: Maryam's hair is a blondish tawny, naturally. 
Skin Color: Light russet, with an undertone of peach.
Facial details(freckles, moles, etc): She has a few sparse freckles, which are usually covered. They darken in summer, and fade in colder days.
Distinguishing features: Maryam uses henna, which she seldom goes without. The design is intricate, and has meaning she would gladly point to and explain.
It stops just at her elbows.
Clothing Preferences: Long, flowy clothes. Jewelry is just as essential as the cloth, so an abundance is always present. 
She prefers detailed dresses, usually with a length of cloth draped on a shoulder.

Her pets are Rouhi, Baraq and Sukkar. 
Rouhi is an African hawk eagle, who Maryam often leaves to his own devices. 
Baraq is a Burmese Python and Sukkar is a Spotted Hyena.
Maryami likes to read books. It's a favorite pastime, especially with a drink.
She prefers silence, but talk with the entertaining is much more desired.
Dislikes:
Terrible food. The taste seems to stay for days.
Loud interruptions. She finds it hard to focus on the words of a page with background sound.
The rude or uncouth. She can't stand disrespect.

Reading // If she finds a good book, she'll read it many times over. If it's a favorite, she'll keep the story forever.

Personality Summary // 
Maryam is generally likeable. The image she projects is a queenlike visage, and she believes she personifies it well.
She speaks in a warm and approachable manner, although her strong determination can sometimes deter. Her overall aura is composed, rarely showing any signs of upset. She strives to be gentle and comforting towards those she considers deserving of her kindness, while she interacts with others in a more reserved way. 
Maryam, although generally pleasing, struggles with an inability to contain her anger. Her ladylike facade is prone to breaking, and she would certainly prefer to be silent over an outburst.

Archery // Although recent, she's a prodigy in the sport. Her steady hand can nock and loose an arrow with precision and speed. Ironically, she picked up the interest from a book.
Language // She speaks many languages, to read various types of books that would be inaccessible otherwise.
Falconry // Maryam seems to have an affinity for birds. She doesn't complain when they follow in droves, or take things from her hands.
Horseback Riding // Maryam taught herself to control and ride a horse.

History Summary // 
Maryam was an obedient and rule-abiding child. She rarely ventured out of her comfort zone, opting to stand only with what she knew. 
When Ranya was born, she could only think that it was her fault their mother had passed. With her nearly identical appearance it was hard for the young Maryam to not place blame. 
Like many other children, she had begun to feel envy and anger. Maryam never spoke her mind, for it was feared that it would only cause more division. On her own, she devoted her time to what she enjoyed best: the pursuit of knowledge.
Her tutors applauded and praised her ethic, and inevitably she felt the opposite; as if nothing would be enough. She was aware of the reason Ranya was so sheltered, and yet still held a grudge.
As she grew older, of course, she realized that her feelings of resentment were largely one-sided; there was no real reason to act so distant and bitter. Catching the eyes of her father was a long-gone prospect, so she focused on something more attainable: the seat of the Sultan.

On a small ride through Genesea, she came across a small injured hawk. With gentle hands, she cradled him and resolutely decided to nurse him back to health. Since then, the hawk has remained by her side, a loyal companion and a symbol of her compassion. 
The snake and hyena were bought by Raif, something she specifically asked for. The animals are fascinating to her, and she cares for them like children.
