Evvie switched her staff to her left hand as she swung it outwards in order to deflect the water that was arching towards that shoulder. With the staff's high durability she considered it unlikely that the water would be able to outmatch it in a clash. While this was going on she noticed something else speeding straight her way, possibly the same type of water tendril. It would be hard enough to use her staff to defend against one of them, far less both coming from different directions unless she was able to get a good spin going, which wouldn't happen in time. Instead she opened up her jaws and let loose her torrent of flames to intercept the spot that the attack was coming from. It would have to survive the intense heat long enough to clear the remaining distance, but just in case it did she began to maneuver herself further backwards and ready to take flight if she was able to knock the left tendril away from her and where her wings would have to spread outwards.
Her armor would be fully formed within a second by now.
Here's the list of ancient races. The newer ones will be posted sometime within the week.
Greater Gods/Lesser Gods - Greater gods and lesser gods have been around since time began, although some can potentially become them or loose their status later on. They're generally much more powerful than any mortal, the greater gods especially, but there are exceptions and none of them are all powerful, all knowing, invincible, etc. They're very diverse in the types of magic that they can employ and how powerful they are at it. They all have flaws and the greater gods are in a pact with each other not to directly interfere with the world unless under approved circumstances, further limiting their hands.
High Servants - Also around since the dawn of time, high servants are similar to angels, serving the same purpose. They aid the gods and have a wide variety of different forms and abilities. Some can be very weak while others almost as powerful as a greater god in very rare circumstances.
Giants - Although not having this name from the start, giants were the first intelligent life form created by the gods, along with the Drakannia. They have immense physical prowess and in some cases, even in magic, of which they are not tied down to a single element. Their sizes vary greatly from 8 feet to 40 feet tall, originally being around 20 feet but have spread out and changed over the many years of their existence. They look mostly human but some can appear more rugged like how cavemen are stereotypically portrayed as.
Titans - What were once giants, the titans grew to even greater size and power in an effort to combat the Drakannia by way of ancient magical arts. They have an abysmally small reproductive rate and most were killed in the war so very few titans still exist, the ones that do often secluding themselves. Due to an increase in magic their bodies often take on the appearance of it, so ice titans have their skin coated in icicles, for example. The maximum size of a titan is highly debatable and rumors claim of a 500 foot one, making the tallest giants only go up to their ankle should that be true.
Drakannia - The Drakannia were created alongside the giants and hold immense power in general, although weaker races of beings have spawned from them. Some are called dragons as their informal name, but often only for the winged ones. Drakannia do not all have wings but most have a dragon-like body to some extent. They never stop growing, their babies about the size of people and the largest elder on record able to rival the titans in size. They come in different types such as fire, ice, etc, able to breath out and otherwise control their element to an extent. They got into a massive war with the giants, who later developed into titans in an effort to defeat them. Many on both side were killed, which the Drakannia still haven't recovered from as far as population size is concerned, originally said to be as common as birds. Drakannia and giants still feud quit often, although not on such a large scale, drakannians seeing giants mostly as a food source rather than something to send huge invasions forces against.
Umm. . . I dunno about the canon but if you want to learn my best advice if you have never been in a fight or have any training is just forget the character hoohah and just spar.
Bringing character and personality into how they fight is always interesting though (if done well).
whats the battleground for this fight? let me know if you need one.
I'm thinking Automaton can pick the battleground if he/she wants due to Allison being the one going to Murphy's location as part of her assignment to eliminate him.
If you want to learn how a real fight works out, do it with no powers so you don't rely on them. Your character, her sword and some luck.
Her practice sword or a real one? If she's using a real one she'd be serious and would thus use powers unless I use a different canon of her or younger days when she didn't have powers and wasn't as good with a sword, making it explained why she'd make mistakes (that I make)...but too young and it may be a little silly in this circumstance.
I think different canon would work better or maybe a different character who wants to learn swordfighting. I was planning on more of a fist fight where she needs to learn how to fight without a sword if I'm sticking to a fight with her in her original canon.

I am up some no power swordfighting, if you like.
Serious one or a practice match? If going for serious I might use a different character.
Maybe it would help if I'd do sparing practice with someone. I've never been in a real fight so don't know all the proper poses and such to do different techniques. If anyone wants to help practice that would be greatly appreciated. It wouldn't be a ranked battle. It could end in kos but not death.
I'll see what power level everyone's going with and then post an appropriate character tomorrow. I have an idea based on skimming through this what character might be good.
