I know you said that it was optional, but if we decide to make a character app, do you want it to be posted under the OOC tab or Characters tab?

Character tab.

I don't think we will have a cute mascot that follows our magical girls. Maybe our girls can try to find one but fails spectacularly.

There will be transformation sequences because it takes a while to get the suit powered up and you don't want to just stand there looking stupid or make dragon ball z screams while squatting.
Here's our battle, @MelonHead: The Mech that went to an Active Volcano

I'll get the IC post up after I slack off a bit more.
Setting:

An active volcano is in the distance but won't erupt during the battle. Some lava is slowly flowing out but will only effect things if venturing towards the volcano. Most of the ground is cooled lava and other rock, few patches here and there still on fire. Mech eating fire rabbits do exist here but thankfully are hibernating.

Story:
Some guy in a mech is probably wanting to kill some guy in armor who has heat related powers and stuff. Since his mech is good at heat resistance he's all like, "mwahahahaha! I can win now! This volcano is nothing!"
"Yes, victory!" The elven princess thought, the finishing blow mere moments away, only to be stopped just in time by a most unexpected arrival. A large quantity of irritating dust burst into her eyes, temporarily blinding her, and a powerful tremor at her feet threw her off balance, causing her to first stumble forward and then tumble back onto her own hindquarters rather ungracefully, landing very close to where the orc was struggling. Inconceivable! She cursed her own bad luck and the horrible orcs that caused things to come to this, as well as whatever it was that had attacked her like that.

Knowing that he was so close to her she lashed out with her feet, trying to kick him before he had time to do anything to her. Her legs and feet glowed with runes as they powered her strength and speed to inhuman levels, like how she had been keeping up with the physically more powerful orc until now. This allowed her to have that advantage over him, but she had used a lot of her magic in the opening spell that she was forced to waste on his magic so could tell she was weakening, her kicks loosing their power even as she did them just now.
Volcanic plains is fine with me, as long as there isn't too much surface lava.

I'll get to making the battle sometime today, probably.

A new character idea; someone with attack ferrets stored in cans:

Too late to join?

no

I think that was the actual image used. Let's go with that if you don't mind, melon.
Hikaru made her way purposefully through the training grounds, enjoying the surroundings that would make for a good arena to test her mettle in rather than simply inside a dojo as her usual days off would be spent. Now that she knew the universe was a much larger place then it had been for her previously, her skills only at kendo were no longer enough to allow her to compete on equal footing with her potential foes. She needed real world fighting skills both with a blade and without or else she wouldn't be able to protect anything she cared about from the dangers that awaited them. Despite being unsure how well she'd do in this regard in her first attempt, she wasn't afraid of making a fool of herself if it was to better herself in the long run. Hopefully her training partner wouldn't go easy on her and she could learn a few things that would make her venturing here, all the way from her home in Japan, worth it.

She wore the traditional outfit for kendo, minus the armor, and had her practice sword slung over her shoulder in a bag that also contained her other belongings. Even though this wasn't any formal training regimen at a dojo, she still felt like she should dress appropriately and didn't know what else to wear anyways.

She didn't know a whole lot about her opponent for this match other than his name and where she'd meet him. He would be the one to recognize her if she couldn't locate him on her own, but she had a pretty good idea it was the lone guy waiting on the bench, so she made her way over to him, bowing and then extending a hand out for him to shake after she set down her belongings on the ground next to the bench.

"Hello, my name is Hikaru Tsukuda," she introduced in the language that he would understand. She spoke it with only a slight accent, her words clear and energetic. "I believe that you're here for a match?"
I'll get working on my post soon. I'll change some stuff about her, such as being half american, which adds virtually nothing to her character. She'll also have a chance to get more involved with stuff rather than just stuck in kendo on earth. Basically, consider her character sheet sort of correct but not always 100%.
I'm thinking I may have to create another map anyways. Maybe a savanna with large poisonous termite-like nets where they swarm you if you knock into them? Your mech likely wouldn't care about this threat but it could be interesting for other battles. Plus it will be home to other animal threats your mech also wouldn't care about and an area with tall grass (that your mech also wouldn't care about).

By the way for a random fact, for this arena that was posted, it's probably inspired from a game called Dishonored (not the people, who are too advanced in tech). I recognize it because it's a stealth game so requires careful planning of the environment...and repeated resets.
