Episode 1
********************

For many of the new crewmembers assembled on board the Exeralune, space had never felt so vast before. It gave them a sense of newfound wonder to be a part of something so big. Traveling the galaxy on a quest to restore people's faith in the UNT; changing the lives of everyday people who were unable to get help any other way. They were going to be so many people's last resort. The pressure many of the crew must have been feeling at this moment was immense as it finally hit them now that they had set sail. Could they live up to everyone's expectation for this one of a kind ship and it's mysterious captain? Was it even possible in the first place? Some looked towards this challenge with eager expressions, ready to take on whatever the galaxy had to throw at them. They could do this.

The activity level of the ship was slowly winding down for the night to leave people to these thoughts. Soon it would be shift changes and only the active duty crewmembers and nocturnal species would remain out and about, the rest of them ready to get used to a common time schedule that would be their new night and days. Some would surely be exhausted or wide awake by now, but they had no choice but to try and adapt as soon as possible. Delaying this and staying up to party, after such a long day already as they had to get used to the ship, would be unwise. They already had one just as they set off and would have another after the first week concluded, but for now they must rest.

That was the plan, at least.

Blinking red lights began to fill the bridge, a shrill siren wailing in accompaniment.

"Unknown object blocking our dive path!" a female voice shouted frantically. That could be really, really bad news. Hitting something while raveling faster than light across the galaxy in this warped cosmowave space could atomize their entire ship instantly. There was little choice in the matter.

"Don't panic. Take us out of the dive and we'll see what warm welcoming party is being thrown for us," a cloaked and helmeted man said, not a single inch of his skin revealed underneath his uniform. He was the captain known to them only as Hidden Eagle. True to his words, no fear laced his voice.

The distortion around their view screen shifted back to reveal normal space around them...as well as a ship the same size as their own, close enough to be a small glint inside of their visible range. They weren't quite large enough to be considered space carriers, even if they could hold around a half dozen spacefighters each. Certainly nothing to sneeze at. Odd that two such craft would meet out in the middle of nowhere. And blocking a warp dive as it had...it was high tech, that's for sure. It didn't look like anything the aliens around this sector would come up with. UNT origin? Or maybe the Nihn Empire? Probably not. Why would they interfere with the UNT so aggressively all of a sudden and be so far out of their borders?

"Four spacefighters are exiting the main craft," someone else said. "And something bigger, possibly a boarding shuttle."

"Scanning the ships now. Little information on them at the moment," voiced another.

"Put our ship on high alert. Scramble the fighters," Hidden Eagle ordered. "I'd like to avoid a direct confrontation, but we shall defend ourselves should they press the attack. Try to see how they blocked our path and eliminate the source, should we need to flee."

He figured that they must have deployed devices that mess with the cosmowaves that they were bending, making them too difficult to pass through. If ships could travel by bending the waves, surely they could be stopped by a similar process. He had seen that trick used once before, but it used a ton of energy. Surely they'd spot the signal soon enough. Now, to hold out against the mysterious attackers until then. He had faith in his crew to be able to do so. After all, he had personally assembled them. The Exeralune would not fall on it's first night out after receiving it's upgrades. Not on his watch.

I posted the fox humanoid race on the wiki yesterday in case anyone was interested. Today I procrastinated...err...studied tank designs on World of Tanks PS4 for a bit to give me a...better idea on andreemea tanks! After dinner and a few other things I'll post the AI race, then hopefully get the floating, four legged, and twi'lek inspired races finished, then the IC.

Also, how does translation work here? Gonna guess we're going with a sci-fi universal translator thing to explain all the different species?

People of UNT are expected to know anolo as a common language. They use translators to try and piece together foreign languages if unknown to their databanks and the translator says the translation into their ear.
I'm in the mood to create a demographics section for the UNT so you guys know the percentages of every race (with other minor races all grouped into one). 5% is probably very large for a single race. I imagine the top 10 make up 50% of the population. The top would be seen disproportionately more, though, in things like the military. If your race only has a few billion then you're not sending a large task force off planet to join UNT forces.
Name: Scree

Even today this pride still remains, every moment a trembling excitement as he meticulously explored, marked down, and documented the undiscovered world around them. And during a scouting expedition into the jungles of the north, that is when Scree came across a strange immense metal structure towering above him, unknowing of the worlds in the sky that would soon be having a very direct impact on his life; and visa versa.

Accepted. Looks like you plan on us visiting him so he's not currently on the ship. That would limit his involvement in the first episode unless you want to say we already visited his planet on the way.

I'm sorry I haven't posted something yet. I'll start it today, I just haven't been feeling well lately

Don't worry about it.
Do you guys think it would be too creepy to have my most common four legged UNT race also have arms?

The slugs sound more interesting, in my opinion; that would also give more reason for the Matriarchy for creating combat AIs such as Y00-17. Although the idea of fighting an entire alien race like Sonic humors me.

The slugs developed a program that shut down a lot of the AI so only Y00 got out of the war just in time. The slugs aren't fat or slow but instead look majestic.

They don't look like sonic, being more like realistic humanoid hedgehogs. They could be a rival but not the main one. The slugs are a major threat. Oh yeah, and the GAN empire has a super powerful cactus race that was a major threat long ago when the two factions were fighting, but luckily they are currently at peace.
Name: Starla Stratos

Accepted.

Name: Msaliti “CG -145”
Appearance: Msaliti stands well over six feet tall and looks down on most races average heights.

Understand most languages

Accepted, but here's some petty nitpicks. Six feet isn't that big, but how much is well over six feet? There likely are indeed more races shorter than humans than taller. I was planning on a giant race at one point. Still might do it sometime in the near future.

For understand most languages, you mean after learning them, I'm assuming? His brain likely wouldn't have millions or billions of languages in it.

Name:
Y00-17 or 'Metalhead'

Age:
10 (Since activation)

Metalhead was built to be fiercely loyal to the Faera people; his loyalty emanates to his new crew and associates as well.

via a Universal Serial Bus cable

Y00-17 is a not a unique machine. He is one of tens of thousands of Multi-purpose Naval Droids designed and built by the Faera.

During a battle with one of UNT's primary rivals in the north

Metalhead spent the next two years hopping from command to command, causing trouble for every Faerin commander he was put under. Y00-17 didn't see himself in the wrong; he did only as he was programmed to do. But certain actions he took in the name of his higher code hindered the Fleet's progress overall. Eventually Metalhead was honorably discharged when he took a hard line stance against a particularly corrupt captain's breaking of intergalactic law. Instead of allowing Y00-17 to take these recorded events to Command, the captain blackmailed Y00-17 into willing leaving the military.

Character accepted.

By loyalty to Faera, I'd assume the ones loyal to the queen. Other faera could be equally an enemy to them as any other race.

Interesting. Both him and Msalti are 10 years old.

Ah, now I know the fancy name for a USB. While I doubt they'd use exactly a USB, but a human could easily say, "that's a USB" and they'd understand how to work it.

More minor nitpicks. What you say is technically correct, but saying "tens of thousands" makes it seem like a lot, when it's actually not that many, all things considered. Nobody would comprise a huge amount of AI in their military in case something goes wrong with them like the Virous attack long ago. That being said, that stated number will probably be around the most active at any given moment, mostly in the more deep space but some could go elsewhere like your guys.

I'm thinking the Faera's primary rival up there could be some sort of a large slug, like 7 feet tall or so, and has magical powers and maybe freeze breath or neurotoxin or something. Would make sense to send your guy to fight them in that case, as they don't have brains to target. Another idea for a rival of theirs is ones that only go up to their hips and are kind of like hedgehogs.

Judging by his backstory it seems like the Faera are getting more aggressive in their expansion again, which is sort of what I had in mind already. Maybe there's a power hungry admiral who was the captain who blackmailed Y00. She's an evil genius.

Name: Zhaelara
Appearance:

Deemed too dangerous to be stored in a single location, each member of the Narugoz was placed in a separate cell, with Zhaelara being forced into custody aboard the Exeralune.

Does her horns and stuff get hidden somehow?

Her stay on the Exeralune was most likely meant to be a temporary thing as they relocate her to some other planet on their route, but things will go wrong before that can happen.

Character accepted.

Name: Hes called Vordak. His real name is unpronounceable to others.

Accepted. Interesting how he looks more human than most Cyturn, which could symbolize his personality of gaining more humanity, I suppose.

Should we plan out a good time for her crystal to hatch?

Any time you feel is right.
