Soryu easily stands out from most crowds due to not only his bright blue hair and golden eyes but the dignified fashion in which he carries himself. He only stands at an average height and while his body is toned and athletic it is often concealed by the standard Konoha uniform and flak jacket so truly it is his handsome face and unique hair that would get him the most attention. When not on-duty he often wears casual and lazy clothes, such as t-shirts and jeans, though he never wears any headgear. His Konoha forehead protector is worn around his left bicep like an armband, if he's even wearing it. As a whole Soryu appears as a man who could stand out far more than he does if he desired, a remnant of his royal bloodline. One could mistake him for a model of some kind if they met him without knowing anything about him.

【Personality】
Without even opening his mouth one can begin to assess what Soryu is like. His posture and body language practically radiates charisma. When he smiles it appears friendly and genuine. When he ponders it appears as if his thoughts are deep and poetic. When he moves it appears graceful and dignified. Soryu is a man that is capable, both physically and socially. Easy to befriend and trust, easy to listen to; he makes a great person to hold a conversation with even for small talk. For all the outwardly positive traits he seems to have, deep down Soryu is a calculated person with a very potent mask. Always wary of those around him, he absorbs as much information as he can from those he meets to keep a mental profile of all potential allies and enemies. Though he lacks ambition he finds drive in the thrill of the shinobi lifestyle. Combat and outwitting stronger opponents gives him the motivation to carry on. Though he is a capable man he knows his limits and his weaknesses, which is why he often avoids positions of leadership. Being responsible for other people is something he doesn't believe he is good at, though he is confident that he can operate effectively under any leader himself. An effective lone wolf but a powerful teammate, Soryu is also quick to understand the skills of his allies (and his enemies). At the end of the day, Soryu seems almost like a man who could be larger-than-life with a little push in the right direction and he seems to know this. But the secrets that he keeps and his own shortsighted desires hold him back from becoming a cult of personality, for better or for worse.

【History】
Born to the Shinano household, located in the heart of Konohagakure long after taking refuge from their previous land, Soryu was raised on the ideology of birthrights and fate. That one day his family would regain power in the Land of Bones and birth a new nation, and that Soryu or one of his descendants could be the one to do this. Visions of grandeur and hollow talks of vengeance echoed throughout the halls of the Shinano mansion throughout his youth. The borderline brainwashing held no effect over Soryu despite his family's best efforts to raise him to be like them. A fruitless plan by people who would never actually take action, all over a desolate land that will never be restored, did not appeal to him even from a young age.
The meaningless life presented to him left much to be desired. He couldn't care less over what bloodlines meant or what happened in history long past. Soryu lived in the present and he needed to find something to alleviate the lethal boredom of a forgotten clan trying to cling to life. The great war that had been raging since long before he was born was a point of interest to him from a very young age and largely motivated him to attend the Ninja Academy and become a shinobi. His father allowed him to do this under the pretense that these skills he would learn would one day bring the Shinano clan's secret plot to fruition, that Soryu was the one destined to restore their royalty and lead them "back" to greatness. Unfortunately for his father, Soryu never intended to help his family in their plight. He was far more selfish than that.
Rather, he became a shinobi to give his life true meaning. He had always lived in the moment and the action and promise of a thrilling and dangerous job appealed to him. Soryu was a promising student, near the top of his class in marks and well connected with his classmates socially. Many of the adults thought his attitude would change, if not completely break, once he actually was sent off to fight in the war instead of training in the safety and comfort of Konoha. After all, Soryu led an easy life devoid of tragedy or challenge. His family wasn't murdered, he wasn't scarred, he never went hungry, and never even particularly faced physical pain. Had he not gone to the war as a genin he could've perhaps lived his whole life in the comfort of the Shinano mansion, pretending that he would one day act upon dated vengeance and subsisting on boredom. Instead he challenged himself.
His first battle was a bloody one, with his squad assisting Kumo forces in defending an outpost near their border with the Land of Bones. One of his genin squadmates was killed, along with a dozen Kumo shinobi and dozens of Kumo soldiers. Soryu himself received only some bruising and exhaustion, and though the battle was a loss and they had to retreat he had distinguished himself already with his efforts. He never stood out like a prodigy and thus nobody had high expectations of him, but how well he defended himself and the fact that he managed to recover his squadmate's body earned him praise. This was the beginning of what would become a solid career for Soryu. He was a quick learner and adapted very well to whatever he was told to do. After being promoted to chuunin he became known for his dependability and flexibility. He was assigned many missions for the duration of the war, which many were successful and kept him in the favor of Konoha's leaders.
Not many people would bring up Soryu when talking about war heroes. Most Konoha shinobi know him but his lack of flashy and distinguishing feats would make many consider infamous prodigies and clever leaders to be the real heroes of Konoha's forces. Though some have given him recognition for his consistent performance over the years, enough so that he was promoted to jonin after the war had ended. After he returned home to Konohagakure for good, his family once again approached him to suggest he use his clout as a jonin and a war veteran to begin cozying up to Konoha figureheads for ill intentions. Soryu finally made his own intentions clear to his family and said he would do what he wants, though he wished them good luck on their endeavors (if only in a sarcastic way). What he originally sought to escape had begun to haunt him again with the end of the war: boredom. There were no foes to challenge him, no obstacles to overcome. Though he had friends to spend time with and the occasional assignment he was left feeling without a purpose...
Until it was time to explore the New Continent.

Description:
A wakizashi with a black hilt and saya, indistinguishable from normal swords other than the Shinano family crest it bears at the top of the saya. Made of very high quality steel and sharpened with care, this sword would be sold for a very high price. However, this weapon isn't particularly special other than being more durable than the average wakizashi.

A short sword with a slight curve, ordained with a plain black hilt.

Description:
A recurve bow made of wood. Standard by design with a hefty draw weight of 100lbs, it can launch arrows out to 350m though Soryu's accuracy at that range is questionable. He is very accurate with it out to 150m though. Kept on his back, along with a quiver of eight broadhead arrows and two exploding arrows.

Abilities:
Though he can be summoned in the middle of combat, Yatagarasu (often just called "Yata" for short) is much better suited for a support role. He can fly and scout an area, which is useful in tandem with his ability to telepathically communicate both what he says and what he sees with an intended partner (Soryu in most cases). Aside from intelligence gathering he also has the ability to shed some of his feathers and create a down with healing properties, capable of healing minor wounds almost instantly and rejuvenating stamina. Obviously limited in use for the limited amount of feathers, generally allowing only one use per week.

A three-legged crow only slightly larger than a normal bird. Its feathers are dark and rugged. While it is missing its left eye, the right eye has a yellow glow that shines in stark contrast to its otherwise dark figure.
