Grasidia

Grasidia was shocked when Cloven, who had largely been avoiding her up until now, drowsily stepped past her to take a seat on the leaf she had just made for flying. Her instinctive reaction was to scowl and tip the leaf sideways to knock him onto the ground, but before she followed through she hesitated. Rather, she decided to let him stay. Instead of removing him from her Leaf Caravan she instead continued growing it, to make it large enough for the both of them to sit on it comfortably. He probably thinks others are getting on with us, she thought as she stepped onto the leaf, behind Cloven.

But before anyone else could make Cloven's mistake the giant leaf began to float upwards into the sky. We'll have a little chat... The two ascended until they were higher than the intact buildings before shooting off towards Crocus. The leaf was notably slower than before as Grasidia was far less rushed, and thus it flew at a more comfortable speed. Meanwhile on the ground the rest of the guild would make their way onto the airship provided by the Obsidian Kite mages. It was more than large enough for everyone and the two young men were genuinely curious about the Fenixtear mages. Who wouldn't want to know more about this random guild that just destroyed a dragon?

"Fenixtear, eh?" the young mage confirmed, bringing a hand to his chin as he looked the guild up and down. "A strange bunch you are. But the boss said to give you a lift so we'll give you a lift." Once everyone was on board they would soon be airborne. Of course this vessel was far slower than Grasidia's spell but was proportionately more comfortable, with several amenities onboard including a bathroom and actual seating below deck.

While the victorious mages would return to their guild the word of their accomplishment had already begun spreading. Elsewhere in the country there were guilds green with envy at missing the opportunity to slay a dragon. There were others who wondered where Fenixtear even came from. And of course the news was even reaching the average citizen. Everyone was so used to and familiar with the major guilds that it came as a shock that such an unknown guild had saved the day in Era. And if they were competent enough to slay a dragon then they must be quite the guild.

Things were already changing for Fenixtear. The dream of being recognized had finally come true, but the guild will soon realize that things aren't perfect. Several questions remain unanswered and along with all the good press comes the bad press. By becoming known and popular they have inadvertently made several enemies that they are yet to realize...

One Week Later

The massive, ornate doors to the Magic Council's courtroom slowly closed behind Torys as she approached the single podium in the center of the round room. Across from her were seated up high various old men and women, the Council members themselves, with one in particular seated higher and in the direct center of the rest. The Magic Council Chairman and member of the Ten Wizard Saints, Boram Siegfried, was presiding over this meeting. Of course the seemingly youthful Torys was quick to speak up. "Good evening, sirs and madames," she chirped with a polite bow, though her audience seemed displeased that she didn't give the Chairman a chance to speak first. "Torys Lusitania," Boram spoke up, his voice deep and gravely, "The last time you were here it was under unfortunate circumstances. I never expected to see you again, at least not in this world." Torys simply smiled politely in response.

"The reason we summoned you here today is because we've reviewed our reports of your new guild, Fenixtear. It's been confirmed that it was indeed your mages that had slain the dragon that besieged our city last week. Most of our forces, including myself and Harvard, were not present and we would've sustained serious losses had your guild not arrived in time." Once again Torys gave a cheeky smile, this time adding a curtsy to further demonstrate her smugness. "Our reports found no infractions from your guild since you had created it, thus you are eligible to become an officially recognized guild and join the Guilds of Fiore. We have decided that we would give you another chance and are offering you this opportunity to join us. Should you accept we-"

"I decline."

Her interruption shocked and stunned the room, creating a silence so severe a dropped pin could be heard. But the Chairman was the first to regain his composure. "Um, excuse me? Are you saying that you do not want your guild to be recognized as a legal guild?" Torys brought a finger up to her lips and drew her gaze to the ceiling, pretending to think it over for a few seconds. "I am saying that," she confirmed. "I politely decline your offer." One of the other council members, an old man with glasses and a bald head, slammed his fist onto the stand before him. "How dare you, Torys Lusitania!" The elderly woman with long white hair sitting next to him spoke up next. "Did you come here to disrespect us and expect to not be punished again?" The other Council members began ranting and speaking over each other all yelling at Torys, all the while she simply held her hands behind her back and kept up her smug grin. Only Boram and one other council member, a tan skinned man with a short grey beard and sunglasses, remained silent. The Chairman was seething as he stared her down from his stand.

"Well I'm terribly sorry, I meant no disrespect," Torys finally spoke up once the yelling died down some. "I only came out here because you asked. But, you see, I just don't think that I want Fenixtear to be bogged down by your taxes and rules. If I were a betting woman I would guess that you're only extending this offer to me because you've seen how much business we've been getting over this past week and how much the guild has expanded. But of course, you would never do that..." At this point Boram stood up from his chair, grabbing his stand to lean over it. "We will not make this offer again, Torys. Do not make a decision that you will regret today. If you do not accept our offer, and we find out that your guild has done anything illegal, we will jail you and your offending members and disband your guild."

"Oh please, Boram. You know that we've already grown far too famous and popular for you to label us a dark guild just like that." The Chairman gripped his stand tighter, cracking the wood visibly from where Torys was standing. "Your delusions won't hold you out of reach of justice. We will treat your guild no differently from any other unrecognized guild no matter how big you get. One wrong move and you'll spend what few days you have left in the dungeon." Once again, Torys pretended to think things over but this time she ended the facade with a shrug. "Don't worry, sir, we will continue to follow the law to the letter! And if any more dragons attack your club then you know who to call." With this she twirled around and began walking back towards the giant doors. They magically began to open as she approached but the council behind her began shouting at her back the moment she started leaving. "You have no graces left, Torys. You better watch yourself." The young-looking Torys looked over her shoulder back at the Chairman, giving him a smug grin before sticking her tongue out at him and pulling down her right eyelid with her middle finger. The attempt at disrespect was successful and she could see a vein throbbing in Boram's forehead as the two giant doors closed behind her once she left the courtroom.

Now she found herself standing in a long, marble hallway with ornate pillars to her right and various memorial paintings along the walls to her left. But directly to her side, leaning against the wall next to the doors that had just closed, was a young man. His hair was white, his skin pale, and he wore a decorated leather jacket and black jeans. His jewelry and the decorations of his clothes matched the tall golden staff he wielded. "Hello, Pallas," Torys greeted the young man without even looking. His red eyes followed the back of her head as she continued walking though he spoke no greetings in return. She continued down the hallway silently, her footsteps echoing as she went. The emotionless expression on Pallas' face didn't change, though after a moment he stood up straight away from the wall. He tapped his staff against the ground, creating a brief flash of multi-colored light. After this rainbow of light faded he was gone, leaving Torys alone as she smirked to herself on her way out.

Two Weeks Later

What once was a desolate guild hall moonlighting as a tavern to make ends meet has become active and full of life. Empty tables were filled, the job board was overflowing with quests. The last three weeks had seen explosive growth for Fenixtear as Torys accepted dozens of new mages. And all these people, including her original members, didn't have to sit around doing nothing thanks to the influx of quests being posted. So many mages wanted to join Fenixtear that Torys ran out of board above the guild hall, so many of the new mages had to get their own place to live. Everyone has been so busy that Torys had to hire a dedicated assistant to tend the bar and help manage the job board!

One person who hasn't been a fan of the changes, and possibly the only one who hasn't been a fan, is Grasidia. The plant mage thought she already had too many interactions in a day with the guild before they got big, but now there were even more humans than before by a lot. Now she gets pestered at her garden more often than before, famous for being a member of Fenixtear as one of its most powerful mages. Never before had she been asked so many questions, and so often it was the same questions just by different humans. She had grown used to her "family" over the course of over a year but all these new people have begun immediately acting friendly and getting way too close.

So of course she has been spending less time at the guild hall during the day. If she lingers at her garden too long she will be bothered there too, so she has been keeping up a habit of either getting a quest that interested her or hiding away in her room above the guild hall. It only ever died down at night and she found pleasant company in at least one of the new faces, so that would always be the best time to find her. But right now it was morning and she had just finished watering her garden. The moment she opened the door there was a small group of people waiting, compared to the occasional one that she used to have. By now she knew the routine, that most weren't here for the garden but instead to see her. To elicit a response of any kind.

But she couldn't talk to this many people at once! "Um, excuse me," she spoke, making her way through the crowd in front of her. The greetings began and were soon followed by the questions. "How are you this morning?" "Are you taking on a quest today?" "We should train together sometime, yeah?" "Are you seeing anybody?" And, just like usual, it didn't take long to work her nerves. "Be silent!" Also per the usual, her snapping once did the trick as the crowd of young mages and admirers got the hint and gave her space. With an exasperated sigh she began walking to the guild. After a moment, putting distance between her and her garden, the humans around her were no longer interested in her and were simply citizens going about their business.

As she turned into the shaded alley that Fenixtear calls home she reminisced how much she enjoyed it being empty. There was a certain peace that the alleyway had when she was the only one to ever walk through it. But those days were gone as she could see several teenagers hanging around across from the guild hall's door and a man had opened some kind of souvenir shop not too far away from them. While this meant the alley was far from crowded it still made Grasidia long for the seclusion that it used to provide. As she approached the door one of the teenagers nearby called out to her. "Hey, Gras! Good morning!" This made her pause for a moment, glancing over her shoulder at the kid. He gave an innocent, earnest smile upon making eye contact. And then Grasidia looked back towards the door.

"Hey." This voice she didn't recognize, so Grasidia turned around quickly. A man she had never seen before was suddenly there. Where did he... Before she could process any further he procured a bouquet of flowers from behind his back, offering it forward to Grasidia. This shocked her even further. "I heard you like flowers," the man continued, nudging the bouquet slightly closer to her. It was clear he wanted her to take it but she hesitated. This wouldn't be the first man to try and ask her out on a date. She had no romantic interest in humans and would always decline, this would be no exception. As she opened her mouth to speak she was swiftly interrupted. "Think of these as an offering," he began, immediately catching her glare. "If you give me just a moment of your time, in return I'll give you these nice Hakobe Snapdragons."

He even knows their name? This human is different. He's trying to entice me. He wants something, she thought, her gaze shifting down to the bouquet he held out. But then again... these would go well in my garden... Without a word she slowly reached out and took the flowers from his hand, accepting his offering. "My name is Duncan Nythe, by the way. And you're Grasidia..." "Just Grasidia." "Yes, of course. Would you take a brief walk with me, Grasidia?" He turned away, motioning with his hand to follow. She hesitated, looking back towards the front door of the guild hall before returning her gaze to his back and following him away from the alley.

Grasidia

Her peace and quiet was soon interrupted as a lone Rune Knight approached the seated Grasidia. "Are you injured, ma'am?" he simply asked, surely because of all the blood she was covered in. She simply looked back up at him silently, waiting for him to get the hint and walk away. But the awkward silence continued for a moment as this soldier seemed intent on assisting her. "No, I am fine," she finally spoke after a sigh, now standing up to her feet. "Okay just making sure. You should still get yourself checked out just in case. That dragon was pretty devastating and all." Now Grasidia was getting annoyed with the kind stranger's persistence. "This blood is not from me." Before the Rune Knight could try again to convince her to seek medical assistance she began walking back towards her gathered guildmates, leaving him baffled and confused about her state. Clearly he didn't see the earlier displays and thought she was just a civilian.

It appeared that most of her guildmates were just lingering now. Since Grasidia's curse did a significant amount of the search and rescue work, and now her comrades were just entertaining themselves and nearby civilians, she felt no reason to stay in Era any longer. She took a deep breath to steel herself before speaking up. "I'll be returning to the guild." After announcing her intentions she held her hand over the ground nearby and began forming her Leaf Caravan again. "You can take the train." It wasn't that it was particularly taxing for her to bring them all back, to the contrary it would be no effort at all, but unless anyone spoke up to hitch a ride then Grasidia simply didn't feel obligated to bring anyone else back. After all she only brought them all out to Era due to the urgency of the situation under Torys' orders, not out of the goodness of her heart. Though, almost as if on cue, a floating airship began to descend from the sky.

It landed nearby on the pavilion, where the dragon's body used to be in fact as that was the widest space without any people in the way. There were two young men on board, teenagers as far as Grasidia could tell, who were operating the thing. One of them hopped over the side onto the ground before running up to the guild. "Wow, we saw almost everything until those clouds showed up," the kid spoke up once he stopped. "We were pretty high up so it was difficult, but the Saint fellow we were transporting told us what was going on. After the clouds obscured us for a moment he just... jumped off! I tried to tell him it would take a few minutes to land but he was in a rush." Grasidia realized that these two and their airship would make fine transportation back to Crocus for the rest of her guild, thus she decided she had nothing to feel bad over for not offering a ride. "We're with Obsidian Kite and I called our master and told him what was going on here in Era. He's offering your guild a free ride back to your homes once you're ready, so that maybe one day you might save us if we ever need it! At least that's what he said."

Perfect, they offered instead, Grasidia thought to herself before stepping onto her fully formed giant leaf. It was large enough for her to sit down on this time, unlike the one she took to Era, so she quickly seated herself with crossed legs all the while keeping her gaze on the mage from Obsidian Kite. "But I gotta ask: who are you guys? I've never seen that guild mark before."
Grasidia

"Only Torys," she agreed with Holly. While the armored woman went back towards the dragon's corpse to pose and spread awareness of the Fenixtear name, Grasidia walked back towards Marduk and the rest of the guild. Before Marduk had even suggested it aloud the Rune Knights had already begun to disperse, with one regiment following the Wizard Saint back to the Magic Council headquarters building and the rest all spreading out to begin searching the rubble for survivors (and bodies). This meant nobody was stopping the growing crowd of civilians from approaching the members of Fenixtear and several began to step forward, including the journalist from earlier. While Grasidia approached a nearby destroyed building, preparing to clear the rubble and search for any humans, she was followed by several from the crowd that began to ask questions. "Your guild is called Fenixtear?" "What's your name?" "Who are you?" "How did you kill the dragon?" "Where is your guild from?" "Is the old man the guildmaster?"

The pestering very quickly worked Grasidia's nerves and it was only a matter of time before she would snap at the humans following her. I'm covered in blood how are they not repulsed enough to stay away? she wondered as her plants began to lift and turn the rubble of the building in front of her in her search for victims of the dragon attack. "Hey lady! At least tell us who you are." And that was the end of her tolerance. Grasidia turned around to face the humans. "Leave me be!" she commanded, shocking the small crowd and frightening them with her intensity. This did the trick as they remained silent and began to walk away to go bother other members of her guild, though everyone seemed to have at least a few people already bothering them. Holly surely had the largest of the gatherings but the journalist from before had actually approached Marduk, likely assuming that he was the master due to his age and barking orders.

But at least they finally left Grasidia alone. Stupid humans, should've let the dragon tear this place down, she thought to herself as she finished clearing the rubble before her. There were no bodies or survivors in this one, but with her curse she was able to search very quickly. The roots of her plants quickly spread out underneath the city, poking out of the ground where there was destruction and quickly searching the areas. She was able to remotely find many survivors, and even more unlucky humans, to assist the Rune Knights in their rescue operations. While her plants continued to do all the work across the city she began to walk back towards where the bulk of her guild was gathered. She quickly stopped when she saw how many humans had surrounded them. Not wishing to deal with the barrage of annoyances again she turned away and took a seat on the ground against a large boulder of debris.

I'm probably going to have to bring everyone back to the guild, she continued thinking to herself. Though I suppose there's no urgency now and they can just take the train back. I don't need to wait for them. She looked down at her bloody palms, then up her bloody arms. It's been a long time since I've felt demon blood. What a strange Etherious this was. What is our creator doing with something like that? Why would he attack the Magic Council in this way? Surely if he wanted to destroy it he would've sent someone else, and multiple Etherious. She looked back up at the disappearing dragon, which was mostly gone at this point. Did he make it look like a dragon on purpose? Surely he did. I just can't understand to what end he is heading towards. Is it time I went home? No, he would possibly have me killed... And I can't tell Torys about all this or she might get me killed too... I suppose the best course of action would be to look into this myself...

Grasidia

The blood-soaked woman nodded at Marduk in return before turning to look at the approaching Lavinia and her usual theatrics. I suppose she would be feeling quite full of herself after all this, Grasidia thought to herself, simply watching Lavinia as she ranted. They should enjoy their victory. I think most of them believe they killed a dragon and that would be for the better. Nobody needs to know the truth. She looked back down at her bloodied hands. The rain had helped somewhat with the blood problem but she was gonna need a real bath or shower to get clean. She then looked around, noticing that the Rune Knights were approaching the disintegrating "dragon" in force and even civilians were starting to reappear. It was only going to be a matter of time before someone approached the Fenixtear mages and asked who they were, then someone good at speaking like Marduk could retell the story, then they could all go home. Since Marduk returned with Gwen and Lavinia claimed she could help her, Grasidia returned her attention to the old man. "Alright Marduk, let's t-"

A loud boom interrupted Grasidia as something fell from the sky, piercing Ria's rainclouds and slamming into the shattered ground hard enough to kick up a cloud of dust. While this startled Gras enough to stop talking she only turned her head to look over her shoulder at the quickly dissipating dust. The hole in the clouds above began to expand, speeding up the process at which the rain halted but for the moment created a sunbeam over the giant demon's vanishing corpse. From the newly formed crater stepped a gigantic man, easily a head and shoulders taller than Grasidia and twice as wide. He wore black cloth armor with black steel plating, a large katana at his hip. His eyes seemed almost golden and glowing, further standing out from a large scar across his nose and his short black hair. Whoever this man was he already radiated intimidation and power. Though Grasidia hadn't a clue who this man was or what he was here for it seemed that the nearby Rune Knights could recognize him and perhaps several of her guildmates may know him too.

This man was one of the Ten Wizard Saints, a supremely powerful group of mages handpicked by the Magic Council. His name is Ajax Thera, the 2nd ranked Wizard Saint. The giant man's gaze was upon the "dragon", watching as it continued dispersing into Ethernano. His eyes narrowed suspiciously at the sight before looking down first towards Holly, as she stood near the corpse, and then turning over towards the other members of Fenixtear. Even from this distance Grasidia could tell what he was thinking. This man knows. Ajax then began walking forward towards Holly, each step over the destroyed ground creating a resounding thud as he stomped through any small obstacles in the terrain. Grasidia, too, began marching over to Holly. She detected a danger to this man and didn't intend on leaving her guildmate alone with him. Though Ajax reached Holly first, towering over her as he looked down with what appeared to be contempt.

"What happened here?" he finally spoke, his voice deep and just as intimidating as his look. By now Grasidia caught up, standing beside Holly to face this man. The nearby Rune Knights finally approached in an organized volume, surrounding both the decaying dragon and rest of Fenixtear. Beyond the Rune Knights a crowd of civilians began forming as well, all trying to see what was going down. Before Holly could answer the Wizard Saint, Grasidia spoke up first and took another step closer to him. "We have slain the dragon," she said simply. Her boldness seemed to catch Ajax off guard, who now turned his attention from the armored girl to the blood-soaked woman. His eyes narrowed suspiciously, as if they were burrowing into Grasidia's very soul. A normal human of normal constitution would've been an unnerved wreck before this monster before them, but Grasidia simply stared right back into his soul. Whether he was intimidating by nature or by intent it would not work against someone like her. The silent standoff between the three mages near the dragon continued for a few uncomfortable seconds longer. Tension filled the air almost like a fight was going to break out. The nearby Rune Knights and civilians certainly could feel it.

Grasidia and Ajax's staredown finally ended as he glanced over at the rest of the guild. "I do not recognize your guild mark. Who are you?" Once again, Grasidia wasted no time in staving off this man's questions. "We are Fenixtear." Now it became clear that she was beginning to bother this Wizard Saint. His gaze returned to her. "That is no guild I ever heard of. Girl, take off your helmet when I'm talking to you." Now his golden eyes settled on Holly, but Grasidia stepped to the side to put herself between Holly and Ajax. She didn't know who this man was, but she knew this man was strong and she knew this man was about to bully and accuse her guild, her family, of staging this event. Talking to humans always was difficult for her but something inside her knew that this man before her was barely human at all. And she wasn't going to let him treat her family with disrespect. "You're talking to me," she told him plainly, continuing to stare directly into his eyes.

From the nearby Rune Knights she heard a single gasp but she didn't care. "Had we not arrived and slain this dragon then the Magic Council would've been destroyed. You arrived too late." Ajax looked over his shoulder, as if he was only now realizing just how close they all were to the Magic Council headquarters. They were quite literally on its front lawn, so that had Fenixtear arrived but one minute later it really would've been razed to the ground. He turned back towards Grasidia and Holly after confirming. "It would appear so." His right hand reached down towards his sword, resting on the pommel as he took another step towards the two. Grasidia didn't take any steps back, instead holding her bloody arm out in front of Holly to protect her. Grasidia and Ajax were merely a few feet apart now and she had to very clearly look up at him to maintain eye contact. Was he getting frustrated that they weren't being intimidated by him? "Don't come any closer," Grasidia demanded, creating visible shock in Ajax's eyes and practically stunning all the nearby Rune Knights. After a second of silence the big man finally let out a chuckle, removing his hand from his sword and taking a few steps back.

"My apologies, ma'am," he said, his voice now noticeably lighter and his tone more polite. "I wish you and yours no harm. I came here to protect the Magic Council from the dragon and I was surprised that a guild I never knew about had managed to save the day. My name is Ajax Thera and I work for the Council. Dragons are my specialty, you see, because I am a dragon slayer." This confirmed it for Grasidia, that this man could tell the Etherious they fought was no dragon at all. But he seemed to be playing along? "Fenixtear, yes? I am impressed by your resolve. There are great things in your future." A quick flash of light from the side surprised both Ajax and Grasidia. She quickly turned to see that a strangely ecstatic man with a camera had pushed past the Rune Knights and snapped a picture of the three standing near the dragon's head. Though the one picture was all he got as the Rune Knights finally grabbed him and began to drag him away. Ajax chuckled again before looking back at the two S-class mages before him. "It appears that your victory today will soon ensure that others like me won't ask your name anymore."

With that he finally turned away from Grasidia and Holly. He began marching towards the Council headquarters building, offering no further words for goodbyes. The Rune Knights that were in his way parted to allow him to pass with no trouble. Grasidia continued to stare daggers into his back, all the while wondering what he was going to do. She knew that he knew this wasn't a real dragon but he made no accusations to Fenixtear. Was he going to tell the Magic Council? Was he going to keep it a secret? Why would he say the things he did about their future? It was all so puzzling to Grasidia. This strange, powerful man fell from the sky and made her question this day more than this "dragon" already did. She finally lowered her arm from before Holly and looked over her shoulder at the armored girl. "We need to talk to Torys about this," she whispered. Surely Holly had figured out that something was strange with their whole interaction with Ajax.
Grasidia

The dragon's rage seemed to climb as it took more and more damage from the guild. Lavinia preventing it from properly healing its wing and eye, combined with the new injuries it was sustaining, only further fueled its ire. It prepared to look over its back to attack the pest tearing at its muscle but was interrupted by Zenith slamming onto its head and bringing it to the ground. As Zenith let loose another attack into its head, Holly began slashing into its throat from a distance. Two larger blood spikes from Lavinia struck the new wound on its head that was opened up by Zenith, pushing into its skull even deeper than before. The monster let out a screech of pain as the blood spike dug into its brain, but it wasn't quite deep enough. It not only remained conscious and moving but more spikes began growing from the top of its head attempting to stab Zenith with their rapid spread. But before the dragon could lift its head up to take aim at Holly with another flame attack something grabbed hold of its jaw.

Grasidia sprung forth from the ground beneath the dragon's head, grabbing its lower jaw with her bare hands. With a quick demonstration of her immense strength she slowly forced its lower jaw back to the floor. She stepped forward, placing her foot on its jaw and then grabbing the top of its mouth with her hands before they could snap shut on her. "Sit," she commanded, taking one of her hands from its upper jaw and aiming them down at the floor of its mouth. In the palm of her hand was a single blade of grass, which very rapidly grew and twisted into a spiral mass. It quickly shot forth, impaling the dragon through its lower jaw and embedding itself into the ground. Once there it continued growing, anchoring the dragon's head to the ground. Grasidia's sheer strength had been keeping the monster from closing its mouth with her inside but the orange glow from its throat began to flare up again.

She stood unmoving, facing the orange glow with no hesitation or fear on her face. She felt heat and wind begin to whip past her, and then she saw the flames. Only they never reached her. The attacks on its throat from Holly had left holes, effectively venting the flames out the sides of its neck in several plumes. For the first time today a smile crept across Grasidia's face, a smug grin of triumph. She then began laughing almost maniacally as the heat whipped her hair and the fabric of her clothes around. After a few seconds of this she finally began to recompose herself, though the smug grin was replaced by an angry grimace. "Die, you pathetic imitation." She held her free hand out, her fingers contorting into red claws. She knew her guild couldn't see her hand from any of their angles and she needed something sharp. Something to draw blood. Once her claws finished manifesting she drove them into the roof of the dragon's mouth before sweeping them across and gouging out a large chunk of its flesh.

Blood poured out from the wound, splashing across Grasidia in a gruesome, gory fashion. This blow would surely be regenerated fairly quickly and didn't do much damage on its own but there was a particularly fiendish woman that Grasidia knew who could use this blood. The dragon's skull was too thick to fully penetrate with her earlier blood spikes that was only from the outside, but angling from the roof of its mouth to its brain would be a much easier shot for that same spell. Grasidia remained in the dragon's mouth propping it open while her guildmates continued their attacks to finish the dragon off. By the time Lavinia would strike the finishing blow the plant mage would be soaked in the dragon's blood. Only once the giant monster finally collapsed completely and stopped moving did Grasidia let out a sigh and step out of its jaws.

Once back in the light she finally realized the disgusting state she was in. Her hand had reverted back to normal by now, keeping her secret kept for today. Grasidia looked over the still corpse before her before looking up at Zenith atop its head. She gave the takeover mage a nod, confirming to him that the beast was slain. Or that she was okay, however he interpreted it. She began walking over to the makeshift bunker that everyone seemed to be regrouping at but stopped after taking a few steps. She looked back over her shoulder at the dragon's body to find that it was beginning to glow faintly. After a few seconds of glowing it began breaking apart, slowly disintegrating into glowing blue particles that drifted towards the sky. Ethernano. I was right, she thought, now turning to face this spectacle. It was an Etherious.

The giant body was dispersing slowly so Grasidia didn't bother to sit and watch the entire time. She quickly turned her attention back to her guildmates and continued walking towards them. Everyone was still alive as far she knew but first she approached Holly. "Uh... good work," she congratulated, patting her on the shoulder with a bloody hand. With that out of the way she continued past towards the rest of the guild. She could already see that Rune Knights were beginning to come out of hiding and starting to gather around the pavilion. She couldn't see any civilians coming around yet but that was likely because the evacuation efforts were successful. The pain still radiating from her body felt especially bad in her forearms, from the strain of forcing the monster's jaws open. She was strong enough to do it but not by much. She looked at her blood-soaked arms and frowned.

"Eden. Divine Blessing." She interlocked her arms, placing each of her hands on the opposite forearm. A small glow emanated from beneath the blood as her healing spell began to alleviate her pain. After a few seconds she felt that she had healed herself enough to tolerate the remaining pain so she returned her attention back to her guildmates. "Marduk, who is hurt?" she asked the old man as she approached, trying to get an understanding of the total situation. She spared one brief glance back at the disappearing dragon, its blue specks floating into the sky like ashes from a fire. It was almost fitting, an oddly beautiful scene amid the destruction it had caused. "Who needs healing?"
